Disclaimer and Safety Guidelines

1. DO NOT look directly into the drone light.
2. DO NOT treat the product as household waste.
3. DO NOT fly above or near obstacles, crowds, open water, public road, high voltage power lines or trees.
4. DO NOT use the drone in severe weather conditions. These include wind, snow, rain, smog, hail, lightning, tornadoes or hurricanes.
5. Stay away from the rotating propellers and motors to avoid small objects (e.g., hair) getting into them.
6. This product is not a toy and is not recommended for users under age 14.
7. Please maintain line of sight of your drone at all times. Please do not only rely on first-person view camera to control your drone.
8. This drone does not come with a GPS module. Please fly the drone within the control range.
9. This product is not applicable to professional aerial drone photography.
10. Be sure to observe all local regulations, obtain appropriate authorizations, and understand risks. It is solely your responsibility to comply with all flight regulations.

Snaptain accepts no liability for damage, injury, or any legal responsibility incurred directly or indirectly from the use of this product. The user shall observe safe and lawful practices, including but not limited to, those set forth in these Safety Guidelines. Snaptain reserves the right to update this user manual.

Maintenance and Care

1. Thoroughly check the drone after a crash or violent impact.
2. Do not charge the battery before it cools down.
3. Remove the batteries if the product will not be in use for a long time.
4. Do not overcharge the battery. Unplug the charger once it is fully charged.
5. Store the drone and remote in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
6. Avoid direct contact of the camera with water or other liquids. Wipe dry with a soft absorbent cloth if it gets wet.
7. Do not charge the battery next to inflammables, such as carpet, timber floor, etc., or on the surface of electro-conductive objects. Always keep an eye on the battery while charging.
8. Please use the original battery provided. Use of an incorrect type of battery may lead to fire hazards.
9. Do not dispose of the battery in fire or a hot oven; cut or mechanically crush the battery, as this may cause explosions.
10. Do not leave the battery in an extremely high-temperature environment that can result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
11. Do not expose the battery to extremely low air pressure, as this may result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.

Flight Preparation

1. Install the remote batteries (4x 1.5V AA, not included). Ensure batteries have enough power.
2. Install the landing skids to the bottom of the drone, then tighten the screws.
3. Install the propeller protectors into the drone, then tighten the screws.
4. Install the drone battery after it's fully charged. (Charging: Red LED, Fully Charged: Green LED). Use a 5V 2A/1A charger.

Tips:

• For your safety, please use the original battery and USB cable.
• Flight time may be reduced in cold weather.
• Keep the battery away from sharp objects to avoid puncture, explosion, and fire.
• A continuous beeping sound from the remote indicates low drone battery.
• To extend battery lifespan, recharge it at least once every three months if not used for long periods.

Flight Operation Guide

Fly the Drone with the Remote

Important:

• Power on the drone first, then the remote for each flight.
• Repeat the pairing procedure each time the drone or remote is restarted.
• Ensure the operator and tail of the drone are aligned for all flight functions and modes.
• Fly the drone in open air after gaining sufficient experience.

Pair the Remote with the Drone

Step 1: Turn on the drone, then the remote. Drone LEDs will flash. Place the drone on a flat surface with the head forward.

Step 2: Push the Left Control Stick forward to the top, then pull it backward to the bottom. Pairing is successful when the drone LEDs turn solid from a quick flash.

Flight Calibration

Move both control sticks to the lower right at a 45° angle and hold for 2-3 seconds after pairing. Calibration is complete when the drone LEDs turn solid from a quick flash.

Instructions of the Remote

Left Control Stick:

• Push the Left Control Stick forward, and the drone will ascend; pull it backward, and the drone will descend.
• Pull the Left Control Stick leftward, and the drone will rotate to the left; pull it rightward, and the drone will rotate to the right.

Right Control Stick:

• Push the Right Control Stick forward, and the drone will fly forward; pull it backward, and the drone will fly backward.
• Pull the Right Control Stick leftward, and the drone will fly leftward; pull it rightward, and the drone will fly rightward.

Altitude Hold/Hover

When the Left Control Stick is released after ascending/descending, the drone hovers at the current height. Use trim buttons for stable flight.

Flight Trimming

• If the drone drifts forward or backward, slightly press the Backward Trim or Forward Trim button.
• If the drone drifts leftward or rightward, slightly press the Rightward Trim or Leftward Trim button.

Take-off

• Option 1: Press the [Take-off/Landing] button.
• Option 2: Move the Left Control Stick to lower left at 45° and the Right Control Stick to lower right at 45° simultaneously until rotor blades rotate, then slowly push the Left Control Stick forward.

Landing

• Option 1: Press the [Take-off/Landing] button during flight.
• Option 2: Pull the Left Control Stick backward to the bottom and hold for at least 3 seconds until rotor blades stop rotating.

360° Flip

Fly the drone over 2 meters high, press the 360° Flip button, and move the Right Control Stick forward/backward/leftward/rightward to flip the drone accordingly.

One Key Return & Headless Mode

One Key Return: Long press the [One Key Return] button; the drone flies towards its back, parallel to its original take-off path. Long press the button again or push the Right Control Stick forward to cancel.

Headless Mode: Press the [Headless Mode] button to activate. The drone flies according to the Right Control Stick's direction, regardless of the drone's head or tail position. Press the button again to exit.

Standard Mode vs. Headless Mode:

• Standard Mode: Drone flies based on its head and tail orientation.
• Headless Mode: Drone flies based on the remote control's orientation.

High-speed Rotation & Circle Fly

• High-speed Rotation: Press the [High-speed Rotation] button to rotate the drone at high speed. Press again or move the Right Control Stick to exit.
• Circle Fly: Within a 5M radius in an open area, long press the [Circle Fly] button to make the drone fly in circles. Long press again or move the Right Control Stick to exit.

Speed Switch

The drone defaults to low speed. Press the Speed Switch button once for medium speed, again for high speed, and a third press returns to low speed.

Fly the Drone with the App

App Download and Installation

Download and install Snaptain Nova from the App Store or Google Play.

Pair the Drone with the App

1. Power on the drone; LEDs will flash.
2. Go to mobile device Wi-Fi settings and connect to Snaptain-SP650-xxxxxx.
3. Open Snaptain Nova App, select SP650, tap Start, then tap the ON/OFF button to ON. Drone LEDs will turn solid after successful pairing.
4. Tap [Photo/Video] then tap [Calibrate] to calibrate the drone.

Notes:

• If Snaptain-SP650-xxxxxx Wi-Fi is not listed or the App shows no preview, restart the drone.
• Ensure Snaptain-SP650-xxxxxx Wi-Fi is connected to only one mobile device.
• The drone's Wi-Fi has no internet access. Turn off cellular data to prevent automatic switching.

Detailed Function Descriptions:

• Photo: Tap once to take a photo.
• Video: Tap once to start recording, tap again to end and save.
• Media Gallery: Tap to view saved photos and videos.
• Gestures for Photo/Video: Tap to activate. Face the camera within 2-3M. A gesture takes a photo; a different gesture starts recording; another gesture stops recording.
• Battery Status: Check the drone's battery level.
• Wi-Fi Signal: Check signal strength. Fly back immediately if it drops to 1 bar.
• G-Sensor Mode: Tap to activate. The drone follows the mobile device's tilt in landscape orientation.
• More: Tap to hide/display icons 9-13.
• VR Mode: Requires a VR device (not included).
• Trajectory Flight: Tap [Trajectory Flight] to draw a path on the screen; the drone follows it. Tap [Trim] to adjust flight distance and time. Tap [Trajectory Flight] again to exit.
• Calibrate: Tap to calibrate the drone.
• Voice Control: Supports commands like Forward, Backward, Left, Right, Take off, Land, and Stop.

Notes:

• To fly with the remote while viewing the app feed, turn off the App via the ON/OFF icon, then pair the drone and remote.
• Turn off the remote when using the App to fly.

Troubleshooting Guide

Q1. How to avoid losing my drone?

• Ensure effective distance between drone and remote/App.
• Recommend flying on windless days. If flying in wind, use HIGH speed.
• Calibrate the drone before flying.

Q2. Drone LEDs do not light up.

• Press the drone's power button.
• Replace or charge the drone battery.
• Ensure battery connectors are firmly plugged in.

Q3. Drone LEDs keep flashing, but the drone does not respond to remote commands.

• Pair the drone and remote again.
• Replace or charge the drone battery.
• Ensure the remote batteries have sufficient power.

Q4. The flight is not stable.

• Return the drone and restart for flight calibration.
• Adjust flight trimming accordingly.
• Fly the drone in good weather conditions.

Q5. Drone response to control is not sensitive.

• Ensure effective distance between drone and remote.
• Turn off the remote; the drone will land automatically. Use the App to fly. If the drone responds to the App but not the remote, the remote may be defective. Contact Snaptain for assistance.

Q6. Connection between the drone and the App is frequently lost.

• Ensure effective distance between the drone and mobile device.
• Ensure the mobile device is not connected to another network.

Q7. The App does not respond to voice commands.

• Ensure the drone App has access to the mobile device's audio function.

Q8. Some functions in the App do not work.

• Ensure the switch for the App is ON.

Q9. The drone flies beyond the control range.

• Activate Headless Mode, then move the Right Control Stick to fly the drone back.

Q10. Replace the rotor blades.

• Rotor blades and motors are marked A and B. Pair them accordingly when replacing.
