NutriBullet SmartSense Blender Combo User Guide

Important Safeguards

When operating your NutriBullet® device, always remember that safety comes first. Read all instructions before operating your NutriBullet® device. Basic safety precautions should always be observed.

General Use and Safety:

  • Never leave the NutriBullet® unattended while it is in use.
  • Do not place or operate your NutriBullet® on uneven or unstable surfaces.
  • To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the Motor Base in water or other liquid. Clean the Motor Base by gently wiping with a clean cloth.
  • Do not place any NutriBullet® part or accessory in a microwave, conventional oven, air fryer, or stovetop pot, or immerse in boiling water.
  • Do not place or operate your NutriBullet® on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Never wash your NutriBullet® parts or accessories using the sanitize or heat cycle of your dishwasher, as this can warp the part and create hazardous conditions.
  • Never place any NutriBullet® parts or accessories in the freezer.
  • Never attempt to defeat any safety interlock mechanisms on the appliance.
  • Remove and safely discard all packaging material or promotional labels before using the appliance for the first time.
  • Do not operate your NutriBullet® if any parts or accessories appear to be damaged. Contact Customer Service at 1 (800) 523-5993 if you suspect damage.
  • Do not use parts, accessories, or attachments from other manufacturers, different models of NutriBullet®, or Magic Bullet® products, or canning jars.
  • Always use genuine NutriBullet® attachments/accessories.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Always unplug your NutriBullet® when not in use. Grasp the plug, not the cord, to unplug.
  • Always power off and unplug the unit and wait until the Blade comes to a complete stop before assembling, disassembling, changing accessories, or cleaning.
  • The appliance has a polarized plug. If it does not fit properly, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug.

Blending with NutriBullet® Cups:

  • WARNING! NEVER BLEND HOT, WARM, OR CARBONATED INGREDIENTS OR LIQUID IN THE NUTRIBULLET® CUP! Heated or carbonated ingredients can pressurize the contents, causing the cup and blade to separate forcibly upon opening, potentially resulting in serious bodily injuries or property damage.
  • WARNING! NEVER BLEND FOR LONGER THAN ONE MINUTE. Friction from rotating blades can heat and pressurize contents. Continuous blending for more than one minute can cause the cup to separate from the blade, expelling heated ingredients and causing injury. Do not run consecutive one-minute blending cycles. Allow contents to settle for at least 10-15 minutes and release pressure by opening the cup slowly and carefully.
  • Do not blend anything carbonated or effervescent.
  • NOTE: Some protein powders include effervescent ingredients. Always check supplement ingredients before adding.
  • Do not overfill. Filling above the MAX line can result in leakage and create dangerous conditions.
  • Do not leave blended foods inside a sealed cup. Blended mixtures can spoil and ferment, increasing pressure. Use the To-Go Lid or transfer to a vented container for storage.
  • CUP CAUTION: NEVER attempt to open a sealed NutriBullet® Cup if it feels hot or warm to the touch. The contents may be heated and pressurized, which can cause the cup to violently separate when opened, potentially resulting in bodily injury and/or burns. If the cup feels hot or warm, take the following precautions: Stop blending, unplug the unit, leave the cup alone (do not touch or open), do not attempt to remove the cup from the motor base or twist off the extractor blade. Allow the cup to cool for at least 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, check if the cup is completely cooled. If still warm, give it more time. Once cool, slowly and carefully disengage the cup from the motor base, pointing it away from your face and body. Slowly untwist the extractor blade, releasing any residual pressure.
  • NEVER attempt to separate the cup from the extractor blade by forcing or prying. This can crack or shatter the cup, resulting in bodily injury.
  • NEVER handle a sealed NutriBullet® Cup if it feels hot or warm.
  • If the cup is cool, securely wrap or box it. Dispose of it in a covered outdoor trash container.
  • Always securely tighten the Extractor Blade to the Cup. An improperly tightened blade may lead to leakage. If a leak occurs, unplug the unit and wait for the blades to stop before removing the cup.
  • Always make sure the cup is securely locked onto the Motor Base before blending.
  • Do not overfill or exceed the MAX line.
  • Do not remove the cup while the unit is in operation.
  • NEVER operate your NutriBullet® with an empty cup attached.
  • Do not crush ice or overfill the cup with ice. Your NutriBullet® is not intended to be used as an ice crusher. Overfilling can jam the blade and cause the motor to overheat.
  • Always use sufficient liquid ingredients when blending.
  • Do not place any NutriBullet® parts or accessories on the bottom rack or use the heat/sanitize cycle in your dishwasher.
  • Cups, To-Go Lids, and other NutriBullet® parts or accessories are NOT microwave-safe.
  • Do not use the Extractor Blade as a storage lid, as it is not vented. Blended mixtures can ferment, increasing pressure and potentially causing separation.

Using the Blending Pitcher:

  • WARNING! ONLY USE THE BLENDING PITCHER WITH THE VENTED PITCHER LID TO BLEND HOT, WARM, OR CARBONATED INGREDIENTS. NEVER BLEND HOT, WARM, OR CARBONATED INGREDIENTS IN A NUTRIBULLET® CUP.
  • NEVER use your NutriBullet® Cups to blend hot, warm, or carbonated ingredients or liquids.
  • ALWAYS affix the Vented Pitcher Lid to the Blending Pitcher with the spout down and closed before blending to prevent ingredients from splashing or hot ingredients from splattering, which may cause burns or bodily injuries.
  • When blending hot ingredients, exercise caution when opening the Pitcher Lid and be mindful of escaping hot steam or splattering hot ingredients.
  • Do not overfill the Blending Pitcher beyond the MAX line.
  • Do not use the Blending Pitcher if you detect cracking, cloudiness, or other damage.
  • WARNING! TO INCORPORATE INGREDIENTS DURING BLENDING, carefully remove the lid cap from the pitcher lid and gently pour or drop ingredients into the mixture. Be especially mindful when adding to hot ingredients and liquids, as escaping steam or splatters may present a risk of injury. Always reinstall the vented lid cap after adding ingredients.
  • Always start the blending cycle on the low setting, increasing speed once ingredients are integrated and the mixture is level.
  • WARNING! NEVER USE A NUTRIBULLET® CUP ACCESSORY TO BLEND HOT, WARM, OR CARBONATED INGREDIENTS. Doing so may pressurize and expel the hot contents upon opening, resulting in serious bodily injury or damage.
  • General Blade Safety: WARNING! BLADES ARE SHARP! Handle with care to avoid bodily injury. Non-food items or hard ingredients may damage the blades. Routinely inspect the blades and discontinue use if the blades are damaged or do not rotate freely. Continued use with damaged blades or use inconsistent with these instructions may result in bodily injury, property damage, or damage to your unit.
  • NEVER store the unit with the blade exposed. Always cover the blade with the cup or pitcher lid. Exposed blades present a laceration hazard.
  • Always power off and unplug the unit and wait until the blade comes to a complete stop before assembling, disassembling, changing accessories, or cleaning.
  • Always securely tighten the extractor blade to the cup to prevent leakage.
  • Do not crush ice.
  • Do not overload the cup or pitcher.
  • Do not attempt to grind dry ingredients such as grains, cereal, or coffee.
  • AVOID CONTACT WITH MOVING PARTS! Keep hands and utensils out of and away from the blade.

Care & Maintenance

Follow these instructions to clean your NutriBullet®:

  1. Always power off and unplug the Motor Base from the power outlet when not in use. Only attempt to handle the appliance once all parts have stopped moving.
  2. Detach the NutriBullet® Pitcher or Cup from the Motor Base.
  3. Clean the individual components (Motor Base, Pitcher, and Cup) as recommended in the following pages.

NutriBullet® Pitcher:

  • Blades are sharp; use caution when cleaning.
  • The Pitcher is dishwasher-safe (top rack recommended). Rinse and briefly scrub with a dish brush to remove debris before washing. NEVER use the sanitize cycle, as high heat can warp the plastic.
  • If preferred, hand-wash the Pitcher with soap and water.
  • Regularly check the structure and threads for cracking, crazing, or breakage. If damaged, replace immediately.
  • WARNING! NEVER USE A PITCHER THAT DOES NOT PROPERLY ALIGN WITH THE BLADE.

Extractor Blade:

  • Blades are sharp; handle with care.
  • Clean blades immediately after each use. For stubborn buildup, use a small brush or sponge. Dry the Extractor Blade completely.
  • Do not remove any components of the Extractor Blade; this can result in permanent damage and leakage. If the blade becomes loose or damaged, order a new one from nutribullet.com or by contacting Customer Service at 1 (800) 523-5993.
  • Periodically inspect your Extractor Blade. If blades do not rotate freely or are damaged, discontinue use and contact Customer Service. For optimal performance, replace the blade every 6 months or as needed.
  • WARNING! Never leave the Extractor Blade exposed when storing. Always attach the Extractor Blade to the Pitcher for proper storage.

NutriBullet® Cups & To-Go Lids:

  • These items are top-rack dishwasher-safe. Rinse and briefly scrub with a dish brush before washing. NEVER use the sanitize cycle, as high heat can warp the plastic.

Tamper:

  • Always hand-wash the Tamper with soap and water.

Stubborn Cleanup:

If ingredients dry inside the NutriBullet® Cup or Pitcher, fill with room-temperature water to the liquid MAX line and add 1-2 drops of dish soap. For Cups, twist on the Extractor Blade and blend on LOW for 20-30 seconds. For the Pitcher, attach the Pitcher Lid with the Vented Lid Cap and blend on LOW for 20-30 seconds. This should loosen debris enough to scrub away with soap and water.

Storing:

Store the NutriBullet® Pitcher upright with the Pitcher Lid secured on top. Do not place anything on top of the Pitcher Lid. Store remaining pieces in a safe place.
