Article 1.1.1 – GM Dealer Parts and Accessories Warranty
GM warrants parts and accessories only to the Service Agent, and it will reimburse the Service Agent for repair or replacement of any defective or malfunctioning part or accessory. The Service Agent warrants parts or accessories to the purchasers in accordance with the terms and conditions of the GM Service Agent Service Replacement Parts and Accessories Warranty.
It is recommended that Service Agents publish on the job card or parts sales slip a Replacement Parts and Accessories Warranty statement to purchasers.
This warranty is applicable to all GM parts and accessories purchased through a GM Service Agent. Specific parts and accessories may be covered by other Parts and Accessories Warranties. See warranty certificate for specific coverage.
All new or remanufactured GM Parts and Accessories installed by Service Agent under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, Emissions Warranty or Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac, and BrightDrop optional Extended Limited Warranty or 100% Policy are covered, parts and labor, for any remaining unused portion of such warranty, or 12 months/unlimited miles, whichever is greater.
Responsibility rests with the Service Agent to ensure the correct part(s) are being used and the part(s) are not damaged or defective prior to installation. If the part(s) are found to be damaged (out of the box), the Service Agent is to file a Parts Return with GMCCA for a replacement part or credit. The part should not be installed and claimed to be defective with the Service Agent submitting a claim for labor and part(s).
Seals and Gaskets - Failures within 6 months of installation are not covered by the parts warranty (rationale is the gasket or seal was either damaged upon installation or the mating surface(s) were improperly prepared). Failures after 6 months and up to 24 months are covered by the parts warranty (rationale is the gasket or seal was properly installed and the surfaces were correctly prepared).
Keyless entry batteries (or other remote transmitter/receiver batteries) and exterior incandescent bulbs are covered up to 24 months. Replacement after 24 months is considered maintenance and is not covered under the replacement parts warranty.
WARRANTY TERMS (EFFECTIVE FOR PURCHASES ON/AFTER APRIL 1ST, 2018)
Passenger Cars and Light Duty Trucks
Service Agent Installed – Most service parts carry a 24 months/unlimited miles, whichever occurs first, from the date of installation (parts and labor). Refer to ACDelco.com for specific part warranty coverage. Subsequent replacements under this warranty will still be covered with the remaining terms based on the date of the original purchased part.
Most GM parts and accessories sold and permanently installed on a GM vehicle by a GM Service Agent or approved Accessory Distributor/Installer (ADI) prior to delivery will be covered under the applicable portion (Bumper to Bumper, Powertrain, etc.) of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. In the event GM parts and accessories are installed after vehicle delivery, or are replaced under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, they will be covered for parts and labor, for the balance of the applicable portion of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, but in no event less than 12 months/unlimited miles.
Sold Over-the-Counter – The warranty period for most service parts is 24 months from the date of original customer purchase (parts only). Refer to ACDelco.com for specific part warranty coverage. Subsequent replacements under this warranty will still be covered with the remaining terms based on the date of the original purchased part.
GM Accessories sold over-the-counter, or those not requiring installation, will receive the standard GM Service Agent Parts Warranty of 12 months from the date of original sale (parts only).
For parts purchased prior to April 1st, 2018, warranty term is 12 months/unlimited miles.
Medium Duty Trucks
Service Agent Installed – The warranty period for most service parts is 24-months from the date of installation (parts only). Refer to ACDelco.com for specific part warranty coverage. Subsequent replacements under this warranty will still be covered with the remaining terms based on the date of the original purchased part.

Warranty Does Not Cover
- Conditions resulting from negligence, alteration, accident or use for which the part or accessory was not designed or approved by GM.
- Parts replaced per normal maintenance or due to wear out.
- Parts and accessories used in racing or other competition.
- Loss of time, inconvenience, loss of use of the vehicle or other consequential damages.
- Parts expediting expenses, including markup from obtaining parts through other GM dealerships.
- Courtesy transportation (rentals, shuttles or other forms of alternate transportation).
- On over-the-counter sales (exception: GM engine and transmission assemblies), labor reimbursement for removal/repair/replacement/reinstallation of the malfunctioning part or accessory.
- GM Licensed Accessories and Associated Accessories are covered under the accessory-specific manufacturer's warranty and are not warranted by GM or its dealers. See Article 1.3.4 for specific provisions to cover GM dealer labor for repairs to Associated Accessories warranted by the applicable accessory manufacturer.
Article 1.1.2 – Consumer Parts and Accessories Warranty
The following Warranties are in addition to the 24 month/unlimited miles Service Agent warranty applicable on all GM service replacement parts and accessories covered with the exception of ACDelco Silver (Advantage) Products that are covered for 12 months/unlimited miles. These warranties only apply when purchased as a retail transaction (retail Transaction defined as customer paying for all or any portion of a transaction). Policy adjustments where the purchaser participates in a portion of the expense, and repairs covered by service contracts, are eligible for the longer consumer warranty. Parts replaced under 100% policy adjustments where the customer is not paying for any portion of the expense are covered for 12 months/unlimited miles.
Subsequent replacements under this warranty will still be covered with the remaining terms based on the date of the original purchased part.
