Safety Precautions

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury, follow these guidelines:

  • Use this unit only as intended by the manufacturer.
  • Before servicing or cleaning, disconnect the range hood from the power supply.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised or instructed by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Installation and electrical wiring must be performed by qualified personnel in accordance with all applicable codes and standards, including fire-rated construction.
  • Ensure adequate air for proper combustion and exhausting of gases through the chimney of fuel-burning equipment to prevent back drafting.
  • When cutting or drilling into walls or ceilings, do not damage electrical wiring or other hidden utilities.
  • Duct fans must always be vented to the outdoors.
  • Comply with local authority requirements for exhaust air emission.
  • This unit must be grounded.
  • If local regulations require more restrictive installation and/or certification requirements, those requirements take precedence.
  • Clean the range hood frequently. Grease should not be allowed to accumulate on fans, filters, or exhaust ducts.

WARNING: In case of a range top grease fire, observe the following:

  1. Smother flames with a tight-fitting lid, cookie sheet, or metal tray, then turn off the burner. NEVER pick up a flaming pan – you may be burned.
  2. DO NOT USE WATER, including wet dishcloths or towels – this can cause a violent steam explosion.
  3. Use a fire extinguisher ONLY if you own a Class ABC extinguisher, know how to use it, the fire is small and contained, the fire department has been called, and you can fight the fire with your back to an exit.

WARNING: For general ventilation. Do not use to exhaust any hazardous or explosive materials and vapors. Keep gypsum spray, construction dust, etc., out of the range hood to avoid damage to motor bearings and noisy/or unbalanced fan blades. Your hood motor has a thermal overload that will automatically shut off the motor if it overheats; it will restart when it cools down. If the motor continues to shut off and restart, have the hood serviced. Always follow cooking equipment manufacturer’s requirements regarding ventilation needs. To reduce the risk of fire and to vent air properly, make sure to duct air outdoors – do not exhaust air into spaces within walls or ceilings or into attics, crawl spaces, or garages. It is recommended to wear safety glasses and gloves when installing, servicing, or cleaning the unit. Read product specification for additional information and requirements.

  • Measuring Tape
  • Double Sided Tape or Tape
  • Cross-Head Screwdriver Set
  • Electric drill and 8 mm drill bit

Preparation for Installation

Ventilation Mode:

  • Recirculation Mode: Uses a charcoal filter (mandatory). Odors and fumes are filtered and ventilated through the top vented hole; no exhaust pipe is needed.
  • Extraction Mode: You can install a 1.5m long aluminum exhaust pipe with a diameter of 120mm for extraction.

For best performance, use at least 60cm of straight ducting before any turns. Longer duct runs may require larger ductwork. Ensure the power is not connected before installation.

Installation (Extraction)

  1. Remove all protective polyfilm from the hood and/or parts.
  2. Recommended Installation Height: 65-75 cm above the cooktop for optimal extraction.
    • Required height above gas cooktop: 750 mm
    • Required height above electric cooktop: 650 mm
  3. Use a drill to cut a rectangular hole of 250*490 mm in the cabinet.
  4. Attach the damper to the range hood. Press the latch to the left of the grease filter and pull it down.
  5. Loosen the two screws on the front panel, pull down the front panel, and disconnect the lamp line. Open the power protection cover and unplug the connector. The front panel can then be removed.
  6. Insert the range hood into the rectangular hole in the cabinet. Use four 4*30mm screws to secure the range hood in the marked positions on the cabinet.
  7. Connect the LED light plug to the power protection box and close the cover. Reattach the front panel and secure it with two adjustment screws. Reinstall the aluminum grease filter.
  8. Connect the power and turn the LED lights on/off to test if all functions are working correctly.

NOTE: Ensure the tape on the damper is removed and check if the damper opens and closes freely. Otherwise, it may cause noise and vibration of the range hood.

Installation of Charcoal Filter (Recirculation)

  1. Charcoal filters capture odors. Remove the aluminum grease filter first by pressing the latch and pulling it down.
  2. Place the charcoal filter into the unit and twist it clockwise to lock it in place.
  3. To replace the charcoal filter, twist it counter-clockwise.

NOTES:

  • Ensure the charcoal filter is securely locked.
  • The suction power of the range hood will be reduced when the charcoal filter is installed.
  • The charcoal filter should be replaced every 2-4 months, depending on usage. Replace more frequently if your cooking style generates a lot of grease, such as stir-frying. These filters are not washable and cannot be reused. Refer to the installation instructions provided with the charcoal filter.

Operation

Always turn on the fan before you start cooking to create airflow in the kitchen. Let the fan run for a few minutes after turning off the hood to clear the air, keeping the entire kitchen clean and fresh.

Mechanical Push Button Controls:

  • Off Button: Used to turn off the fan.
  • Low Speed Button: For quiet air ventilation or simmering with minimal smoke and steam.
  • Medium Speed Button: For daily cooking.
  • High Speed Button: For high-heat cooking like wok cooking or when a lot of smoke and grease is produced.
  • Light Button: Press once to turn on the lighting. Press again to turn off the lighting.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the unit operates correctly. Before cleaning, disconnect the range hood from the power supply.

Grease Filter:

The grease filters should be cleaned frequently. They are dishwasher safe at high temperatures without detergent.

Charcoal Filter:

The charcoal filter should be replaced every 2-4 months, depending on usage. These filters are not washable and cannot be reused. Refer to the installation instructions provided with the charcoal filter.

Cleaning Stainless Steel:

  • Do: Clean regularly with a cloth or rag soaked in warm water and mild soap or liquid detergent. Specialized household cleaners for stainless steel can also be used.
  • Do Not: Use any steel wool or other scrapers for stubborn dirt. Do not use any harsh or abrasive cleaners. Prevent gypsum dust or other construction residue from reaching the hood. During construction/renovation, cover the range hood to ensure no dust adheres to the stainless steel surface.
  • Avoid when choosing detergent: Detergents containing bleach will attack stainless steel. Products containing chloride, iodide, bromide will degrade surfaces quickly. Flammable products like acetone, alcohol, ether, benzene are highly explosive and should never be used near a flame.

Cleaning Painted Finish:

Clean only with warm water and mild detergent. If discoloration occurs, use a finish polish like car polish. (DO NOT use a coarse abrasive or porcelain cleaner.)

LED Replacement

WARNING: Before cleaning, repairing, or replacing accessories, ensure the power is turned off to avoid electric shock, injury, or endangering life safety!

  1. Turn off the hood and unplug the electrical outlet. Remove the aluminum grease filter to access the LED lamp for replacement.
  2. Push out the LED lamp holder from the housing by hand, or use a screwdriver to pry up the LED lamp around the edges. Pull out the LED lamp and cable together.
  3. Open the power protection cover, unplug the connector, and replace it with the corresponding LED lamp model.
  4. Turn on the power and test all fan and light functions to ensure they are working correctly. Carefully insert the new LED lamp into the light socket, aligning it with the grooves on the lighting panel. Slide the LED lamp in until it is flush with the light panel.
  5. Reinstall the grease filter, and you are ready to go.
