H3C SR6600 Open Multi-core Router

Product Introduction

The H3C SR6600 is a core router designed for carriers, government, power, finance, education, and enterprise users. It is the industry's first router product based on a multi-core, multi-thread processor architecture, offering a new solution for data communication services. It meets the diverse needs of future business expansion and aligns with the development trends of carriers and IT infrastructure. The SR6600 features a full-service distributed architecture, supporting all services with built-in capabilities, eliminating the need for separate service boards and offering elastic service processing capacity. To meet demands for higher performance, it integrates H3C's self-developed Apollo hardware chip, which combines routing and service processing for higher line-speed forwarding. The SR6600 series utilizes the advanced Comware V7 operating system, which enhances performance, reliability, and scalability through multi-core CPU support, distributed computing, modular design, high availability, and virtualization.

Product Features

• The H3C SR6600 is the industry's first high-end router based on a multi-core, multi-thread architecture, offering high performance, ease of programming, and flexible L4-L7 service applications.
• The control plane uses multi-core and SMP (Symmetrical Multi-Processing) technology. The Comware V7 operating system features independent processes and execution spaces for software modules, allowing dynamic loading and independent upgrades, which enhances system stability and performance.
• It employs a fully distributed architecture with separate hardware for the routing engine, forwarding engine, and service engine. The control plane and service plane are separated, ensuring that services and control do not interfere during full-speed operation. Failover is seamless, and service interruption is avoided. Service engines can independently process NAT, IPSec, and Netstream services, enhancing overall system processing capacity and reliability.
• Multiple H3C SR6600 devices can be virtualized into a single logical device using IRF2 technology, sharing a management channel to simplify network management, topology management, and improve operational efficiency.
• In addition to IRF2 for horizontal virtualization, the H3C SR6600 supports MDC (Multi-Dimension Chassis) technology. MDC allows a single SR6600 to be virtually partitioned into multiple logical network devices. Each virtual device has its own CPU, memory, and board resources, with independent control, data, and management planes, ensuring isolation and non-interference between virtual routers, providing flexible rental options for logical networks.
