Google Assistant Setup
This guide explains how to set up and use Google Assistant with your JBL Tune Buds headphones.
a. To set up Google Assistant
- Connect your headphones to your mobile device.
- Set up Google Assistant using your mobile device: On your Android™ device, [press-and-hold] the home button to open Google Assistant and follow the on-screen instructions. (*Only available on Android.)
Note: Google Assistant is available on eligible Android 6.0* devices or later. *Works on Lollipop, Marshmallow and Nougat Android Phones with Google Play Services, >1.5GB of memory and 720p or higher screen resolution. b. To use Google Assistant
Function | What to do |

Talk to Google Assistant | [Tap-and-hold] the voice button while talking, then [release-button] to trigger. Requires pairing with eligible phone and internet connection. For examples of questions and things you can do, visit: assistant.google.com/platforms/headphones |
Get your notifications | [Tap-and-hold] the voice button without talking, then [release-button]. |
Stop Google Assistant | [Tap-once] the voice button. |
Reply to a message (where available) | After receiving a message notification, [tap-and-hold] the voice button to respond. When you're done, [release-button]. |

- If you want to turn on or off Google Assistant, please download the JBL Headphones app. You can select this under Settings > Voice assistant.
Amazon Alexa Setup
This guide explains how to set up and use Amazon Alexa with your JBL Tune Buds headphones.
- Connect your headphones to your mobile device.
- On your mobile device, open or download the Amazon Alexa app and follow the app instructions.
- In the Amazon Alexa app, navigate to the Device Page.
- Click the [plus-sign] (+) button on the top right of the screen and select `Add Device'.
- Select Headphones from the list and then choose your Headphones in the Available Devices section. Follow the rest of the instructions in the Alexa app to complete setup.
- Alexa setup has been completed for your device. [Tap-and-hold] the action button and try one of the below utterances:
Things to Try
- Ask for the weather: "What's the weather?"
- Play audio: "Play today's hits." (Note: Amazon Music is set as the default music service; to change it, use the Alexa app.)
- Voice control your smart home devices: "Turn on the lights."
- Discover more skills: "What new skills do you have?"
- Stop Alexa: While Alexa is talking, say "stop" while [tap-and-hold] the action button, then [release-button].
Note:
- Android™ 6.0 or higher is required for full access to Alexa features when using this device.
- To turn on or off Amazon Alexa, please download the JBL Headphones app. You can select this under Settings > Voice assistant > Amazon Alexa.
- Alexa is not available in all languages and countries. Alexa features and functionality may vary by location.
