What's in the Box

The following items are included:

Setup: Connecting to Your Surround Speakers

Follow these steps to connect your SR1 Wireless Surrounds:

  1. 1. Placing or Mounting the Surrounds

Place the surround speakers on the left and right sides, equidistant from the main listening position. Ensure the speaker marked "L" is on the left and the speaker marked "R" is on the right. If you choose to mount the surrounds, refer to the provided wall mounting template for detailed instructions.

Diagram: A TV is shown above a soundbar. Two speakers labeled 'L' and 'R' are positioned on the left and right sides, respectively, relative to the listening area.
  2. 2. Connecting the Surrounds to an AC Outlet

Plug each surround speaker into a standard AC power outlet. A flashing green light will be visible on the back of the surrounds until they are manually synced with the soundbar and subwoofer.

Diagram: An AC outlet symbol is shown connected via a power adapter to a speaker. An arrow indicates the connection.
  3. 3. Verifying Your Connections

Turn on your TV and soundbar. Verify that you are seeing video and hearing sound from the soundbar. If you do not hear sound and no lights are visible on the front of your soundbar, press the power button on the soundbar to turn it on.

?Note: If you are hearing sound from both your TV and your soundbar, you must manually turn off your TV speakers using the Settings Menu on your TV. Please refer to your TV's owner's manual for instructions.

  4. 4. Syncing the Surround Speakers to the Soundbar

⚠️Note: You must sync BOTH surround speakers AND the subwoofer.

    Sync the Subwoofer

    1. Press the power button on the soundbar to turn it on.
    2. On the back of the SOUNDBAR, press and hold the SYNC button until you hear a tone (about 3-4 seconds), then release the button. The SUB and SURR lights above the SYNC button will flash green.
    3. On the back of the SUBWOOFER, press and hold the SYNC button until you hear a tone (about 10 seconds) and the light on the back of the subwoofer turns solid green.

    Sync the Surround Speakers

    1. On the back of EACH of the SURROUND SPEAKERS, press and hold the SYNC button until the light on the bottom of the speaker turns solid green (about 10 seconds).
    2. When BOTH LEFT and RIGHT surround speakers are paired to the bar, you will hear a tone from the bar.

⚠️NOTE: If you hear a two-note descending tone from the bar, syncing failed. Please try again.

Remote Control

The remote control allows you to manage various functions of your Polk audio system.

Visual Indicators

The front of the soundbar contains a horizontal row of lights that provide status indications, such as source, volume, and listening modes.

Diagram: A line representing the soundbar with multiple circles indicating status lights. Below this are diagrams for the 'Back of Bar', 'Back of Subwoofer', and 'Back of Surround Speakers', showing rows of dots representing indicator lights and their states (OFF, NOT CONNECTED, SOLID CONNECTED, FLASHING PAIRING MODE).

Optimizing Your Surround Speakers

Adjust the volume and balance of your surround speakers for the best listening experience.

Diagram: Shows soundbar lights and controls for volume and surround balance, with '+' and '-' symbols for adjustment and 'L' and 'R' for balance.

Wall Mounting

A wall mounting template is provided for wall mounting the SR1 Wireless Surround Speakers. For proper installation, please refer to the instructions printed on the template. Screws for attaching the surrounds to the wall are not included. Choose the screw type and length appropriate to your home's construction. If in doubt, consult a professional.

Diagram: Illustrates using the mounting template to mark holes on a wall. It shows a speaker being placed over installed hardware and secured in a keyhole slot.

Troubleshooting

I Don't Hear Sound from my Surround Speakers

  1. Verify that the left and right surround speakers are plugged into a power source.
  2. Check the green light on the back of each speaker:
    • If it is solid green, turn up the Surround Volume using the remote control.
    • If it is flashing green, you need to sync the surround speaker to the soundbar using the instructions in the 'Setup' section.
