Controls and Displays

Front Controls
- 1. Display: Shows radio information, menus, and settings.
- 2. Telescopic Aerial: Extendable antenna for receiving radio signals.
Radio Control Panel (Top)
- 3. [PRESET 1] button: Recalls favourite station slot 1 or saves the current station.
- 4. [PRESET 2] button: Recalls favourite station slot 2 or saves the current station.
- 5. [PRESET] button: Accesses the favourites memory list (1-30).
- 6. [MENU] button: Opens the menu of the currently active mode or device system settings.
- 7. [POWER] button: Switches the radio on, off, or to standby mode.
- 8. [MODE] button: Toggles between available operating modes (DAB, BT, VHF, AUX).
- 9. [VOLUME] / [NAVIGATE] - button: Decreases volume or navigates up/back in menus. Can also select previous track in playback.
- 10. [OK] / [ENTER] button: Confirms menu selections, starts station search, or pauses/continues playback.
- 11. [VOLUME] / [NAVIGATE] + button: Increases volume or navigates down/forward in menus. Can also select next track in playback.
- 12. [BACK] button: Returns to the previous menu or opens the station list/settings menu for VHF.
Rear Controls
- 13. RESET: Button to restart the device (requires a needle or similar object).

- Connect the supplied USB-C cable to the USB-C socket (15). Connect the other end to a suitable USB charger.
- Actual battery life varies based on usage, settings, and environmental conditions.
- ℹ️ Note - Charging Process: A full charge takes about 3 hours. The battery can be charged when the device is on or off.
Getting Started and Operation
Optimising Reception
- At initial start-up, select your preferred language.
- A station search in DAB mode starts automatically when the radio is first switched on.
- Always pull the telescopic aerial (2) out completely.
- Adjust the aerial vertically for optimal reception.
Switching On/Off/Standby
- Press the [POWER] button (7) to switch the radio on.
- Press and hold the [POWER] button (7) for approx. 1 second to switch the radio off (Standby).
- Press and hold the [POWER] button (7) for approx. 3 seconds to switch the radio off completely.
ℹ️ Note: If the radio is switched off completely while in battery mode, timers and alarms may become invalid. Confirm any prompts with [OK] (10).

Menu Structure and Features
Main Menu Overview
The main menu provides access to the radio's functions. Access it via the [MENU] button (6) or the "Main menu" item.

Digital Radio
- Station list: Displays found stations. Stations with insufficient signal strength are marked with "?".
- DAB tuning:
- Full scan: Scans all receivable frequency bands.
- Manual setting: Scans a specific frequency block.
- Delete unreceivable stations: Removes stations marked with "?" from the list.
- Volume adjustment: Automatic volume adjustment compensates for volume fluctuations. Can be configured or disabled.
Bluetooth
- When enabled for the first time, the radio enters "Pairing mode".
- Pair your smartphone or other devices to stream audio.
- If previously paired, the connection is established automatically.
- To pair a new device, use the [OK] button (10) or navigate via [MENU] (6) to "Pair new device".
VHF (FM Radio)
- Automatically searches for receivable analogue stations.
- Start search with [OK] button (10).
- Search settings: Define whether to stop at stations with sufficient signal strength or include those with weak reception.
- Audio settings: Choose whether to play stereo signals or always mono quality for analogue stations.
AUX In
- Allows cabled connection to external audio sources. Volume controlled by the radio; other operations via the source device.
- AUX Priority: If enabled, the radio automatically switches to AUX IN mode when a 3.5mm cable is connected. If disabled, manual switching is required.
Routines
- Timer: Set a timer from 1 to 99 minutes. Start, pause, stop, and adjust using [OK] (10) and navigation keys. A signal sounds when the timer limit is reached.
- Sleep timer: Switches the radio to standby mode after a pre-defined time.
Settings
- Audio equaliser: Select pre-defined settings or create custom ones.
- Screen settings:
- Backlight: Adjust intensity for operating and standby modes. Set "Time-Out" for automatic backlight switch-off.
- Colour scheme: Choose from various menu colour schemes.
- Night mode: Activates a colour scheme optimized for dark conditions. Can be scheduled.
- System settings:
- Time / Date: Set manually or obtain from DAB/Bluetooth. Set format.
- Language: Define the preferred system language.
- Automatic switch-off: Device switches to standby if no audio signal is detected for a set period.
- Software update: Information on performing updates is available separately or at www.hama.com.
- Factory settings: Resets the device to its original factory settings.
Factory Settings
ℹ️ Note: Resetting can resolve problems. Use a needle to press and hold the Reset button (13) for approx. 3 seconds. To reset via menu, navigate to System settings -> System -> "Factory settings".
ℹ️ Note: Resetting to factory settings will permanently delete all custom settings, including language and favourites.
Care and Maintenance
ℹ️ Note: Disconnect from mains before cleaning or during prolonged non-use.
- Clean with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
- For prolonged non-use, turn off the device, disconnect from power, and store in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight.
