Architect's Specification

EW-D EM Rack Receiver

The stationary receiver features switching diversity technology and is designed for use with a companion transmitter in a digital wireless RF transmission system. It operates within ten UHF frequency ranges with a switching bandwidth of up to 56 MHz, supporting selectable frequencies up to 2,240. The receiver includes Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) for remote control via a dedicated app. Key specifications include an audio frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz (-3 dB) @ 3 dBfs, an audio total harmonic distortion (THD) of ≤ -60 dB for 1 kHz @ -3 dBfs input level, and a dynamic range of 134 dB. The menu-driven interface features a backlit LC display showing system status, and an auto-lock feature prevents accidental setting changes. Audio output is provided via a balanced XLR-3M connector (+18 dBu max) and an unbalanced 1/4" (6.3 mm) connector (+12 dBu max). Two BNC-type input sockets are available for antennas. The receiver operates on 12 V power, consuming ≤ 300 mA. It has a rugged metal housing with dimensions of approximately 212 x 44 x 189 mm (8.35" x 1.73" x 7.44") and weighs approximately 1000 grams (2.2 lbs) without accessories. Operating temperature ranges from -10 °C to +55 °C (14 °F to +131 °F). The receiver model is the Sennheiser EW-D EM.

EW-D SK Bodypack Transmitter

The bodypack transmitter is designed for use with a companion receiver in a digital wireless RF transmission system. It operates within ten UHF frequency ranges with a switching bandwidth of up to 56 MHz, supporting selectable frequencies up to 2,240. The transmitter offers an audio frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz (-3 dB) @ 3 dBfs, an audio total harmonic distortion (THD) of ≤ -60 dB for 1 kHz @ -3 dBfs input level, and a dynamic range of 134 dB. A programmable mute switch is included for audio control. Transmitter parameters can be configured via the receiver's menu and synchronized using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Power is supplied by two 1.5 V AA batteries or a Sennheiser BA 70 rechargeable battery pack, providing up to 12 hours of operation (or 8 hours with AA batteries). The occupied bandwidth is 200 kHz, with a transmit power (radiated) of 10 mW ERP (12 mW ERP for the 1785.2 – 1799.8 MHz range) and BLE max power of 10 mW EIRP. The transmitter has a rugged metal housing with dimensions of approximately 63 x 80 x 20 mm (2.48" x 3.15" x 0.79") without the antenna, and weighs approximately 120 grams (0.26 lbs) without batteries. Operating temperature is -10 °C to +55 °C (14 °F to +131 °F). The EW-D SK transmitter is compatible with various Sennheiser lavalier and headset microphones, including ME 2, ME 4, MKE 1, MKE 2 Gold, MKE Essential Omni, HS 2, HSP 2, HSP Essential Omni, ME 3, and SL Headmic 1.
