2. Packaging Removal
The shredder is delivered on a pallet in a box. Use a pallet truck or forklift for removal. Carefully remove all packaging materials and verify contents. Inspect the shredder for any damage during transport and report it to the shipment forwarder and manufacturer if found. Place the shredder on a firm, sheltered surface and secure it to prevent movement. It is recommended to apply oil to the cutting blades before each use to extend their lifespan.

Operator Control Panel:
1. KEY SWITCH: Switches the shredder on/off.
2. EMERGENCY STOP: Stops all shredder components.
3. START BUTTON: Starts the shredder.
4. STOP BUTTON: Stops the shredder while running.
5. REVERSE BUTTON: Switches the direction of the shredding blades.
6. RUNNING INDICATOR: Lights up when the shredder is in operation.
7. CLEANING ICON: Lights up when the cutting blades cleaning function is activated (after pressing the REVERSE button for 6 seconds).
8. DOOR OPEN ICON: Lights up when the waste bin or media compartment door is open.
9. FULL ICON: Lights up when the shredded scrap bin is full.
10. OVERLOAD BAR: Displays the current engine load while running.
Destroyed Media Counter:
1. COUNTER: Enables the display of an erasable counter.
2. RESET: Press for 3 seconds to reset the erasable counter.
3. TOTAL: Enables the display of a non-resettable counter.
4. DISPLAY: Shows the current odometer reading.
4. Operation
- Place the shredder on a hard surface in the designated installation area.
- Secure the shredder against shifting by tightening the wheel brake bolts.
- Ensure the shredded scrap bin is in place and the compartment door is closed.
- Open both media input compartments.
- Plug the power cord into a power outlet.
- Insert the key into the key switch.
- Turn on the shredder using the key switch.
- Start the cleaning function by holding down the REVERSE button for 6 seconds.
- After cleaning, the shredder is ready for use. Place the storage device in the media input compartment and close it.
- Start the shredder by pressing the START button.
- The device operates in automatic mode. To shred another media, insert it into the media input.
- The shredder will stop after 5 minutes. Press the START button to restart.
- Stop the shredder by pressing the STOP button or opening the input media drawer.
- To restart the device after placing new media, press the START button.
- If the device is overloaded, the shredding knives will stop. To restart, open the OVERLOAD circuit breaker compartment, lift the breaker, and press the START button.
- If the EMERGENCY STOP button is pressed, the shredding knives will stop. To restart, raise the EMERGENCY STOP button to its original position and press the START button.
- To shut down the device, press the STOP button after the shredding cycle is complete, then use the key switch.
- Disconnect the power cord and wind it up.

*In newer versions of the machine, there is no need to spray the cutting blades with oil.
6. Destruction of Storage Media
The OMS500 shredder is designed to destroy various types of data carriers available on the market. It can shred media of different sizes. A maximum of one carrier can be shredded per cycle. This device is not intended for 3.5" server hard drives. If the desired shredded media size is not achieved, the material may need to be passed through the machine again. The ProDevice OMS500 shredder is not designed for continuous operation.
MANDATORY! Wear safety glasses at all times when working with the device.
DANGER! It is prohibited to open the device housing. Removing the housing poses a risk of electric shock, injury, serious injury, and/or death.
CAUTION! The shredder can always be stopped by operating:
- The STOP button.
- The EMERGENCY STOP button.
- The KEY switch.
7. Safety Precautions
- Read the operating manual before initial start-up, operation, and maintenance. Keep it for future reference.
- Service should only be performed by authorized personnel.
- Before use, check that all elements are installed according to the manual.
- Never attempt to open or modify the device.
- Report any malfunctions immediately to the responsible person for your safety and the safety of others.
- This device can be used by inexperienced individuals if provided with adequate supervision and safety instructions. Children should not play with the device.
- Before any adjustment, maintenance, or inspection, disconnect the power cord from the mains and wait for the shredder to cool down.
- If power is disconnected, ensure the machine is disconnected from all accessible power points.
- Do not store or use the device in places exposed to moisture or extreme temperatures.
- If the device will not be used for an extended period, disconnect the power cord.
- Disconnect the device from the power grid during an electrical storm.
- Do not allow liquids to enter the device.
- If the device overheats, turn it off and wait 30 minutes.
- The device requires a pallet truck or forklift for removal from the pallet. Secure it during transport.
- Never tamper with the shredder's blades. Do not place body parts or foreign objects into the media input.
- Do not place objects that could cause an explosion in the feeder tray, such as batteries, capacitors, or pressurized containers.
- Press the EMERGENCY STOP button if there is a risk to the operator or the device.
Safe operation requires proper connection to the electrical network according to applicable regulations. The electric shock protection system must comply with local standards. Connection should be made by a qualified specialist. The device has a motor temperature protection system. If the operating temperature is exceeded, a red diode will flash, and a buzzer will sound. Using the device in this state is prohibited and may cause damage. Wait for the device to cool down until the light and sound signals turn off.
8. Maintenance
CAUTION! Improper handling of the machine can lead to electric shock.
- Disconnect the power supply before relocation, cleaning, or maintenance.
- Wait 30 seconds after disconnecting the power plug before performing maintenance.
- Mechanical and electrical maintenance may only be performed by the manufacturer's authorized service.
- The device requires inspection by authorized service at least every 10,000 work cycles.
- In case of failure or interruption due to damage, contact the manufacturer's authorized service.
9. Possible Faults and Ways to Fix Them
