Privacy Codes
Your radio uses two advanced coded squelch systems: CTCSS (Continuous Tone Coded Squelch System) with 38 privacy codes and DCS (Digitally Coded Squelch) with 99 privacy codes, totaling 137 Privacy Codes. These systems help reduce interference. Either system can be used on all channels, but not both simultaneously on the same channel.
To communicate using a privacy code, both radios must be set to the same channel and the same privacy code system and number. The radio remembers the last selected privacy code system and number for each channel. Privacy code 00 allows all signals to be heard.
