FUSE

When replacing the fuse, ensure it is the correct type and amperage (10 amp ATC). Using an incorrect fuse could damage the radio. The unit uses one 10 amp ATC fuse located beside the wiring connector.

General Operation

Power On/Off

Press the button to turn the unit on. Press it again to turn the unit off.

Changing Modes

Press the SOURCE button to select between AM/FM, CD player, auxiliary, USB, and Bluetooth modes. The current mode is shown in the display. CD and USB modes will only appear if a CD is inserted or a USB device is connected, respectively.

Auxiliary Input

The XDC100BT features a 3.5 mm auxiliary input port on the front panel for connecting external audio devices like MP3 players. Press SOURCE to select auxiliary input mode.

Volume

Adjust volume using the volume knob ?.

Mute

Press the button to silence the audio. Press it again to resume listening at the previously selected volume.

Display

Press the DISP button to cycle through various displayed information.

Dimmer

Press and hold the DIM button to select the dimmer level, then rotate the volume knob ? to adjust it.

Set the Clock

With the unit on, press and hold DISP until the clock begins to flash. Release DISP, then press TUNE ◀️ to adjust the hours or TUNE ▶️ to adjust the minutes. Press DISP again to save the selected time.

12/24-hour Clock

The clock displays time in 12-hour AM/PM format for USA frequency spacing mode (e.g., PM 10:00). In European frequency spacing mode, it displays in 24-hour format (e.g., 22:00).

Reset

Press the RESET button (located near the AUX port) to restore the unit to factory settings if abnormal operation occurs.

Audio / Menu

Press the volume knob ? momentarily to select between audio functions. Press and hold the volume knob ? for more than two seconds to select between menu functions. Rotate the volume knob ? left/right to adjust or activate the desired function/audio.

General Operation - Setup Menu

Press and hold the volume knob ? for more than 3 seconds to access the setup menu. Press the volume knob ? momentarily to select menu functions and rotate it left/right to adjust or activate settings.

AM/FM Tuner Operation

Seek Tuning

Press and hold TUNE ◀️ or TUNE ▶️ for two seconds to auto seek to the previous or next strong station.

Manual Tuning

Press TUNE ◀️ or TUNE ▶️ momentarily to change radio frequency up or down one step at a time. Press and hold TUNE ◀️ or TUNE ▶️ for three seconds to advance quickly, then release to stop on the desired station.

Band

Press BAND to select between FM1, FM2, FM3, AM1, and AM2 bands. Up to six presets can be programmed for each band, allowing storage for up to 18 FM stations and 12 AM stations.

Storing Presets

To store a station, select the desired band and station. Press and hold the desired preset button (1-6) for more than two seconds. The preset number will appear in the display when stored.

Recalling Presets

Preset stations can be recalled anytime by pressing the corresponding preset button.

Automatically Store

Press and hold the volume knob ? for more than two seconds, then press DISP to automatically store 18 FM stations and 12 AM stations.

Preset Scan

Touch PS to recall each preset station stored in memory for each band. (Available with the Dual Smart Remote App only.)

CD Player Operation

Insert CD

With the label facing up, insert a standard size CD into the CD slot. Playback will begin automatically.

Eject CD

Press EJECT ⏏️ to eject the CD. The unit will return to the previous mode of operation. If the disc is not removed within 10 seconds, it will be reloaded. The unit does not need to be powered on to eject a CD.

Track Select

Press TRACK ◀️◀️ to skip to the beginning of the next track. Press TRACK ▶️▶️ to return to the beginning of the current track. Pressing TRACK ◀️◀️ again skips to the beginning of the previous track.

Fast Forward/Reverse

Press and hold TRACK ◀️◀️ or TRACK ▶️▶️ to fast forward or reverse a track.

Pause

Press ▶️/II to temporarily stop CD playback. Press ▶️/II again to resume playback.

Intro

Press INT to enter the Intro menu, then turn the volume knob ? to select one of the following options:

Repeat

Press RPT to enter the Repeat menu, then turn the volume knob ? to select one of the following options:

Random

Press RDM to enter the Random menu, then turn the volume knob ? to select one of the following options:

CD-R/CD-RW Compatibility

Some CD-Rs and CD-RWs may be incompatible depending on media type and recording method. The following CDs may also be incompatible: CDs exposed to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for extended periods, CDs recorded with a failed session or re-recording attempt, or encrypted/copy-protected CDs not conforming to the audio CD-DA red book standard.

CD Player Operation - MP3 Files

Playing an MP3 CD

When an MP3 encoded disc is first inserted, "DISC READ" will appear in the display. This may take several seconds depending on the number of files and folders.

Displaying Information

Press DISP to select between song title, artist, file name, folder name, track number, and clock/elapsed time.

"NO ARTIST" or "NO TITLE" will display if the MP3 file lacks ID3 tag information.

"ROOT" will display if the directory name of a root folder is not labeled.

Title Icon

This icon illuminates when the song title is displayed.

Artist Icon

This icon illuminates when the artist name is displayed.

Folder Icon

This icon illuminates when the folder name is displayed.

File Icon

This icon illuminates when the file name is displayed.

Character Support

Maximum character display information:

*Song title and Artist Name are displayed only if included with the MP3 file.

Playback Order

MP3 playback sequence is based on the recorded order of files, starting from the root folder. Empty folders or folders without MP3 files are skipped. Playback order may differ from recording order; refer to your recording software's manual.

Additional MP3 Information

An internal buffer provides ESP (Electronic Skip Protection) to virtually eliminate skipping.

When playing discs with both regular audio files (CD-DA or .WAV) and MP3 files, only MP3 files will play.

Only MP3 files with the filename extension (.mp3) can be played. Do not attempt to play discs with non-MP3 files using the MP3 extension.

32kbps ~ 320kbps constant, Variable bit rates.

Note: Some files may not play or display correctly depending on sampling rates and bit rates.

MP3 Tag Display

Supports ID3 tags Version 1.0 to 2.4. This model will not display ID3 Version 2.4 or greater tags.

Recommended Settings

For best results when burning an MP3 disc, use:

USB Operation

Connecting a USB Device (sold separately)

To play MP3 files from most USB mass storage devices, align the USB connector and insert the USB device into the unit's USB port.

Playing Music

When a USB device is first connected, "USB READ" appears in the display, and playback begins momentarily. This may take several seconds depending on the number of files and folders. If no valid MP3 files are detected, "NO FILE" is displayed, and the last mode resumes.

Track Select

Press TRACK ◀️◀️ to skip to the beginning of the next track. Press TRACK ▶️▶️ to return to the beginning of the current track. Pressing TRACK ◀️◀️ again skips to the beginning of the previous track.

Fast Forward and Reverse

Press and hold TRACK ◀️◀️ or TRACK ▶️▶️ to fast forward or reverse a track.

Pause

Press ▶️/II to temporarily stop USB playback. Press ▶️/II again to resume playback.

Displaying Information

When a file is accessed, the clock and elapsed time are displayed. Press DISP momentarily to select between song title, artist, file name, folder name, track number, and clock/elapsed time.

"NO TITLE" will display if no song title information is available.

"NO ARTIST" will display if no artist information is available.

Folder Access

Press ◀️ to select the previous folder. Press ▶️ to select the next folder.

Note: Folder access is only available on devices with more than one folder.

Repeat

Press RPT to enter the Repeat menu, then turn the volume knob ? to select one of the following options:

Random

Press RDM to enter the Random menu, then turn the volume knob ? to select one of the following options:

Note: Random mode is retained in memory when selecting between other modes and when the unit is turned on/off.

Press INT to enter the Intro menu, then turn the volume knob ? to select one of the following options:

Playback Order

MP3 playback sequence is based on the order files are copied to the USB device, starting from the root folder. Empty folders or folders without MP3 files are skipped. Playback order may vary depending on your software.

Note: If the number of files/folders exceeds the maximum outlined above, the additional files/folders will be ignored.

Note: Devices exceeding the maximum number of files or folders may not function properly.

USB Device Compatibility

Due to differences in USB devices, some may not be compatible. USB devices must be 'mass storage class' and formatted to the FAT or FAT32 file system for compatibility.

Additional MP3 Information

Only MP3 files with the filename extension (.mp3) can be played. Do not attempt to play non-MP3 files with the MP3 extension.

MP3 Tag Display

ID3 tags Version 1.0 to 2.4. If an invalid ID3 tag version is detected, "NO SUPPORT" will scroll on the display.

Bluetooth® Operation

Pairing a New Device

Before using a Bluetooth device, it must be paired and connected. Ensure Bluetooth is activated on your device before starting the pairing process. The unit broadcasts the pairing signal constantly when no devices are connected. Complete the pairing sequence from your Bluetooth device; refer to its owner's manual for details.

The device name is "DUAL BT". The Bluetooth passcode is "1234".

Note: If passcode "1234" does not pair your device, use passcode "0000".

Note: The unit can be in any mode of operation when pairing is performed.

Pairing Additional Devices

If a device is currently connected, press and hold to disconnect the current device before pairing a new one. Then begin the pairing sequence from the new Bluetooth device.

Connecting a Paired Device

Most Bluetooth devices support auto-connect and will connect automatically if in range when the unit is powered on. If your device was previously paired but does not connect, follow these instructions:

Disconnecting a Device

Press and hold for 3 seconds to disconnect a connected device. The device remains paired and appears in the SEARCH menu but is not connected.

Note: Placing a phone call from your cell phone will also initiate Bluetooth function.

Recent Calls List

Press SELECT from Bluetooth mode to view recent calls (dialed, received, or missed) connected to the head unit. Turn the volume knob ? to cycle through phone numbers. Press SELECT or ? to dial.

Redialing the last number

To redial the last phone number, press ? from Bluetooth mode. Press ? or SELECT again to redial.

Receiving a phone call

Incoming phone calls automatically appear on the display with a ring tone. Note: Ring tone volume depends on the unit's volume level and may not be heard if volume is low or muted.

Note: If Auto Answer is set to ON in the setup menu, all phone calls will be received automatically.

Ending a Phone Call

During an active phone call, press ? to end it. If the call was received while listening to music, the unit will resume the previous mode.

Streaming Audio

The unit supports A2DP (advanced audio distribution profile) wireless streaming audio from your Bluetooth mobile device. You can also control music from the front panel using AVRCP (audio video remote control profile).

After pairing, connecting, and enabling streaming audio, begin playing music on your mobile device. The following functions control the music:

Note: Some Bluetooth devices may not fully support these commands.

Dual iPlug P2 Smart App Remote Control

Use the Dual iPlug P2 Smart App Remote Control on an Apple or Android smartphone to control the receiver via Bluetooth. Change mode, station, song, volume, and settings directly from your smartphone without line-of-sight limitations.

Download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and install it on your smartphone or tablet. (QR code download link is provided on the original document).

Voice Activation

Your receiver features an easy-access voice activation button for Siri® or Google Assistant™ via your car's Bluetooth. Interact with your smartphone assistant while driving with just the push of a button!

Bluetooth must be paired between your smartphone and the receiver. Press the voice activation button; the receiver will switch to Bluetooth mode, activating Siri® or Google Assistant™ on your smartphone. You will need to manually switch back to the previous or desired mode once the operation is terminated.

Limited One Year Warranty

This warranty grants specific legal rights, and you may have other rights varying by state.

Dual Electronics Corp. warrants this product to the original purchaser against defects in material and workmanship for one year from the original purchase date. At its option, Dual Electronics Corp. will repair or replace defective products with new, renewed, or comparable items, free of charge, subject to verification of the defect and proof of purchase. Subsequent replacement products are warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period.

This warranty extends to the original retail purchaser for products bought from an authorized Dual dealer in the U.S.A.

What is covered?

This warranty covers all defects in material and workmanship. It does not cover: software, installation/removal costs, damage from accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, product modification, improper installation, incorrect line voltage, unauthorized repair, failure to follow instructions, or damage during return shipment. What to do?

  1. Before calling for service, check the troubleshooting guide in this manual. Simple adjustments may resolve issues.
  2. If service is required during the warranty period, carefully pack the product (preferably in its original packaging) and ship it via prepaid transportation with a copy of the original receipt from the retailer to an authorized service center.
  3. Describe your problem in writing, including your name, a return UPS shipping address (P.O. Box not accepted), and a daytime phone number.
