Choose an installation location that allows for a full view of the vehicle's front without obstructing the driver's vision. Ensure the front camera lens is centered on the windshield.
If a GPS navigation device is installed on the dashboard, its GPS reception may be affected by the dash cam's installation location. Adjust the GPS navigation device's position to ensure a distance of at least 20 cm (approx. 8 inches) between the two devices.
2.1.2 Securing the Product
Secure the product in the installation location according to the instructions.
- After determining the installation location, wipe the installation area on the windshield with a dry cloth.
- Attach the heat-resistant film to the installation location. Ensure the film is placed where it will not obstruct the camera's view.
- Peel off the protective film from the adhesive base and the camera. Press the base firmly onto the heat-resistant film, then press firmly onto the windshield to ensure a secure attachment.
- Align the product with the base and slide it into the locking position until it clicks.
- Properly adjust the camera's vertical angle.
To confirm the camera angle, record a video after installation and check it using the Mobile Viewer or PC Viewer. Adjust the camera lens as necessary. For more information on the Mobile Viewer or PC Viewer, refer to "4. Mobile Viewer" on page 22 or "6. PC Viewer" on page 25.
2.1.3 Connecting the Power Cable
With the engine and electrical accessories turned off, connect the continuous power cable or cigarette lighter power cable to the product.
Connecting the Car Charger
- Connect the car charger to the product's DC-IN power port and plug the cigarette lighter into the vehicle's power outlet. The location and specifications of power outlets may vary by vehicle manufacturer and model.
- Use a reliable THINKWARE car charger. Using third-party power cords may damage the product and could cause electrical fires or electric shock due to voltage fluctuations.
- Do not cut or modify the power cord yourself. This may damage the product or the vehicle.
- For driving safety, route the cables properly to avoid obstructing the driver's view or interfering with driving. For more information on cable routing, visit www.thinkware.com.
Connect the product to the THINKWARE DASH CAM LINK on your smartphone. Adjust the camera angle to ensure the engine hood occupies 1/4 to 1/8 of the screen area when viewing the live display. For more information on connecting and using THINKWARE DASH CAM LINK, refer to "4. Mobile Viewer" on page 22.
Connecting the Hardwired Cable
If the product is connected via a hardwired cable, the camera will continue to operate even when the vehicle is off (Parking Mode). In Parking Mode, the camera can detect impacts and motion to record video. For more information on Parking Mode, refer to "3.6 Parking Mode" on page 20.
- The hardwired cable must be installed by a trained professional technician. Contact an authorized service center for hardwiring installation. Improper installation may damage the product or cause electrical fires or electric shock.
- Only use genuine THINKWARE hardwired cables. Using cables from other manufacturers may damage the product or cause electric shock due to voltage differences.
- When connecting the hardwired cable, pay close attention to the wiring. Incorrect wiring may damage the product or the vehicle.
- Locate the vehicle's fuse box, typically under the driver's seat. The fuse box location may vary by vehicle manufacturer and model. Refer to your vehicle's owner's manual for more information.
- Open the fuse box and use an electrical tester to identify the constant power (BATTERY) and ignition (ACC) fuse terminals. Remove the fuse from the appropriate terminal.
- Connect the BATTERY wire to a fuse tap for the constant power terminal, and the ACC wire to a fuse tap for the ignition (ACC) terminal.
- Use an electrical tester to check the input and output contacts of the fuse panel.
- Replace the fuses in their original positions in the fuse panel. Connect each fuse tap with the wire to the output contact, ensuring not to change the fuse positions.
- When installing fuses in the fuse panel, connect the BATTERY wire's fuse tap to the output terminal and the ACC wire's fuse tap to the output terminal. Connecting the fuse taps to the input terminals may damage the product or vehicle, or cause an electrical fire.
- Connect the ground (GND) wire to a bolt mounted on the vehicle's chassis. Typically, metal bolts for grounding are located near the fuse box or inside the driver's side door.
- Connect the hardwired cable to the product's DC-IN power connector, then start the engine to ensure the product operates normally. The LED indicator and voice guidance will activate when the product powers on.
- Install the THINKWARE DASH CAM LINK app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store on your smartphone. For more information on connecting and using THINKWARE DASH CAM LINK, refer to "4. Mobile Viewer" on page 22.

2.2.2 Securing the Rear Camera
Secure the product in the installation location according to the instructions.
- After determining the installation location, wipe the mounting surface on the rear windshield with a dry cloth. When mounting the rear camera on the rear windshield, check the installation position. Once attached, the rear camera is difficult to remove or reposition due to its strong adhesive.
- Peel off the protective film from the adhesive base and the camera.
- Attach the product with the THINKWARE logo facing the interior of the vehicle, and press the adhesive base firmly to secure the camera. If the product is mounted in the wrong orientation, the recorded rear view will be inverted.
- Adjust the camera's vertical angle.
2.2.3 Connecting the Rear Camera Cable
Turn off the product's power, then connect the rear camera cable to the front camera (main unit). When connecting the rear camera cable, check the "F" and "R" markings on both ends of the cable.
- Connect one end of the rear camera cable (marked "F") to the V-IN port of the front camera. Ensure you connect the cable labeled FRONT to the front camera's V-IN port to prevent malfunction.
- Connect the other end of the rear camera cable (marked "R") to the rear camera's corresponding port until it clicks.
Turn on the ACC or start the engine to check if the product powers on. Voice guidance will activate when the product powers on. The product will power on when the ACC mode is turned on or the engine is started.
When installing the rear camera, use the Mobile Viewer application to check the live view.
