Important Safeguards
When using your NutriBullet, basic safety precautions should always be observed.
Warnings
- To avoid any risk of electrical shock, never immerse the power base, cord or plug in water or other liquids.
- NEVER LEAVE THE NUTRIBULLET UNATTENDED WHILE IT IS IN USE.
- Close supervision is necessary when an electrical appliance is used by or near children. Keep cord out of reach of children.
Medical Safety & Interactions
Always consult your physician regarding health and nutrition concerns. If you are taking any medication, especially cholesterol lowering medication, blood thinners, blood pressure drugs, tranquilizers, or antidepressants, please check with your physician before trying any of the NutriBlast® recipes.
Bad Pits
Do not use the following seeds and pits in the NutriBullet®, as they contain a chemical that releases cyanide into the body when ingested: apple seeds and pits of cherries, plums, peaches and apricots.
General Usage and Safety
- Ensure local electrical specifications match the product before operation. Do not use with adapters or voltage converters.
- Do not pull, twist, or damage the power cord. Keep it away from hot surfaces. Periodically inspect the cord and plug for damage.
- If the appliance malfunctions, is dropped or damaged, contact Customer Service.
- Unplug the NutriBullet when not in use, before assembling/disassembling, adding parts, cleaning, or when operating moving parts.
- Do not use your NutriBullet outdoors or in inclement weather.
- NutriBullet parts are not intended for microwave ovens or freezers.
- Children aged 8 years and older, and persons with reduced capabilities, can use the appliance under supervision and with proper instruction.
- If the motor stops working, unplug and let it cool for an hour before re-use.
- Periodically inspect components for damage or wear. Discontinue use if damage is detected.
- Use only original NutriBullet® parts and accessories. Incompatible parts may cause damage or safety hazards.
Ventilation Safety
Ensure the power base has unobstructed space for proper air circulation to prevent overheating. Never place on flammable materials.
Heat and Pressure Safety
- DO NOT BLEND HOT INGREDIENTS OR LIQUIDS! Always start with room temperature or cooler ingredients (21°C or less).
- NEVER ALLOW THE NUTRIBULLET® TO RUN MORE THAN ONE MINUTE at a time. Blend in 1-minute intervals with 15-second breaks. Allow to cool after 3 consecutive intervals.
- NutriBullet BLUE 1000, MAX 1200-series and Rx are equipped with SMART Technology for automatic shut-off.
- The NutriBullet has an internal thermal breaker that shuts off the motor when it overheats. Unplug and let it cool for an hour.
- Never blend carbonated liquids or ingredients.
- Do not allow blended mixtures to sit in a sealed cup for long periods due to fermentation.
- After blending, allow contents to settle and release pressure by slowly unscrewing the cup from the blade assembly, pointing away from your body.
- Never touch the gears of the blade and the coupling in the basic unit with your hands.
- For nut butters or oil-based foods, blend in 20-30 second increments, tapping the cup and scraping down ingredients. Allow to cool after 4-5 cycles.
Blade Safety
- Blades are sharp! Use care while handling.
- Avoid contact with moving parts. Keep hands and utensils away from the blade while blending.
- Always inspect your blades before each use.
- Never store a blade in the power base without a blending cup attached. Never blend without liquid.
Cleaning & User Maintenance Instructions
Cleaning your NutriBullet is easy. Cups and accessories can be placed on the top shelf of the dishwasher. Blades and power base should not be washed in the dishwasher.
How to Clean Your NutriBullet:
- ALWAYS UNPLUG the power base from the power supply outlet.
- Ensure the blending cup/blade assembly is not attached to the power base.
- Clean individual components:
- POWER BASE: Wipe down with a damp cloth. Do not submerge in water or put in the dishwasher. Pay attention to the white actuator tabs.
- BLADES: Rinse immediately after each use. NEVER wash blades in the dishwasher. Never remove the gasket. Dry blades thoroughly. Replace blades if gasket is loose or damaged.
- NUTRIBULLET ACCESSORIES: Cups, pitchers, lids and liprings are top-rack dishwasher safe. Rinse before washing. Do not use the sanitize cycle.
Stubborn Clean Up
For dried ingredients, fill the container halfway with room temperature water and a little mild dish soap. Attach the extractor blade, place on the power base for 20-30 seconds to loosen debris. Scrub and rinse.
Maintenance Recommendation
Replace blades every six months or as needed for optimal performance.
Microwave & Stove-Top Heating Safety
After blending, transfer mixture to an unsealed microwave-safe container or to a stove-top pot to heat. Do not place any NutriBullet parts in a microwave, on a stove-top, or in boiling water.
