Outdoor Security Wi-Fi Camera
This guide provides instructions for setting up your Tapo Outdoor Security Wi-Fi Camera.

Appearance
Front Panel
The front panel typically houses the camera lens and an IR LED for night vision.
Bottom Panel
The bottom panel usually contains ports for power and network connection, a reset button, and a speaker. It also features a slot for a microSD card for local storage.

Set Up Camera
STEP 1: DOWNLOAD APP
Get the Tapo app from the App Store or Google Play.
Scan the QR code to download the app.
STEP 2: POWER UP
Plug in the power adapter to power up your camera.
STEP 3: SET UP
Tap the ⚙ button in the Tapo app and select your camera model. Follow the in-app instructions to complete the setup.
Wall Mounting Instructions
1. Drill Holes
Use the provided mounting template to mark the desired mounting location. Drill three screw holes according to the template.
2. Mount Camera
Insert the anchors into the drilled holes. Use the provided screws to affix the camera securely over the anchors.
Note: After mounting, connect the camera to a power outlet using the provided power adapter.
Install Waterproof Cable Attachments
For outdoor installations, install the waterproof cable attachments for the network interface. Ensure all parts are securely attached and the waterproofing rings are flush to prevent water ingress.
Installation Steps:
- Route the network cable through the fix nut, waterproof ring, and then the waterproof jacket in that order.
- Insert the waterproof ring into the waterproof jacket.
- Attach the O-ring to the network interface of the camera and connect the network cables.
- Connect the network interface to the waterproof jacket and twist to lock. Rotate the fix nut to secure it to the waterproof jacket.
The network interface is now waterproof.
Install Waterproof Seal for Power Connectors
For outdoor installations, install the waterproof seal for the power connectors.
FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Q1. What should I do if I fail to configure Tapo Camera?
Refer to the Tapo camera website or the Tapo app for troubleshooting steps. You can also follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer.
Q2. What should I do if the SD card is not working properly?
- Ensure you are using a microSD card.
- It is recommended to use a Class 10 microSD card or higher, with storage from 8 GB to 512 GB.
- Initialize the microSD card within the Tapo app.
- If the problem persists, contact technical support.
Q3. How do I reset the camera?
- Wi-Fi Reset: With the camera powered on, press and hold the Reset button for approximately 5 seconds until the System LED blinks red quickly. This resets Wi-Fi settings while keeping other configurations.
- Factory Reset: Press and hold the Reset button for 10 seconds to perform a factory reset. Alternatively, open the Tapo app, navigate to Camera Settings, and remove the camera to factory reset it.
