Getting Started with Your Tapo Camera
This guide provides essential steps to set up your Tapo Home Security Wi-Fi Camera.
Step 1: Download the Tapo App
To begin, download the Tapo app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. You can scan the provided QR code for a direct download link.
Step 2: Power Up Your Camera
Connect your camera to a power source. Wait for the LED indicator to blink red and green, signifying it's ready for the next step.
Step 3: Set Up Your Camera
Open the Tapo app, tap the '+' button, select your camera model, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process.
LED Indication Guide
- Solid red: Starting up
- Blinking red and green: Ready for setup
- Blinking red slowly: Connecting to Wi-Fi
- Solid amber: Connected to Wi-Fi
- Solid green: Connected to TP-Link Cloud server
- Blinking red quickly: Camera resetting
- Blinking green quickly: Camera updating
Mounting Kit
The package includes a mounting template, screws, and anchors for easy installation.
Mounting Instructions
- Mark Position: Place the template where you want the camera. For wall mounting, drill two holes through the indicated circles.
- Affix Screws: Use the mounting screws. For wall mounting, insert anchors into the holes first, then screw in the screws.
- Secure Camera: Hang your camera securely on the installed screws.
Appearance and Features
- Reset Button: Press and hold the reset button for at least 5 seconds while the camera is powered on until the LED blinks red to reset the camera.
- microSD Card Slot: Insert a microSD card for local recording and initialize it via the Tapo app.
