Husqvarna Automower 550 EPOS Quick Guide
System Overview
The EPOS system comprises a robotic lawn mower, a charging station, and a reference station. The robotic lawn mower and reference station receive satellite signals for positioning. The reference station is stationary and transmits correction data to the robotic lawn mower for precise positioning. The work area is defined virtually within an app by operating the product and adding waypoints to create a map.
Key components include:
- 1. Navigation satellites
- 2. Satellite signals
- 3. Reference station
- 4. Correction data
- 5. Charging station
- 6. Virtual boundary
- 7. Stay-out zone
- 8. Work area
- 9. Mobile device
- 10. Docking point
- 11. Transport Path
A complete map installation requires a work area and a charging station. A work area is an area where the product can operate and cut grass automatically, defined by virtual boundaries. The charging station can be placed within or near the work area and connected via a transport path. A transport path is a specified route between the docking point and a work area, allowing automatic operation without cutting grass. Stay-out zones can be created for areas where the product is not permitted to operate, also defined by virtual boundaries. A maintenance point is a specific location where the product can be parked.
Connectivity
- The Automower® Connect app is used for settings and daily operation of the product.
- Husqvarna Fleet Services™ is a cloud-based solution providing commercial fleet managers with an up-to-date overview of all products, available as a web service and an app.
Installation
For reliable and uninterrupted operation, the reference station and the robotic lawn mower require an unobstructed view of the sky.
- Install the Automower® Connect app and Husqvarna Fleet Services™ app on your mobile device. Download from the App Store or Google Play.
- Install the reference station. Refer to the Operator's manual for the reference station.
- Install the charging station.
- Pair the robotic lawn mower with the app.
- Pair the robotic lawn mower with the reference station in the app.
- Pair the robotic lawn mower with the charging station to set the docking point in front of it.
- Define the work area by operating the product clockwise with appDrive around the area and adding waypoints on the app map.
- Define stay-out zones by operating the product counter-clockwise with appDrive around the zone and adding waypoints on the app map.
- Define the transport path by starting in the work area and operating the product with appDrive, adding waypoints on the app map. Saving the path connects it to the docking point.
- Define the maintenance point and create a path to the charging station. Start at the maintenance point and use appDrive to add waypoints on the app map. The path to the charging station connects to the docking point upon saving.
- Use the app to adjust the schedule and settings for the robotic lawn mower.
For more information, consult the Operator's manual for the reference station and the robotic lawn mower.
System Diagram
The EPOS system utilizes navigation satellites (1) to send signals (2) to a reference station (3). The reference station provides correction data (4) to the robotic lawn mower (6) for accurate positioning. The mower operates within a defined work area (8), enclosed by virtual boundaries (6). It may use a transport path (11) to reach a charging station (5) or docking point (10). Stay-out zones (7) are designated areas where the mower should not operate. A mobile device (9) is used for setup and control.
Connectivity Diagram
The robotic lawn mower connects wirelessly (e.g., via Bluetooth) to a mobile device (A). This device then connects to the cloud, enabling access to the Automower Connect app and Husqvarna Fleet Services. Husqvarna Fleet Services provides a centralized overview of products. Apps can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play.
Installation Process Visualization
The installation process involves using the app (indicated by a mobile device) to guide the robotic lawn mower. The mower is shown moving around a lawn area, with dashed lines representing the virtual boundaries of the work area and stay-out zones. Arrows illustrate the mower's movement for defining these areas and a transport path, demonstrating the appDrive functionality.
