Intex Recreation Corp. Recall Notice
Date: July 21, 2025
Subject: Recall Notice; Remedial Action Needed
Important Safety Information
Dear Valued Customer,
Intex Recreation Corp. ("Intex") is voluntarily recalling certain above-ground pools 48-inches and taller in height that were sold from 2002 to 2012. These pools may contain compression straps that run on the outside of the pool legs. The compression strap maintains the structural integrity of the pool. The compression strap on the affected pools surrounds the exterior wall and the support legs of the pool, which a child may use as a foothold to gain access to the pool, posing a drowning hazard.
Our records indicate that you may have purchased a recalled above-ground pool. Please read the following information closely and register for a free repair kit if your pool is affected.
Beginning in 2013, 48-inch and taller Intex-branded pools have been manufactured with a compression strap that runs internally between the pool wall and the support legs to eliminate the potential foothold. This recall involves your pool only if it was purchased prior to 2013 and is still in use.
What Should You Do?
The first step is to determine if your product is affected by this recall. Pool models 48 inches and taller that are included in this recall are listed below:
Intex Models Sold 2002 to 2012
- 48" and 52" Metal Frame Pools
- 48" and 52" Ultra Frame Pools
Costco Items Included in Recall
Item Number | Description | Sales Years |
---|---|---|
602193 | 16x48 Pool | 2013 |
232379 | 16x48 Ultra Frame Pool | 2009 - 2013 |
257331 | 18x52 Frame PL | 2009 |
133752 | Intex 18x52 Frame | 2008 |
The model number of Intex-brand pools sold since 2004 is printed on the side of the pool liner under or near the warning label. The model number identifies the height of your pool, pool type, and the year it was manufactured. For example, a model number like "A 18' X 48" MF B02 04 R0" indicates:
- Pool height: 48"
- Pool Type: MF (Metal Frame)
- Production Year: 2004
Important Note: Intex-brand pools 48 inches and taller with compression straps running on the inside of the vertical legs are not included in this recall. Pool models of less than 48 inches are also not included in this recall.
Visual Identification of Compression Straps
Recalled Pools: Feature compression straps on the outside of the pool legs, which can create a foothold.
Not Recalled Pools: Feature compression straps on the inside of the pool legs, or do not have this specific strap design.
