Step 1: Hardware Setup
Connecting Your Router
To begin, connect the necessary cables:
- Connect your modem to the router's WAN port using the provided Ethernet cable. The WAN port is typically colored differently (e.g., blue) and labeled "WAN" or "Internet".
- Connect your computer to one of the router's LAN ports using another Ethernet cable for initial setup, or prepare to connect wirelessly. LAN ports are usually yellow or orange and labeled "LAN".
- Connect the power adapter to the router's power port and plug it into a wall outlet.

Powering On and Initializing
After connecting the power adapter, the router will start up. Wait for the LED indicators to stabilize. This process may take a few minutes.
LED Indicator Guide:
- ? Power LED: Indicates the router is receiving power. Should be solid green.
- ? Internet LED: Shows the connection status to your ISP. Should be solid green or blinking green when connected.

Step 2: Initial Configuration
Accessing the Router's Web Interface
You can configure your router using a web browser. Ensure your computer or mobile device is connected to the router (either via Ethernet or the default Wi-Fi network).
Open a web browser and enter the router's default IP address in the address bar. This is typically 192.168.1.1
or 192.168.0.1
. Check the label on the bottom of your router for the exact address, default SSID, and password.
You will be prompted to log in. Use the default username and password found on the router's label.
Setting Up Your Wi-Fi Network
Once logged in, navigate to the Wi-Fi settings section. Here you can:
- Change the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) for both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
- Set a strong, unique password for your Wi-Fi network. It is recommended to use WPA2 or WPA3 security protocols.
Configuring Your Internet Connection
Go to the Internet or WAN settings. Your ISP will provide the necessary connection type (e.g., DHCP, PPPoE) and credentials if required. Follow the on-screen prompts to establish your internet connection.
