Advice Regarding the First Time Use

After installation, remove stoppers from racks and retaining elastic elements from the upper rack.

Filling the Salt Reservoir

Salt prevents limescale formation. The salt reservoir must never be empty. It is important to set the water hardness. The reservoir is in the lower part of the dishwasher and must be filled when the SALT REFILL indicator light is on.

  1. Remove the lower rack and unscrew the reservoir cap (anticlockwise).
  2. For the first use only: fill the salt reservoir with water.
  3. Position the funnel and fill the salt reservoir to the brim (approx. 1 kg); some water may leak out.
  4. Remove the funnel and wipe any salt residue from the opening.

Ensure the cap is screwed on tightly to prevent detergent from entering the water softener, which could cause damage. Always complete the salt filling procedure before starting a wash cycle to avoid corrosion.

Setting the Water Hardness

To ensure the water softener works correctly, set the water hardness according to your local water supplier's information. The factory default is set initially.

  1. Switch the appliance ON using the ON/OFF button.
  2. Switch the appliance OFF using the ON/OFF button.
  3. Press and hold the START/Pause button for 5 seconds until a beep is heard.
  4. Switch the appliance ON using the ON/OFF button. The current selection level and the salt indicator light will flash.
  5. Press the P button to select the desired hardness level (refer to the Water Hardness Table).

Water Hardness Table

Level°dH (German degrees)°fH (French degrees)°Clark (English degrees)
1 Soft0 - 60 - 100 - 7
2 Medium7 - 1111 - 208 - 14
3 Average12 - 1621 - 2915 - 20
4 Hard17 - 3430 - 6021 - 42
5 Very hard35 - 5061 - 9043 - 62

Switch the appliance OFF by pressing the ON/OFF button. Setting is complete! Run a program without loading immediately after setting. Use only dishwasher-specific salt. The SALT REFILL indicator light will turn off after adding salt. Failure to fill the salt container can damage the water softener and heating element due to limescale. Salt use is recommended with any dishwasher detergent.

Filling the Rinse Aid Dispenser

Rinse aid aids drying. Fill the dispenser (A) when the RINSE AID REFILL indicator light is on.

  1. Open dispenser (B) by pressing and pulling the lid tab.
  2. Pour rinse aid (max. 110 ml), avoiding overflow. Clean spills immediately with a dry cloth.
  3. Press the lid down until it clicks shut. Never pour rinse aid directly into the tub.

Adjusting the Dosage of Rinse Aid

If drying results are unsatisfactory, adjust the rinse aid quantity.

  1. Switch ON using ON/OFF.
  2. Switch OFF using ON/OFF.
  3. Press START/Pause three times (a beep will sound).
  4. Switch ON using ON/OFF. The selection level and rinse aid indicator light will flash.
  5. Press P to select the desired rinse aid level.
  6. Switch OFF using ON/OFF. Setting complete!

Level 1 provides no rinse aid. The LOW RINSE AID indicator will not light up if rinse aid is low. A maximum of 5 levels can be set. Factory settings are model-specific. If dishes show bluish streaks, set to a low number (2-3). If water drops or limescale marks appear, set to a mid-range number (4-5).

Filling the Detergent Dispenser

Use the opening device (C) to open the dispenser. Add detergent to the dry dispenser (D) only. Add pre-wash detergent directly into the tub.

  1. Measure detergent according to information provided. Dispenser (D) has markings to help with dosing.
  2. Remove any detergent residue from the dispenser edges and close the cover until it clicks.
  3. Close the dispenser lid by pulling it up until the closing device is secured.

The dispenser opens automatically during the cycle. For all-in-one detergents, use the TABLET button for optimal washing and drying. Using non-dishwasher detergent may cause malfunction or damage.

Adjusting the Height of the Upper Rack

The upper rack height can be adjusted: high position for bulky lower rack items, or low position to maximize tip-up support space and avoid collisions. The rack has a height adjuster. Without pressing levers, lift the rack by its sides until stable in the upper position. To lower, press levers (A) on the sides and move the basket down. Do not adjust height when loaded. Never raise or lower the basket on one side only.

Cutlery Basket

Equipped with top grilles for better cutlery arrangement. Position only at the front of the lower rack. Knives and sharp utensils must be placed with points facing downwards or horizontally in the upper rack's tip-up compartments.

Foldable Flaps with Adjustable Position

Side foldable flaps can be folded or unfolded to optimize rack arrangement. Wine glasses can be safely placed by inserting the stem into corresponding slots. Depending on the model, unfold by sliding up, rotating, or releasing snaps and pulling down. Fold by rotating, sliding down, or pulling up and attaching to snaps.

Zone Wash 3D

Uses additional water jets in the lower and upper parts (marked orange) for more intensive washing of heavily soiled items, increasing water coverage. Example: Load pots and casseroles facing the lower Zone Wash 3D components and activate the option.

Daily Use

Steps for Daily Use

  1. Check Water Connection: Ensure the dishwasher is connected to the water supply and the tap is open.
  2. Switch On the Dishwasher: Press the ON/OFF button.
  3. Load the Racks: Refer to the 'Loading the Racks' section.

Follow these steps without interruption: Switch ON, then OFF. Press DELAY until a buzzer sounds. Switch ON again. The "dOF" indicator flashes and turns OFF.

Advice and Tips

Tips

  • Before loading, remove all food residues and empty glasses. Pre-rinsing under running water is not necessary.
  • Arrange crockery so it's stable and won't tip over. Place containers with openings facing downwards and concave/convex parts obliquely to allow water to reach all surfaces and drain freely.
  • Lids, handles, and frying pans should not prevent spray arms from rotating.
  • Place small items in the cutlery basket.
  • Very soiled dishes and pans should go in the lower basket, where spray is stronger for better washing performance.
  • Ensure spray arms can rotate freely after loading.

Unsuitable Crockery

  • Wooden crockery and cutlery.
  • Delicate decorated glasses, artistic handicraft, and antique crockery (decorations may not be resistant).
  • Synthetic parts not resistant to high temperatures.
  • Copper and tin crockery.
  • Crockery soiled with ash, wax, lubricating grease, or ink. Colors on glass decorations and aluminum/silver pieces may change or fade. Some glass types (e.g., crystal) may become opaque after several wash cycles.

Damage to Glass and Crockery

  • Use only glasses and porcelain guaranteed by the manufacturer as dishwasher-safe.
  • Use a delicate detergent suitable for crockery.
  • Remove glasses and cutlery from the dishwasher as soon as the wash cycle is over.

Tips on Energy Saving

  • Using the dishwasher according to instructions usually consumes less energy and water than hand washing.
  • For maximum efficiency, start the wash cycle with a fully loaded dishwasher. Loading to capacity saves energy and water. Refer to 'Loading the Racks' for correct loading.
  • For partial loads, use dedicated options (Half load/Zone Wash/Multizone) and load only selected racks. Incorrect loading or overloading can increase resource usage (water, energy, time), increase noise, and reduce cleaning/drying performance.
  • Manual pre-rinsing increases water and energy consumption and is not recommended.

Hygiene

To prevent odors and sediment buildup, run a high-temperature program at least once a month. Use a teaspoon of detergent and run the cycle without loading to clean the appliance.

Care and Maintenance

Cleaning the Filter Assembly

Regularly clean the filter assembly to prevent clogging and ensure proper wastewater drainage. Clogged filters or foreign objects can cause malfunction, reduced performance, noise, or increased resource usage. The filter assembly has three filters to separate food residues. Never use the dishwasher without filters or if a filter is loose. Check and clean the filter assembly monthly or every 30 cycles under running water with a non-metallic brush, following these steps:

  1. Turn the cylindrical filter (A) anticlockwise and pull it out (Fig 1).
  2. Remove the cup filter (B) by gently pressing the side flaps (Fig 2).
  3. Slide out the stainless-steel plate filter (C) (Fig 3).
  4. Carefully remove any foreign objects (e.g., broken glass, porcelain, bones, fruit seeds).
  5. Inspect the trap and remove food residues. NEVER REMOVE the wash-cycle pump protection (black detail) (Fig 4).

After cleaning, reassemble the filter correctly; this is essential for efficient operation.

Diagrams illustrating the filter assembly cleaning steps: Fig 1 shows removing filter A, Fig 2 shows removing filter B, Fig 3 shows removing filter C, and Fig 4 shows the pump protection.

Cleaning the Spray Arms

Food residue can encrust spray arms, blocking holes. Periodically check and clean arms with a small non-metallic brush.

To remove the upper spray arm, turn the plastic locking ring clockwise. Replace it with the side having more holes facing upwards.

Diagram showing how to remove the upper spray arm by turning the locking ring and how to remove the lower spray arm by pulling it upwards.

Water Softening System

The water softener automatically reduces water hardness, preventing scale buildup on the heater and improving cleaning efficiency. It regenerates using salt, so the salt container must be refilled when empty. Regeneration frequency depends on the water hardness setting; it occurs approximately every 6 Eco cycles when the water hardness level is set to 3. Regeneration starts during the final rinse and finishes during the drying phase. A single regeneration uses about 3.5L of water, adds up to 5 minutes to the cycle, and consumes less than 0.005 kWh of energy.

Cleaning the Water Inlet Hose

If water hoses are new or haven't been used for a long time, run water through them to ensure they are clear of impurities before connecting. Failure to do so could block the inlet and damage the dishwasher.
