Water Drainage

Water Tank Drain

A water tank collects water, enhancing mobility. Tank volumes: 5.5 L/1.45 Gal for CHWA80A/CHWA120A; 9 L/2.38 Gal for CHWA150A/CHWA150PA.

Diagram shows a water tank with Spill-Proof Cover, Water Tank Floater, and Lift Handle.

Full Tank Protection

A built-in floater triggers a sensor when the water tank is full, automatically shutting off the unit to prevent overflow. Ensure the tank is properly reinserted after emptying; otherwise, the floater may remain in the "full" position, and the unit will not resume operation.

Tank Cleaning

Recommended to empty and clean the water tank each time before use.

Cleaning Steps:

  1. Use both hands to grasp the tank by its connection points and slide it outward.
  2. Lift the tank handle and take it to a sink to pour water out.
  3. Put down the handle and place the water tank back into its compartment.

How to Remove the Spill-Proof Cover

  1. Align the locking tab with the release slot, wiggle the handle side to side to detach from securing brackets.
  2. Loosen two locking tabs on top, then four on the sides of the tank.
  3. Grip the cover through the opening and lift straight up.

Gravity Drain Option

Connect the drain port to a drain hose for continuous water outflow using the included gravity drain hose or a standard garden hose (NOT Included).

Diagram shows steps to connect the hose:

  1. Locate the drain port on the back. Hold the drain cap and turn counterclockwise to remove.
  2. Remove the drain plug from inside the port.
  3. Insert the included drain hose into the port and twist counterclockwise to secure.

Diagram shows correct hose placement (downward) and incorrect placement (kinked, upward).

Note:

Pump Drain (ONLY for Pump Model: CHWA150PA)

The CHWA150PA model has a built-in pump and pump drain hose for upward or long-distance drainage.

Diagram shows steps to connect the pump drain hose:

  1. Locate the pump drain port on the back of the unit.
  2. Align the included pump drain hose with the port.
  3. Insert the hose all the way into the port until it clicks securely into place.

To disconnect: Do not pull the hose directly. Press the gray release tab on the port connector, then simultaneously pull the hose out.

Important Notes:

Troubleshooting

If problems persist, disconnect the dehumidifier and contact Waykar Customer Service.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Unplug the dehumidifier before servicing or cleaning.

Exterior Cleaning

Use a soft, damp cloth with neutral detergents to wipe clean. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals. Do not spray water directly on the device. Pay attention to air inlets and outlets to remove dust or debris.

Filter Cleaning

The filter needs cleaning after approximately 250 hours of operation (indicated by the Filter Cleaning indicator light ⚙️).

  1. The filter is in the top compartment at the back.
  2. Locate the opening, tap, and gently pull the filter outward.
  3. Brush off dust/debris, rinse thoroughly, and let it dry completely (avoid direct sunlight).
  4. Insert bottom tabs into slots, then press down on the top until tabs snap into place.

Device Storage

For extended periods of non-use, follow these steps to preserve performance and lifespan:

  1. Unplug the unit and allow it to cool.
  2. Empty and clean the water tank, detach and clean the drain hose and port.
  3. Clean and dry the filter.
  4. Organize the power cord using the attached strap.
  5. Cover the device with a breathable cloth to protect it from dust.
  6. Store in a dry, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight.

Warnings Regarding the R32 Refrigerant

This dehumidifier contains R32, a flammable refrigerant. Operators and maintenance personnel must hold a valid certificate for safe refrigerant disposal. Repairs and maintenance must adhere to manufacturer guidelines and be supervised by qualified personnel.

Transportation, marking, and storage for units with flammable refrigerants:

Requirements for operation, service, and installation manuals of appliances using flammable refrigerants:

Information and training:

No ignition sources: Keep ignition sources (including smoking) far from work areas where refrigerant may be released. Survey area for flammable hazards. Display "No Smoking" signs.

Ventilated area: Ensure the area is open or adequately ventilated before and during work. Ventilation should disperse released refrigerant.

Checks to the refrigerating equipment: Electrical components must be fit for purpose. Follow manufacturer guidelines. For FLAMMABLE REFRIGERANTS, check refrigerant charge vs. room size, ventilation, secondary circuits, markings, and component protection against corrosion.

Checks to electrical devices: Include initial safety checks and component inspection. If a fault compromises safety, disconnect power until resolved. Temporary solutions are acceptable if operation must continue, but must be reported. Initial safety checks include discharging capacitors, ensuring no live components are exposed, and checking earth bonding continuity.

Repairs to sealed components: Disconnect electrical supplies before removing sealed covers. Use permanently operating leak detection if power is necessary. Replace sealed electrical components.

Repair to intrinsically safe components: Do not apply permanent inductive or capacitance loads without ensuring they meet equipment specifications. Replace intrinsically safe components only with manufacturer-specified parts.

Cabling: Check cabling for wear, corrosion, pressure, vibration, sharp edges, and environmental effects. Consider aging and vibration from compressors/fans.

Detection of flammable refrigerants: Do not use open flames (halide torch) for leak detection. Electronic leak detectors are acceptable but may require calibration for FLAMMABLE REFRIGERANTS. Ensure detectors are not ignition sources and are suitable for the refrigerant. Calibrate detectors in a refrigerant-free area. Set detectors to a percentage of the LFL and calibrate for the specific refrigerant. Detergents containing chlorine should be avoided as they can react with refrigerant and corrode copper pipes. If a leak is suspected, remove all naked flames. If brazing is required for a leak, recover or isolate refrigerant from the system.

Removal and evacuation: Conventional procedures are used for breaking into refrigerant circuits, but best practice is crucial for flammable refrigerants. Follow procedures for safe refrigerant removal, purging, evacuation, and oil draining.

Charging procedures: Ensure no contamination of refrigerants. Use shortest possible hoses. Keep cylinders in correct position. Earth the system before charging. Label system upon completion. Do not overfill. Pressure-test with purging gas before recharging. Leak-test upon completion and before leaving the site.

Decommissioning: Technician must be familiar with equipment. Recover refrigerants safely. Take oil and refrigerant samples if analysis is required. Ensure electrical power is available. Familiarize with equipment, isolate electrically, and ensure conditions are safe before proceeding.

Labelling: Equipment must be labelled as decommissioned and emptied of refrigerant, dated, and signed. For FLAMMABLE REFRIGERANTS, labels must state this.

Recovery: Recommended to remove refrigerants safely. Use appropriate recovery cylinders, ensuring correct number and designation. Cylinders must have pressure-relief valves and shut-off valves. Empty cylinders should be evacuated and cooled. Recovery equipment must be in good working order with instructions. Consult manufacturer if in doubt. Calibrated weighing scales and leak-free hoses are necessary. Process recovered refrigerant according to local legislation. Do not mix refrigerants. Evacuate compressors/oils to remove flammable refrigerant. Do not heat compressor body with open flame.
