- Convert the perpetual licenses to the subscription-based right to use. (The same procedure applies for Extreme Management Center subscriptions also).
- Download the upgrade binaries of ExtremeCloud IQ – Site Engine and components.
- Ensure Pilot subscriptions are in place.
- Upgrade the Extreme Management Center to the ExtremeCloud IQ – Site Engine.
- Generate the license file and insert it to the ExtremeCloud IQ – Site Engine.

Release Notes And Documentation
- Read carefully the Release Notes for important information.
- Check the new licensing details.
- Review the communication overview for ExtremeCloud IQ – Site Engine sending to ExtremeCloud IQ in connected deployments.
- Upgrade to ExtremeCloud IQ – Site Engine version 21.11.10 is supported from Extreme Management Center 8.5.5, 8.5.6, 8.4.4 and ExtremeCloud IQ – Site Engine 21.4, 21.9. More details are available here.
- Check the Hardware and Operating System requirements.
- Follow the pre-installation checklist.
Convert the Extreme Management Center Licenses To Subscriptions
- ExtremeCloud IQ – Site Engine requires Pilot or Navigator subscriptions.
- Subscriptions are consumed through connection to ExtremeCloud IQ.
- Contact your local Extreme Networks representative to transition from a support contract model to a subscription model. Typically, there is no additional cost for this transition.
- A procedure is in place, which involves:
- Filling out a form with details.
- Running a workflow to calculate the appropriate number of Pilot & Navigator licenses or exporting data from Extreme Management Center.
- Considering planned upgrades or expansion.
- Considering planned new deployments and hardware refreshes.
- Reviewing existing service contracts.
- The result is the appropriate number of Pilot & Navigator entitlements available through your Extreme Portal account.
License Conversion Diagram Description: The diagram illustrates the license conversion process. Analytics and NMS licenses are converted to Pilot and Navigator subscriptions, respectively. Pilot subscriptions include Analytics features, while Navigator subscriptions are for network management. The conversion is influenced by factors such as the count of managed devices and the types of supported switches, third-party devices, or access points. Devices configured for Ping-Only do not require a license.
