Installation
Preparation for Installation:
a) If you have an external outlet, your range hood can be connected using an exhaust duct (enameled, aluminum, flexible pipe, or combustible material with an inner diameter of 150 mm). Choose a straight, short duct run for best performance. Minimize long duct runs, elbows, and transitions.
b) Turn off the unit and disconnect it from the power outlet before installation.
c) The range hood should be placed at a distance of 65-75 cm above the cooking surface for optimal effect.
Recommended Tools for Installation:
- Measuring tape
- Phillips screwdriver No. 2
- Flat head screwdriver
- Drill with 1/8" drill bit and 1½" hole saw
- Wood planks (2) and wood screws (4) (for standard installation in a framed cabinet)
- Saw (for cutting holes for ducted application)
- Sheet metal shears (for duct adjustment)
- Pliers (for duct adjustment)
- Metal foil duct tape
- Scissors (for cutting duct tape)
- Pencil
- Wire stripper
- Strain relief, 1/2" diameter (for securing house wiring cable)
CAUTION: Before proceeding with installation, check the contents of the box. Contact the manufacturer if any items are missing or damaged. Comply with all governing codes and regulations. Have a qualified technician install the range hood.
Installation of the Range Hood (VENT OUTWARD):
Remove all protective poly film. This product can be installed in two ways (Method 1 and Method 2).
Method 1:
- According to the 1:1 hole drawing for Method 1, drill two Ø8 mm holes on the wall (skip if the wall is wood and use screws directly).
- Install wall plugs and secure with 4*30mm screws, leaving a gap of 5-10 mm.
- Place the range hood onto the two screws and tighten securely.
Method 2:
- According to the 1:1 hole drawing for Method 2, mark positions under the cabinet and use a drill to open the air duct hole and the power cord hole.
- Align the air outlet of the range hood with the cabinet's ventilation hole, pass the power cord through the power hole, and use four 4*30mm screws to secure the range hood to the cabinet.
- If there is a gap between the range hood and the wall, install the back bracket using two 4*8mm screws, adjusting its position as needed.
- Place the aluminum flexible pipe onto the air outlet of the range hood and secure it with cable ties.
NOTES:
- Connect the duct to the range hood and use metal foil duct tape to secure and seal it.
- Ensure the damper assembly enters the duct and can open and close freely.
Installation of Activated Carbon Filter (VENT INWARD):
If you do not have an external outlet, the exhaust duct is not required. The installation is similar to the "VENT OUTWARD" section.
- The activated carbon filter captures odors. Remove the grease filter first by pressing the latch and pulling it down.
- Connect the activated carbon filter to the unit and twist it clockwise. Repeat for the other side.
- For replacement, turn in the anti-clockwise direction.
NOTES:
- Ensure the filter is locked securely.
- When the activated carbon filter is connected, the suction power will be lower.
- The activated carbon filter should be replaced every three months depending on usage.
Operation
Always turn on the range hood before cooking to create airflow. Let the hood run for a few minutes after cooking to clear the air.
Mechanical Rocker Switch
This is shown for the TELESCOPIC MODEL. You must pull out the push-pull plate before use.
- Light Button: Located on the left side of the hood.
- Speed Button: Located on the right side of the hood. '=': High speed, '-': Low speed, 'o': Off.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the correct performance of your range hood.
MOTOR
The motor is permanently lubricated and requires no further attention. If the motor bearings produce excessive or unusual noise, replace the motor and fan blade.
GREASE FILTER
The grease filter should be cleaned frequently. Use a warm dish detergent. Grease filters are dishwasher safe. Clean all metal filters in a dishwasher with a non-phosphate detergent. Discoloration may occur with phosphate detergents or due to local water conditions, but this does not affect filter performance. To minimize or prevent discoloration, hand wash filters with a mild detergent.
FAN BLADE
The fan blade should be cleaned frequently with a clean cloth soaked in warm detergent.
ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER
The activated carbon filter should be replaced every three months, or more often if your cooking style generates extra grease (e.g., frying, wok cooking). These filters are not washable and cannot be restored. Refer to the installation instructions for the activated carbon filter.
CLEANING STAINLESS STEEL
- Do: Wash regularly with a clean cloth or sponge soaked in warm water and mild soap or liquid dish detergent. Always clean in the direction of original polish lines. Rinse thoroughly with clean water (2 or 3 times) and wipe dry completely. Specialized stainless steel cleaners can also be used.
- Do Not: Use steel wool, stainless steel wool, or other scrapers for stubborn dirt. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaners. Do not let dirt accumulate. During construction/renovation, cover the range hood to prevent dust from settling on the stainless steel surface.
Avoid when choosing cleaning agents:
- Cleaning agents containing bleach will attack stainless steel.
- Products containing chloride, fluoride, iodide, bromide will rapidly degrade surfaces.
- Flammable products like acetone, alcohol, ether, benzene, etc., are highly explosive and should never be used near the heat surface.
PAINTED POLISH CLEANING:
Clean only with warm water and mild detergent. If discoloration occurs, use a polish such as car polish. Do NOT use coarse abrasive cleaners or porcelain cleaners.
REPLACEMENT OF LED
- Circular/Rectangle LED Lamp:
- To replace the LED lamp, remove the grease filter first by pressing the latch and pulling it down.
- Slide out the LED lamp holder, pull out the LED lamp and its wiring together. Open the power protection cover, unplug the connector, and replace the LED lamp with the corresponding model.
CAUTION: Before cleaning, repairing, or replacing accessories, be sure to turn off the power to avoid electric shock or injury.
