This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the ProDevice OMS900 shredder.
Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the ProDevice OMS900, a medium-duty office media shredder designed for the physical destruction of data carriers such as hard drives (HDD), solid-state drives (SSD), magnetic tapes, mobile phones, tablets, floppy disks, and more.
This user manual is an integral part of the device. Please read and understand the manual before operating the device. Keep the manual for future reference. DISKUS Polska Sp. z o. o., as the manufacturer, is not responsible for partial or complete non-compliance with this manual.
Strictly adhere to the operating instructions provided in this manual. Any deviations are inconsistent with the intended use of the shredder. The manufacturer is not liable for damages resulting from the misuse of the device.
Never attempt to modify the shredder. If the device is modified, the manufacturer is not responsible for its operation or safety. The manufacturer reserves the right to make design changes deemed necessary for improvement.

2. Unpacking
The shredder is delivered to the buyer on a pallet. Due to the device's weight, a pallet truck or forklift is required to remove it from the pallet. Carefully remove all packaging materials and check if the contents are complete. After removing packaging materials, immediately check (in the presence of the carrier) for any damage that occurred during transport. If the device or any accessories are damaged, report this to the carrier and the manufacturer.
After removing all packaging materials, place the shredder on a hard, level surface in the designated, protected installation area and secure it against movement.
3. Overview

Operator Control Panel
- KEY SWITCH: Turns the shredder on/off.
- EMERGENCY STOP BUTTON: Stops the shredder.
- START BUTTON: Initiates a 5-minute automatic shredding cycle.
- STOP BUTTON: Stops the shredder's operation.
- REVERSE BUTTON: Reverses the direction of the shredder's cutters.
- SHREDDER OPERATION INDICATOR: The "RUNNING" indicator lights up during operation.
- CLEANING ICON: Lights up after activating the cutter cleaning function by holding the REVERSE button for 6 seconds.
- DOOR OPEN ICON: Lights up when the waste bin door or media compartment door is open.
- FULL ICON: Lights up when the waste bin is full.
- OVERLOAD BAR: Displays the current motor load during operation.

Shredded Media Counter
- COUNTER: Activates the display of the resettable counter.
- RESET: Press and hold for 3 seconds to reset the resettable counter.
- TOTAL: Activates the display of the non-resettable counter.
- DISPLAY: Shows the current counter status.

4. Operation
- Place the shredder on a hard, level surface in the designated, protected installation area.
- Secure the shredder against movement by tightening the wheel brake screws.
- Ensure the waste bin is in its compartment and the compartment door is closed.
- Unfold the power cord and plug it into a mains socket.
- Insert the key into the key switch.
- Turn on the shredder using the key switch.
- Activate the cleaning function by holding the REVERSE button for 6 seconds.
- After cleaning, the shredder is ready for operation. Place a media item in the media slot and close it.
- Start the shredder by pressing the START button.
- The device operates in automatic mode. To shred another media item, insert it into the media slot.
- The shredder will stop after 5 minutes. To restart, press the START button.
- Pressing the STOP button will halt the shredder's operation.
- If the device is overloaded, the cutters will stop. To restart, open the OVERLOAD breaker cover on the left side of the device, lift the breaker, and then press the START button.
- If the EMERGENCY STOP button is pressed, the cutters will stop. To restart, return the EMERGENCY STOP button to its original position and then press the START button.
- To properly shut down the device after a shredding cycle, press the STOP button and use the key switch.
- Disconnect the power cord from the socket and wind it up.
5. Media Destruction
The OMS900 shredder is designed for destroying media carriers available on the market. Inserting media into the media slot allows for the destruction of various types of media and media of different dimensions.
A maximum of one media item can be destroyed per cycle.
If a satisfactory shredded media size is not achieved, the material should be re-shredded until the desired result is obtained.
The ProDevice OMS900 shredder is not intended for continuous operation.
6. Safety Precautions
Before initial startup, operation, and maintenance, familiarize yourself with this user manual and keep it for future use or for transfer to subsequent users.
- Servicing may only be performed by authorized personnel.
- Before using the device, check that all components are assembled according to the user manual.
- Never open and/or modify the device.
- If any malfunction is detected in the device, report it immediately to the responsible person. This is important for your safety and the safety of others.
- This device may be used by children aged 8 and above, and by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they are supervised or have been instructed on the safe use of the equipment and understand the associated hazards. Children should not play with the device. Unsupervised children should not perform cleaning or maintenance of the device.
- Before performing any assembly, maintenance, or control operations, always disconnect the device from the power supply by unplugging the power cord from the mains and wait for the device to equalize its temperature with the surroundings.
- If the power is disconnected, the operator must be able to see that the machine is disconnected (the power cord is unplugged and remains unplugged) from any point of access. If this is not possible due to the machine's construction or installation, ensure disconnection via a locking system in the disconnected position. Do not store/use a demagnetizer in places where it may be exposed to moisture or temperatures exceeding the allowed limits.
- If the device will not be used for an extended period, disconnect its power cord from the mains.
- Disconnect the device from the local power grid during a thunderstorm.
- In case of overheating, turn off the shredder and wait 30 minutes.
- Due to the device's weight, a pallet truck or forklift is required to remove it from the pallet.
- Secure the device during transport using transport belts or other means to ensure mechanical stability.
- Never manipulate the shredder's blades by inserting any body parts or foreign objects into the media slot.
- Do not place any objects in the media slot that could cause an explosion risk: this includes batteries (rechargeable and non-rechargeable), electrical capacitors, and pressurized containers.
- In case of danger to the operator or the device, press the EMERGENCY STOP button.
- Safe operation of the shredder requires proper connection to the electrical network, which must be carried out in accordance with applicable regulations. The electrical shock protection system in the shredder must comply with regulations applicable at the place of destination. The shredder should be connected to the electrical network by a qualified specialist.
- The device is equipped with a motor temperature protection system. If the permissible motor operating temperature is exceeded, a red LED on the upper housing will light up and flash. Additionally, a buzzer will sound periodically. Operating the device in this state is prohibited and may lead to damage. To continue operation, wait for the device to cool down – the light and sound signals will turn off.
7. Maintenance
Before relocating, cleaning, or performing maintenance, unplug the power cord from the power supply.
Before starting maintenance, wait 30 seconds after unplugging the mains cord.
Mechanical and electrical maintenance may only be performed by the manufacturer's authorized service personnel.
The device requires inspection by the manufacturer's authorized service at least every 10,000 operating cycles.
In case of failure or interruption of operation due to damage to the device or any of its components, contact the manufacturer's authorized service.
8. Troubleshooting
Below are descriptions of common faults and the required user actions:
