Displays and Controls
The main unit features several indicators and controls:
- 1. Channel Cycle Symbol: Indicates the current sensor channel being displayed.
- 2. Channel Selection: Allows selection of the sensor channel.
- 3. Low Battery Indicator: A symbol [low-battery-symbol] appears when batteries need replacement.
- 4. Temperature Trend: An arrow [trend-arrow] indicates if the temperature is rising, falling, or stable.
- 5. Outdoor Temperature: Displays the temperature measured by the remote sensor.
- 6. Maximum Temperature and Humidity: Shows the highest recorded values.
- 7. Outdoor Humidity: Displays the humidity measured by the remote sensor.
- 8. Indoor Temperature: Displays the temperature measured by the main unit.
- 9. Indoor Humidity: Displays the humidity measured by the main unit.
- 10. Hang Hole: An opening on the main unit for wall mounting.
- 11. Main Unit Battery Compartment: Houses 2x AAA batteries.
- 12. Data Transfer Light: A light [data-transfer-light] that flashes when data is transmitted from the sensor.
- 13. Sensor Hang Hole: An opening on the remote sensor for wall mounting.
- 14. Sensor Battery Compartment: Houses 2x AAA batteries for the remote sensor.
- 15. Sensor Channel Select Button: A button on the remote sensor to set its transmission channel.
Diagram A illustrates the main unit's front display, showing indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity readings, trend indicators, and battery status. The back of the unit shows the hang hole and battery compartment.
Diagram B shows the remote sensor with its hang hole, battery compartment, and channel select button.
Buttons
The main unit has four primary buttons:
- A: LIGHT Button: Press to activate the display backlight.
- B: CH Select Button: Press to cycle through sensor channels (1, 2, 3) or hold to search for RF signals.
- C: °C/°F / Today/48Hr/All-Time Button: Press to switch temperature units (°C/°F) or toggle between current, 48-hour, and all-time historical data displays.
- D: Max/Min Display Button: Press to view the maximum and minimum recorded temperature and humidity values.
Diagram C identifies these buttons by letters A, B, C, and D.
Main Functions
- 1. Indoor Temperature Display: Measures and displays indoor temperature within the range of -10°C (14°F) to 50°C (122°F).
- 2. Outdoor Temperature Display: Measures and displays outdoor temperature within the range of -40°C (-40°F) to 60°C (122°F).
- 3. Indoor/Outdoor Humidity Display: Measures and displays humidity levels from 10% to 99%.
- 4. Indoor/Outdoor Temperature Trend: Indicates whether the temperature is increasing, decreasing, or remaining stable.
- 5. Indoor/Outdoor Humidity Trend: Indicates whether the humidity is increasing, decreasing, or remaining stable.
- 6. Low Battery Indicator: Alerts the user when the batteries in the main unit or remote sensor are low.
- 7. Backlight: Illuminates the display for improved readability in low light conditions.
- 8. 3 Channels for RF Cycle Display: Supports receiving data from up to three wireless remote sensors simultaneously.
- 9. Today/48Hr/All-Time Outdoor/Indoor Temperature/Humidity History: Allows users to review past temperature and humidity readings.
- 10. Temperature Unit °C/°F Switch: Enables switching between Celsius and Fahrenheit for temperature readings.
Setting Up Power Supply
Main Unit Setup
- Remove the battery compartment cover from the main unit.
- Insert two AAA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity [plus-minus-symbol].
- Replace the battery compartment cover.
Remote Sensor Setup
- Remove the battery compartment cover from the remote sensor.
- Insert two AAA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity [plus-minus-symbol].
- Set the channel selector switch on the sensor to the desired channel (1, 2, or 3).
- Replace the battery compartment cover.
Channel Select
In normal operating mode:
- Press the CH button (Button B) to select Channel 1, Channel 2, or Channel 3.
- Hold the CH button for approximately 3 seconds to reset values and initiate a search for an RF signal from the sensors.
- When the circle symbol [cycle-symbol] appears after holding the button, the thermometer will display a three-channel loop.
°C/°F Switch / History Display
Use Button C for unit and history functions:
- In normal mode, hold and press Button C for approximately 3 seconds to switch the temperature unit between °C and °F.
- Press Button C to switch the display between Today's, 48-hour, and All-Time historical data.
MAX/MIN Temperature and Humidity
Use Button D for maximum and minimum value functions:
- In normal mode, press Button D to check the maximum and minimum temperature and humidity history.
- Press and hold Button D for 3 seconds to clear the current temperature and humidity history.
Backlight
When the unit is powered by batteries, press the LIGHT button (Button A) to illuminate the screen. The backlight will remain active for 8 seconds.
