The new Clearaudio tonearm combines the proven single-point bearing with a newly developed magnet stabilization design. Thanks to this enhancement of the single-point bearing design, new performance standards are set for vinyl playback.
All tonearm adjustments are now possible at the micron level, ensuring the most accurate alignment and perfect tracking for high-end cartridge systems. The continuous height adjustment allows for convenient setup even during playback.
This state-of-the-art tonearm is available in black and silver, with a 10 inch Monocouque carbon tonearm tube, making it the perfect complement for all Clearaudio products as well as many products from other manufacturers.

Safety instructions
1. General information Check the tonearm for any damage before using it. Do not connect the tonearm if damaged!
Never connect the tonearm if it has been dropped or gotten wet, contact your dealer to have the tonearm checked.
Never expose the tonearm to rain or moisture.
The inside of the tonearm is maintenance free. Never open the case or attempt to repair the unit yourself, since this can lead to loss of warranty!
Before using the tonearm for the first time or after a long period of inactivity the lift must be operated approx. 4-5 times to loosen the grease in the tonearm lift to lower the lift bar evenly again.
Not suitable for children! Scope of delivery may contain small parts that can be swallowed.
2. I ntended use The Unity is a tonearm for playing music and is intended exclusively for use on turntables.
Only use the Unity tonearm in accordance with the information provided in the user manual.
3. Location of installation Avoid locations with direct sunlight, temperature fluctuations and high humidity. Likewise, avoid placing electronic devices near heaters, heat lamps, or other devices that produce heat.
The device is designed for operation at room temperature.
No objects with an open flame may be placed on or near the device (burning candles or similar). 4. Maintenance We recommend moving the tonearm lift at regular intervals to keep the bearing grease supple and to prevent the tonearm from getting stuck during playback if you do not use your Clearaudio tonearm for a longer period.
Never use aggressive cleaning agents.
Do not use dry cloths for cleaning as this generates static electricity. Suitable cleaning and care products from Clearaudio are available at www.analogshop.de or from specialist retailers.
Only use a soft cloth with a smooth surface or a soft brush for cleaning.

5. Health information Permanently high volume can lead to various types of hearing damage. Use high volume responsibly!
6. Service The Unity tonearm should be repaired during the guarantee period by the manufacturer only, otherwise the warranty claim expires. All Clearaudio products should only be serviced by specialist r et ailer.
I f, despite the high production standard, a service is necessary, the Unity tonearm must be send to Clearaudio through your dealer.
7. Transport Use the original packing material for further transportation of the Unity tonearm, otherwise serious damage could occur.
Be sure to pack the device exactly as it was shipped. Safe transport is only guaranteed in the original packaging.
Proceed in reverse as described for assembly when packing.

2.1 Mounting the tonearm base on the Clearaudio Performance DC or Ovation turntable I f you did not order your turntable together with the Unity tonearm, it is usually necessary to replace the tonearm base, as usually a tonearm base for 9 inch tonearms is pre-assembled. Place the turntable on the edge of a table or similar surface to gain access to the tonearm base from below. Remove the tonearm base by loosening the six M4 x 35mm screws with a hex wrench on the bottom side of the clamping ring. When assembling the Unity tonearm base, please note to not fully tighten the screws yet, as the base must be able to rotate freely for final fine adjustment. In addition, the side hole with threaded pin (M6x8) in the tonearm base must remain accessible (Pic. 3). Make sure the fit is precise and the mounting surfaces are flat.

2.1 Mounting the tonearm base on the Clearaudio Reference Jubilee or Master Jubilee turntable I f you did not order your turntable together with the Unity tonearm, it is usually necessary to replace the tonearm base, as usually a tonearm base for 9 inch tonearms is pre-assembled. Remove the previous tonearm base by using the hex wrench (#1.5) to loosen one of the three M3x4 grub screws on the tonearm base (Pic. 5). When assembling the Unity tonearm base, please note to not fully tighten the screws yet, as the base must be able to rotate freely for final fine adjustment. In addition, the side hole with threaded pin (M6x8) in the tonearm base must remain accessible (Pic. 5). Make sure the fit is precise and the mounting surfaces are flat.

2.3 Mounting the tonearm base on a Clearaudio I nnovation series turntable I f you did not order your turntable together with the Unity tonearm, it is usually necessary to replace the tonearm base, as usually a tonearm base for 9 inch tonearms is pre-assembled.

I f another tonearm base as shown in Picture 6 is installed, remove it by loosening the M4x10 screw by using an hex wrench (#3) and using the hex wrench (#7) to remove the M10x20 screw together with the tonearm base. Mount the tonearm base Art. No. AC030-4 by first loosely tightening the M10x20 screw so that the tonearm base remains freely rotatable for the final adjustments. I f the correct tonearm base is already mounted, just loosen the M10x20 and M4x10 screws slightly so that the tonearm base can be rotated freely for the fine adjustments. Please remove the previous clamping ring. The clamping of the Unity tonearm will be installed later.

2.4 Mounting the clamping ring on another manufacturers' turntables
Drill three holes into the turntable chassis to mount the aluminium clamping ring.
Use the measurements given in the drawing template below to ensure the correct position of the three holes (Pic. 8). Use a 3.3mm drill for this step. After you have drilled the three holes, thread the holes using an appropriate tap cutter. I f the material of the turntable chassis is not suitable for threading, please use a 4.5mm drill for the holes. In this case, you will need longer screws with nuts to fit the tonearm base.

3. Mounting the Unity tonearm
Due to the specially packaging, the screw for VTA adjustment is completely screwed in for delivery. To install the Unity tonearm, it must be in the "0" position. To do this, loose the locking screw on the tonearm foot (Pic. 9).

By turning the VTA screw counterclockwise, the tonearm lowers and the scale on the VTA unit becomes negative. Turning clockwise raises the tonearm; the scale of VTA unit becomes positive. Now set this to "0" for the next assembly steps.

First insert the tonearm cable and then the tonearm foot of the Unity tonearm into the hole in the tonearm base.
Please note: I f you have ordered your Unity tonearm in a DI N version, the included tonearm cable (DIN to RCA) must first be connected to the tonearm. Please now carefully guide the tonearm foot through the screwed-on base and the clamping ring.
3.2 Mounting on an I nnovation series turntable
Take the clamping ring out of the packaging and place it on the recess in the tonearm base. Now you can attach the clamping ring to the tonearm base using the 3 M4x10 screws provided.
Make sure that the side hole w ith the set screw ( M6x8) remains accessible ( Pic. 12) .

After that you can first guide the tonearm cable and then the tonearm foot of the Unity tonearm into the hole of the tonearm base.
Please note: I f you have ordered your Unity tonearm in a DI N version, the included tonearm cable (DIN to RCA) must first be connected to the tonearm.
Make sure that the cable is not damaged or kinked.

4. Adjustment of the Unity tonearm

4.1 Setting the distance from spindle to tonearm pivot point and from spindle to rest position holder

To make the next adjustment, the tonearm or tonearm base must be rotated as far away from the platter spindle as possible.

Now place the included alignment gauge directly on the turntable and align it so, that the "VTA tower" marking points are in the direction of the Unity tonearm (Pic. 13.).
Now turn the tonearm or base towards the adjustment template until the VTA tower and the resting position of the Unity tonearm touch the adjustment template. Now screw the tonearm base tight.

To precisely adjust the pivot point of the tonearm, we recommend the Clearaudio cartridge alignment gauge (Art. No. AC005/IEC, also available at www.analogshop.de)!
Make sure that the distance between the spindle and the pivot point of the tonearm must be exactly 238mm (see Pic. 10). You can adjust the distance by rotating the tonearm base.
Please screw the tonearm base back on and check the dimensions again.

To accurately check the distance from the spindle to the rest position holder, use a ruler. The correct distance is 214mm. You can adjust this distance by turning the tonearm.
Now hand-tightened this position, using the set screw on the side of the tonearm base.

4.2 Tonearm height adjustment

The following settings require to mount the cartridge on the headshell. Always follow the cartridge manufacturer's instructions.

Leave the stylus protector on your cartridge to avoid any damages!

Now you can connect the respective signal cable with the matching color pins of the cartridge. Please note the following colour coding:

Red: Green: White: Blue:

right channel / R+ right channel / R-
left channel / L+ left channel / L-

Connect the pins of your cartridge to the jacks of the headshell or tonearm cable, taking care not to use too much force. Use suitable precision pliers or tweezers for assistance if necessary.

In addition, the counterweight must be roughly preset; for this purpose, a pair of counterweights included in the scope of delivery must be installed.

LOW = MID = HIGH =

The choice of counterweight pair depends on the weight of your cartridge. For the next steps, we recommend installing the middle counterweight with a total of 36g at the beginning. I f the counterweight does not keep the tonearm level, change the weight to the lighter/ heavier counterweight pair.

The counterweights are attached at the end of the tonearm tube using a magnetic mount.

Make sure the tonearm VTA setting is set to "0".

Loosen the tonearm using the set screw on the side of the tonearm base.
Now place a record, the included alignment gauge or the Clearaudio cartridge alignment gauge (Art. No. AC005/IEC, also available at www.analogshop.de) on the turntable and remove the needle guard of your cartridge. Remove the tonearm anti-skating screw by unscrewing it (Pic. 16). This will be reinserted at a later dat e.
Please exercise extreme caution during the follow ing st eps! Never move the cartridge in the adjustment template w hile it is low ered.

Lower the tonearm using the lift and check that the tonearm tube is parallel to the record. To do this, you can use the alignment gauge provided and place it on the record behind the tonearm
and use it to read the parallelism (Pic. 17). The tonearm tube should not touch the lift bar, but the needle must rest on the record or I EC template.

I f the tonearm tube is not parallel but shows a slight inclination, put the tonearm tube back into its rest position. Now carefully raise/ lower the entire tonearm in the base and check the parallelism again. I n this position, the tonearm is now
fixed hand-tight in the base.

After fixing, you can check the setting again and correct it if necessary. I f this is unchanged, you can put the tonearm back in the rest position holder and put the needle guard back on.

The tonearm can now be screwed into the tonearm base, using the set screw on the side.

4.3 Correct alignment and adjustment of the cartridge For the final adjustment of the tonearm and cartridge, you will need the alignment gauge that is also included in the scope of delivery. Place this directly on the turntable and align it so that the arrow points to the tonearm pivot point (Pic. 18).

Remove the tonearm from the rest position and align it in the area of the crosshairs. Lower the tonearm and check the alignment.
The cartridge body must be aligned in the grid of the template so that the needle tip is in the crosshairs and the side and front edges of the housing are parallel to the grid lines.
To correct this, you have to loosen the screws on the cartridge a little, so that the cartridge can move in the headshell.
Check the setting again after you have fixed the screws!

4.4 Fine adjustment of the tracking force

As described under point 4.2, the choice of the counterweight pair depends on the cartridge`s own w eight .
The Unity tonearm comes with 3 pairs of counterweights, which can be easily attached and replaced, using a magnetic holder.

Set the correct tracking force of your cartridge according to the manufacturer`s instructions.

To check the correct tracking force, we recommend
the digital pickup scale "Weight Watcher touch" from Clearaudio (Art. No.: AC163; also available at www. analogshop.de).

I f you cannot achieve the desired tracking force with the middle pair of counterweights, switch to the lighter/ heavier pair.

4.5 Adjustment of the azimuth

The azimuth is the angle of the cartridge stylus to the record surface. Viewed from the front, the cartridge needle have to be vertical to the record.

Please note: The azimuth is already set at the factory.

I f you still want to optimize the azimuth, proceed as follows:
Please note: Since it is a unit, the tw o screw s ( Pic. 22) should never be loosened individually!

When working, always hold the bearing block for
safety. Using an hex wrench (#2.5), loosen the screws alternately with a minimum turn (max. 1/4 turn) until the tonearm can be turned easily.

After you have found the correct position, carefully tighten the two allen screws again, without changing the previously selected position.

Also proceed alternately and evenly with a minimum turn - max. 1/ 4 turn until the screws cannot be tightened any further.

4.6 Anti-skating adjustment
I n order to be able to make the next adjustment, the previously removed anti-skating screw is reinserted.
You can adjust the anti-skating setting by adjusting the antiskating screw. This is determined depending on the tracking force of the car t r idge.
Please note: When the screw is removed, this corresponds to a "0" position of the anti- skating. This is increased by screw ing in the screw .

4.6 Setting the VTA

To adjust the height of the tonearm, first loosen the fixing unit on the tonearm base.

Turning the VTA screw counterclockwise lowers the tonearm; the scale on the VTA becomes negative.
Turning the VTA screw clockwise raises the tonearm; the scale on the VTA becomes positive.
You can even adjust the height of your tonearm while playing!
After adjusting the height, tighten the locking screw on the tonearm base again.

The tonearm adjustment is now complete.
We recommend to re-check all settings again and correct them if necessary before connecting the tonearm to your phono pre-amplifier.

Sicherheitshinw eise

1. Allgemeine Hinw eise Überprüfen Sie den Tonarm vor der I nbetriebnahme auf vorhandene Schäden. I st der Tonarm beschädigt, sollten Sie diesen nicht anschließen!

Schließen Sie den Tonarm niemals an, wenn er heruntergefallen oder nass geworden ist, kontaktieren Sie I hren Händler, um den Tonarm überprüfen zu lassen.

Setzen Sie den Tonarm niemals Regen oder Feuchtigkeit aus.

Das Innere des Tonarms ist wartungsfrei, öffnen Sie niemals das Gehäuse oder versuchen Sie das Gerät selbst zu reparieren. Dies führt zu Garantieverlust!

Vor dem erstmaligen Benutzen oder nach längerem Stillstand muss der Lift ca. 4-5x betätigt werden, damit sich das Fett im Tonarmlift lösen kann und der Liftbügel wieder gleichmäßig abgesenkt wird.

Nicht für Kinder geeignet! Lieferumfang kann verschluckbare Kleinteile enthalten.
2. Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch Der Unity ist ein Tonarm zur Musikwiedergabe und zur ausschließlichen Verwendung auf Plattenspielern bestimmt.

Der bestimmungsgemäße Gebrauch des Unity Tonarms ist die Verwendung in Übereinstimmung mit den in der Bedienungsanleitung bereitgestellten I nformationen.

3. Aufstellungsort Vermeiden Sie Aufstellungsorte mit direkter Sonneneinstrahlung, Temperaturschwankungen sowie

6. Service Der Unity darf während der Garantiezeit nur vom Hersteller repariert werden, ansonsten erlischt der Garantieanspruch. Der Service für alle clearaudio Produkte sollte ausschließlich beim Fachhändler erfolgen.

7. Transport Beim Transport des clearaudio Unity Tonarms ist stets die Originalverpackung zu verwenden. Achten Sie darauf, das Gerät genauso zu verpacken, wie es ausgeliefert wurde.

1. Lieferumfang

Der clearaudio Unity Tonarm wird in einer speziellen Verpackung geliefert, die einen sicheren Transport gewährleistet. Bitte heben Sie die Verpackung für Transportzwecke unbedingt auf.

Bitte kontrollieren Sie anhand der unten aufgeführten Liste den Lieferumfang Ihres neu erworbenen Tonarms. Dieser besteht aus:

2.1 Befestigung der Tonarmbasis auf einem clearaudio Performance DC oder Ovation Laufw erk Sollten Sie Ihr Laufwerk nicht gemeinsam mit dem Unity Tonarm bestellt haben, ist in der Regel ein Austausch der Tonarmbasis nötig, da üblicherweise eine Basis für 9 Zoll Tonarme vormontiert ist. Stellen Sie Ihr Laufwerk über die Ecke eines Tisches, damit die Tonarmbasis von unten frei zugänglich ist. Nehmen Sie die vorherige Tonarmbasis ab, indem Sie mithilfe des I nnensechskantschlüssels (#3) die sechs M4x35mm Schrauben auf der Unterseite des Klemmrings lösen. Beachten Sie bei der Montage der Unity Tonarmbasis, dass Sie die Schrauben noch nicht vollständig festziehen, da die Basis zur finalen Feinjustage frei drehbar sein muss. Zudem muss die seitliche Bohrung mit Gewindestift (M6x8) in der Tonarmbasis zugänglich bleiben (Abb. 3). Achten Sie auf passgenauen Sitz und planebene Montageflächen.

2.2 Befestigung der Tonarmbasis auf einem clearaudio Reference Jubilee oder Master Jubilee Laufw erk Sollten Sie Ihr Laufwerk nicht gemeinsam mit dem Unity Tonarm bestellt haben, ist in der Regel ein Austausch der Tonarmbasis nötig, da üblicherweise eine Basis für 9 Zoll Tonarme vormontiert ist. Nehmen Sie die vorherige Tonarmbasis ab, indem Sie mithilfe des Innensechskantschlüssels (#1,5) eine der drei M3x4 Gewindestifte am Abstandsrohr der Tonarmbasis lösen. Beachten Sie bei der Montage der Unity Tonarmbasis, dass Sie die Schrauben noch nicht vollständig festziehen, da die Basis zur finalen Feinjustage frei drehbar sein muss. Zudem muss die seitliche Bohrung mit Gewindestift (M6x8) in der Tonarmbasis zugänglich bleiben (Abb. 5). Achten Sie auf passgenauen Sitz und planebene Montageflächen.

2.3 Befestigung der Tonarmbasis auf einem clearaudio I nnovation series Laufw erk Sollten Sie Ihr Laufwerk nicht gemeinsam mit dem Unity Tonarm bestellt haben, sollten Sie zuerst überprüfen, ob die korrekte Tonarmbasis zur Montage des Unity Tonarmes auf Ihrem Laufwerk befestigt ist (Abb. 6).

Sollte eine andere Tonarmbasis, als die unter Abbildung 6 gezeigte Tonarmbasis montiert sein, nehmen Sie diese ab, indem Sie mithilfe eines Innensechskantschlüssels (#3) die M4x10 Schraube lösen und mit dem Innensechskantschlüssels (#7) die M10x20 Schraube zusammen mit der Tonarmbasis entfernen. Montieren Sie die Tonarmbasis Art.Nr AC030-4, indem Sie zuerst die M10x20 Schraube und im Anschluss die M4x10 Schraube locker festschrauben, damit die Tonarmbasis zur Feinjustage frei drehbar bleibt. I st bereits die korrekte Tonarmbasis montiert, lösen Sie nur etwas die M10x20 und M4x10 Schrauben, sodass sich die Tonarmbasis zur Feinjustage frei drehen lässt und entfernen Sie, falls montiert, den vorherigen Klemmring. Der Klemmring des Unity Tonarms wird erst zu einem späteren Punkt montiert.

2.4 Montage des Aluminium-Klemmrings auf einem Laufw erk anderer Hersteller
Um den Aluminium-Klemmring auf dem Laufwerkchassis anbringen zu können, müssen erst die Bohrungen zur Befestigung angebracht werden. Die Maße zum Anzeichnen der exakten Bohrlochabstände entnehmen Sie bitte der unten abgebildeten Bohrschablone (siehe Abb. 7).
Bitte beachten Sie, dass diese Abbildung nicht maßstabsgetreu ist.
Verwenden sie für die Bohrungen einen 3,3 mm HSS-Spiralbohrer. Anschließend schneiden Sie in die Bohrungen mit einem Gewindebohrer jeweils M4-Gewinde. Ist das Material des Laufwerkchassis nicht dazu geeignet, es mit Gewinden zu versehen, verwenden Sie bitte einen 4,5 mm HSS-Spiralbohrer, um die Bohrungen durch das Material zu bohren. I n diesem Fall können Sie den Klemmring mit handelsüblichen Schrauben in der entsprechenden Länge und den dazu passenden Muttern befestigen (V2A-Inbus).

3. Montage des Unity Tonarm
Aufgrund der speziell angefertigten Verpackung, wird die Schraube zur VTA Einstellung bei Auslieferung vollständig eingeschraubt. Zur Montage des Unity Tonarms muss sich diese allerdings auf der ,,0" Position befinden. Lösen Sie hierfür die Feststellschraube am Tonarmfuß (Abb. 9).

Durch drehen an der VTA-Schraube entgegen dem Uhrzeigersinn senkt sich der Tonarm und die Skala an der VTA-Einheit wird negativ. Durch drehen im Uhrzeigersinn hebt sich der Tonarm; die Skala an VTA-Einheit wird positiv. Stellen Sie diese nun für die nächsten Montage-Schritte auf ,,0" ein.

Führen Sie erst das Tonarmkabel und dann den Tonarm-Fuß des Unity Tonarmes in die Bohrung der Tonarmbasis.
Bitte beachten: Wenn Sie I hren Unity Tonarm in DI N-Ausführung bestellt haben, muss zuerst das mitgelieferte Tonarmkabel ( DI N auf RCA) an den Tonarm angeschlossen w erden.
Bitte führen Sie nun vorsichtig den Tonarmfuß durch die aufgeschraubte Basis und den Klemmring.
3.2 Montage auf einem I nnovation Serie Laufw erk
Nehmen Sie den Klemmring aus der Verpackung und legen Sie diesen auf die Aussparung der Tonarmbasis. Nun können Sie den Klemmring mit den 3 mitgelieferten Schrauben M4x10 auf der Tonarmbasis befestigen.
Achten Sie hierbei darauf, dass die seitliche Bohrung mit Gew indestift ( M6x8) zugänglich bleibt Abb 12) .

Nun können Sie zuerst das Tonarmkabel und dann den Tonarm-Fuß des Unity Tonarmes in die Bohrung des Tonarmbasis führen.
Bitte beachten: Wenn Sie I hren Unity Tonarm in DI N-Ausführung bestellt haben, muss zuerst das mitgelieferte Tonarmkabel ( DI N auf RCA) an den Tonarm angeschlossen w erden.
Achten Sie darauf, dass das Kabel nicht beschädigt oder geknickt wird.

4. Einstellung des Tonarms

4.1 Einstellung des Achsabstand von Tellerspindel zum Tonarmdrehpunkt und Einstellung des Abstands von Tellerspindel zur Ruheposition

Um die nächste Einstellung vorzunehmen, muss der Tonarm bzw. die Tonarmbasis so weit wie möglich von der Tellcherachse weggedreht werden.

Platzieren Sie nun die mitgelieferte Einstellschablone direkt auf dem Plattenteller und richten Sie diese so aus, dass die Kennzeichnung ,,VTA Tower" in Richtung des Unity Tonarms zeigt (Abb. 13.).
Drehen Sie nun den Tonarm bzw. die Basis so weit zur Einstellschablone, bis der VTA-Turm und die Ruheposition des Unity Tonarms die Einstellschablone berührt. Schrauben Sie nun die Tonarmbasis fest.

Zur exakten Einstellung des Drehpunktes des Tonarms empfehlen wir die clearaudio Drehtonarm-Einstellschablone/IEC (Art.Nr. AC005/ IEC, auch erhältlich über www.analogshop.de).
Achten Sie darauf, dass der Abstand der Spindel zum Drehpunkt des Tonarms exakt 238 mm betragen muss (siehe Abb. 10)! Den Abstand können Sie durch Drehen der Tonarmbasis einst ellen.

Bitte schrauben Sie die Tonarmbasis anschließend wieder fest und prüfen Sie das Maß nochmals.

Zur exakten Nachprüfung des Abstands von Tellerspindel zur Ruheposition verwenden Sie ein Lineal. Der Abstand zu korrekten Funktion des magnetischen Anti-Skating beträgt 214 mm. Diesen Abstand können Sie durch Drehen des Tonarms nachstellen.

I n diese Position wird Tonarm nun mit dem seitlichen Gewindestift in der Tonarmbasis handfest fixiert.

4.2 Einstellung der Tonarmhöhe

Die nachfolgenden Einstellungen des Tonarmes erfordern die Montage des Tonabnehmersystems auf dem Headshell. Befolgen Sie hierzu die Anweisungen des Tonabnehmer-Herstellers.
Belassen Sie den Nadelschutz auf I hrem Tonabnehmersystem!

Verbinden Sie das jeweilige Signalkabel mit dem farblich passenden Pin des Tonabnehmersystems. Beachten Sie dabei folgende Farbcodierung:

Rot : Grün: Weiß: Blau:

rechter Kanal / R+ rechter Kanal / R-
linker Kanal / L+ linker Kanal / L-

Verbinden Sie ohne große Krafteinwirkung die Anschlussstifte I hres Tonabnehmers mit den Buchsen des Headshell oder Tonarm-Kabels. Falls nötig, können Sie eine geeignete Präzisionszange oder Pinzette zur Hilfestellung verwenden.

Zusätzlich muss das Auflagegewicht grob voreingestellt werden, hierfür muss ein GegengewichtPaar aus dem Lieferumfang montiert werden.

LOW = 2x 14 g MID = 2x 18 g HIGH = 2x 32 g

= 28 g = 36 g = 64 g

Die Wahl des Gegengewichts-Paar richtet sich nach dem Eigengewicht I hres Tonabnehmers. Für die nächsten Schritte empfehlen wir zu Beginn das mittlere Gegengewicht mit insgesamt 36 g zu montieren. Sollte der Tonarm durch das Gegengewicht nicht in Waage bleiben, wechseln Sie das Gewicht zu dem leichteren/ schwereren Gegengewichts-Paar.

Die Gegengewichte werden durch eine magnetische Halterung am Ende des Tonarmrohrs angebracht.

Stellen Sie sicher, dass die VTA-Einstellung des Tonarms auf ,,0" steht.

Lösen Sie den Tonarm über den seitlichen Gewindestift in der Tonarmbasis.
Legen Sie nun eine Schallplatte, die mitgelieferte Einstellschablone oder die clearaudio DrehtonarmEinstellschablone/IEC (Art.Nr. AC005/IEC, auch erhältlich über www.analogshop.de) auf den Plattenteller und entfernen Sie den Nadelschutz I hres Tonabnehmers. Entfernen Sie die Anti-Skating-Schraube des Tonarms durch Herausdrehen (Abb. 15.), diese wird wieder zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt eingesetzt.

Bitte gehen Sie w ährend der folgenden Schritte äußerst vorsichtig vor! Bew egen Sie niemals den Tonabnehmer in der Justageschablone, w ährend dieser abgesenkt ist.

Senken Sie den Tonarm mithilfe des Lifts ab und überprüfen Sie, ob das Tonarmrohr parallel zur Platte steht. Sie können hierzu die mitgelieferte Einstellschablone verwenden und diese hinter den Tonarm auf die Platte stellen und damit die Parallelität ablesen (Abb. 17). Das Tonarmrohr sollte nicht den Liftbügel berühren, aber die Nadel muss auf der Schallplatte oder IEC-Schablone aufliegen.
Steht das Tonarmrohr nicht parallel, sondern zeigt eine leichte Neigung, setzen Sie das Tonarmrohr zurück in die Ruheposition. Heben/ Senken Sie nun den gesamten Tonarm vorsichtig in der Basis auf/ ab und überprüfen Sie erneut die Parallelität.

In dieser Position wird der Tonarm nun in der Basis handfest fixiert.
Nach Fixieren können Sie die Einstellung nochmals überprüfen und gegebenenfalls korrigieren. I st diese unverändert, können Sie den Tonarm wieder in die Halterung für die Ruheposition setzen und den Nadelschutz wieder aufsetzen.

Der Tonarm kann nun mit dem seitlichen Gewindestift in der Tonarmbasis festgeschraubt werden.

4.3 Korrekte Ausrichtung und Einstellung des Tonabnehmers Zur entgültigen Tonarm- und Tonabnehmerjustage benötigen Sie die ebenfalls im Lieferumfang enthaltene Einstellschablone. Platzieren Sie diese direkt auf den Plattenteller und richten Sie diese so aus, dass der Pfeil auf den Tonarmdrehpunkt zeigt (Abb. 18).

Entnehmen Sie den Tonarm aus der Ruheposition und richten Sie diesen im Bereich des Fadenkreuzes aus. Senken Sie den Tonarm ab und überprüfen Sie die Ausrichtung. Der Tonabnehmer-Körper muss im Raster der Schablone so ausgerichtet werden, dass die Nadelspitze im Fadenkreuz sitzt und die seitlichen und vorderen Gehäusekanten parallel zu den Rasterlinien verlaufen.
Zur Korrekt ur müssen Sie die Schrauben des Tonabnehmers etwas lösen, damit der Tonabnehmer im Headshell beweglich ist.
Überprüfen Sie die Einstellung nochmals, nachdem Sie die Schrauben fixiert haben!

4.4 Feinjustage des Auflagegewichts
Wie unter Punkt 4.2 beschrieben, richtet sich die Wahl des Gegengewichts nach dem Eigengewicht des Tonabnehmers.

Im Lieferumfang des Unity Tonarms befinden sich 3 Gegengewichtspaare, welche durch eine magnetische Halterung leicht angebracht und ausgetauscht werden können.

Stellen Sie die korrekte Auflagekraft Ihres Tonabnehmers, laut der Herstelleranleitung, ein.

Zur Überprüfung der korrekten Auflagekraft empfehlen wir die digitale Tonabnehmerwaage ,,Weight Watcher touch"
von clearaudio (Art.: AC163; auch erhältlich über www. analogshop.de).

Erhöhen oder verringern Sie das Auflagegewicht des Tonabnehmers durch Drehen des Stellrads am Ende des Tonarms.

Sollten Sie das gewünschte Auflagegewicht mit dem mittleren Gegengewichts-Paar nicht erreichen, wechseln Sie zum leichteren / schwereren Paar.

4.5 Einstellung des Azimuth
Der Azimuth bezeichnet den Winkel, den die Nadel des Tonabnehmersystems - von vorne betrachtet - zur Schallplatte einnimmt. Die Nadel sollte senkrecht zur Platte stehen.
Bitte beachten Sie: Der Azimuth ist w erksseitig schon eingestellt.
Falls Sie den Azimuth noch optimieren wollen, verfahren Sie wie folgt: Bitte beachten: Da es sich um eine Einheit handelt, sollten die beiden Schrauben niemals einzeln gelöst w erden ( Abb. 22) !

Halten Sie beim Arbeiten am Tonarm immer den
Lagerblock zur Sicherheit fest. Lösen Sie die Schrauben mithilfe eines Innensechskantschlüssel (#2,5) immer im Wechsel mit einer minimalen Umdrehung (max. 1/4 Umdrehung), bis der Tonarm sich leicht verdrehen lässt .

Nachdem Sie die richtige Position gefunden haben, ziehen Sie die beiden I nbusschrauben wieder vorsichtig fest, ohne dabei die zuvor gewählte Position zu verändern.

Hierbei ebenfalls wechselseitig und gleichmäßig mit einer minimalen Umdrehung max. 1/ 4 Umdrehung vorgehen, bis sich die Schrauben nicht weiter festziehen lassen.
4.6 Einstellung des Anti-Skating

Um die nächste Einstellung vornehmen zu können, wird die zuvor entfernte Anti-Skating-Schraube wieder eingesetzt.

Durch Verstellen der Anti-Skating-Schraube können Sie die AntiSkating-Einstellung vornehmen. Diese wird in Abhängigkeit des Auflagegewichts des Tonabnehmers getroffen.
Bitte beachten: Wenn die Schraube entfernt ist, entspricht dies einer ,,0"-Stellung des Anti-Skating. Durch Eindrehen der Schraube w ird dieses erhöht.

4.6 Einstellung des VTA

Um die Höhe des Tonarms einzustellen, lösen Sie zunächst die Fixiereinheit am Tonarmfuß.

Durch Drehen an der VTA-Schraube entgegen dem Uhrzeigersinn senkt sich der Tonarm; die Skala am VTA wird negat iv.
Durch Drehen an der VTA Schraube im Uhrzeigersinn hebt sich der Tonarm; die Skala am VTA wird positiv.
Die Höhenanpassung I hres Tonarms können Sie sogar während des Abspielens durchführen!
Nach der Höheneinstellung ziehen Sie die Feststellschraube am Tonarmfuß wieder fest.

Die Tonarmjustage ist nun abgeschlossen.
Vor dem Verbinden des Tonarms mit I hrer Phonovorstufe, empfehlen wir, die vorgenommen Einstellungen nochmals zu kontrollieren und gegebenenfalls zu korrigieren.

5. Fehlerbehebung
Sollten Sie ein Problem mit I hrem Unity Tonarm haben, überprüfen Sie zuerst mögliche Ursachen, um eine Fehlbedienung auszuschließen. Sollte der Fehler weiterhin bestehen, wenden Sie sich bitte an I hren Händler!
Versuchen Sie niemals das Produkt zu öffnen und/oder selbst zu reparieren, dies führt zu Garantieverlust!

Verwenden Sie eine Plattenklemme oder ersetzen Sie die Schallplatte.

I st der Plattenspieler in Waage? Überprüfen Sie die Ausrichtung des Plattenspielers und justieren Sie diesen, wenn nötig nach.

Der Tonarm wurde längere Zeit Betätigen Sie den Lift ca. 4-5 mal, damit sich das Tonarmlift senkt nicht verwendet, dadurch kann Fett im Tonarmlift wieder lösen kann und der sich nicht ab bzw . sich das Fett im Tonarmlift etwas Liftbügel wieder gleichmäßig abgesenkt wird.
