Materials Identification and Segregation
Where possible, plastic components are marked with ASTM recycling codes. Use these codes to identify material type for recycling. Non-marked components should be treated as mixed plastic. Ferrous metals can be identified using a small magnet for recycling. Non-ferrous metals should be separated and recycled separately.
Disassembly Steps
- Remove front and back screws of arm pad using a T-20 torx driver.
- Remove the arm pad. Repeat for the opposite side.
- Pull to remove the back angle adjust handle.
- Remove both bolts using a power driver to detach the arm. Repeat for the opposite side.
- Depress the button.
- Pull the arms out from the bottom assembly.
- Pry up gently until the no arm plug attachment is loose.
- Pull to remove the no arm plug. Repeat for the opposite side.
- Remove both lower spine bolts using a T-40 torx wrench.
- Remove both lower back bolts using a T-40 torx wrench.
- Slide your finger between the antler and the fabric cover and pull up to release the dome trees from the antler.
- Remove the dome separately.
- Insert needlenose pliers between the fabric and wiffle material. Twist pliers until attachment pegs pop loose. Repeat for all pegs.
- Remove the fabric separately.
- Using a T-27 torx wrench, remove both spine cap screws.
- Remove hinge covers.
- Pull out the pivot pin.
- Remove the two top antler attachment screws using a T-27 torx wrench.
- Lift up on the antler to release it from the spine.
- Pull one end of the antler away from the top frame and remove it.
- Remove the back.
- Pull the spine cover out from the back assembly.
- Insert needlenose pliers between the back strap and twist pliers until the attachment is loose.
- Remove both "S" clips.
- Remove the back corners of the fabric from the clip posts.
- Disengage the fabric from the rear mount posts.
- Remove the fabric from the seat.
- Peel the strip from the seat fabric.
- Unscrew and remove the handle using a screwdriver from the seat assembly. Repeat for the other end.
- Unscrew and remove the bull nose.
- Remove the weldment from the seat assembly.
- Remove a single lower bolt from each arm housing using a T-27 torx wrench. Repeat for the opposite side.
- Remove two lower front link shoulder bolts and bushings using a T-40 torx wrench.
- Pull the lower cover forward to remove it.
- Lift up the front of the seat assembly and remove it.
- Locate the wire clip for the tilt tension knob. Slide a flat blade screwdriver under the cable collar. Pry up gently until the cable collar is free.
- Grasp the cable and push it forward to release the ball end from the cylinder.
- Hold the knob assembly using a flat blade screwdriver. Pull the tension knob with your other hand.
- While pulling out on the front ears, pull the front tilt cover forward and out.
- Slide a flat blade screwdriver along the side of the rear tilt cover and pry it off.
- Rotate the back of the rear tilt cover up and pull it off.
- Remove the wire clip from the tilt tension knob assembly.
- Remove the tilt lock lever down to the unlock position.
- Remove the shoulder bolt and flange bushing from each side of the rack.
- Remove 2 hex washer head screws.
- Rotate the rack and pull it free from the assembly.
- Lay the chair on its back.
- Grasp and pull to remove casters from the base.
- Hold the base legs firmly and strike the bottom of the cylinder with a 2-pound hammer until the base comes loose.
- Remove the base.
- Hit the bottom of the chair with a hammer until the cylinder separates from the chair.
- Pull out the cylinder from the assembly.
