Thank you for your purchase of the Furrion Aurora® Landscape Speaker System. This system is designed to provide many years of enjoyment and is built to withstand harsh weather conditions.
IMPORTANT: Correct Wiring is Crucial
Polarity is essential: The positive (+) wire MUST be connected to the positive (+) terminal, and the negative (–) wire MUST be connected to the negative (–) terminal. Incorrect connections will compromise sound quality, resulting in a lack of bass.
Direct burial cables often have markings (e.g., lettering or ribbing) to distinguish conductors. Use one as positive and the other as negative, similar to wiring in a house or automobile.
Furrion recommends using multi-strand direct burial wire. The appropriate wire gauge depends on the length of the run. Consult the chart below for recommendations.
Speaker Wire Recommendation Chart
Maximum Wire Length (ft) | Recommended Gauge |
---|---|
100 | 18 |
150 | 16 |
250 | 14 |
400 | 12 |
650 | 10 |
Diagram Description: A table titled "Speaker Wire Recommendation" lists maximum wire lengths in feet and the corresponding recommended wire gauge.
Wire Color Coding
Subwoofer:
- Left positive (+): Red
- Left negative (–): Black
- Right positive (+): White
- Right negative (–): Green
Satellite Speakers:
- Positive (+): Red
- Negative (–): Black
Diagram Description: A simplified wiring diagram illustrates connections from a receiver/amplifier to LEFT and RIGHT speakers and a SUBWOOFER. It shows parallel connections and indicates wire colors for the subwoofer (Red Left+, Black Left-, White Right+, Green Right-).
Connection Warnings
- DO NOT connect your receiver or amplifier to an AC power outlet until all speakers are connected.
- DO NOT connect speaker wires to the amplifier before all other connections are complete.
- Ensure no stray positive (+) and negative (–) wire strands touch each other, as this could damage the receiver or amplifier.
It is critical that the wire connected to the positive (+) terminal of the receiver/amplifier is also connected to the positive (+) terminal of the speakers, and similarly for the negative (–) terminals.
Wiring Procedure
Use only the provided waterproof wire nuts to ensure secure, water-resistant connections.
The subwoofer features a dual voice coil with separate connections for the right and left channels. Ensure correct polarity for both channels.
Connect speakers independently for the right and left channels.
For multiple speakers, bundle all right channel positive (+) wires together from the first speaker and connect the remaining speakers similarly. Repeat this process for the left channel negative (–) wires.
Run wires to the next speaker and connect them using the same procedure.
Subwoofer Wiring Example
Diagram Description: A detailed wiring diagram shows a stereo amplifier with LEFT and RIGHT channels. These channels are wired in parallel to a Subwoofer and two Optional Satellite Expansion Pairs. The diagram shows the amplifier's positive (+) and negative (–) terminals for Left and Right channels. The Subwoofer has labeled terminals for Left+ (Red wire), Left- (Black wire), Right+ (White wire), and Right- (Green wire). The optional satellite speaker pairs are also connected in parallel to the amplifier outputs, following the same polarity and color conventions where applicable. The diagram emphasizes "PARALLEL CONNECTIONS".
