InCarTec FK-329-EVO Stereo Fitting Kit for Pioneer SPH-EV0950DAB
This stereo upgrade fitting kit allows the installation of a Pioneer SPH-EV0950DAB into an Abarth or Fiat 500 equipped with a Single DIN factory fitted radio.
Kit Contents:
- Antenna adapter (21-120K)
- Steering control interface (39-FIA-01)
- Pioneer patch lead (Part of 39-FIA-01)
- Single DIN fascia adapter (50-329)
- Aftermarket DAB antenna (70-923)
- Pioneer SPH-EV0950DAB unit
- Radio release keys (52-010)
STEP 1 - Removing the Factory Radio
Tools Required:
- Flat edge screwdriver
- Radio removal keys
- Use a flat edge screwdriver to carefully remove the four button tabs located on the factory radio.
- Insert the radio release keys into the positions of the exposed button tabs. Push down on both keys simultaneously to release the radio, then pull it towards you to lift it out of the dashboard.
- With the factory radio removed, carefully disconnect the factory ISO connectors (labeled 1 and 2) and the antenna aerial lead (labeled 3). Leave these safely exposed outside the dash, as they will be required again in Step 4.
- Finally, remove the metal radio cage that was holding the factory radio in place.
STEP 2 - Assembling the EVO950
- Remove the Single DIN factory radio from the vehicle.
- Assemble the radio cage as per the manufacturer's instructions.
- Insert the Single DIN fascia adapter (50-329) into the factory dashboard to check its fit.
- Slide the radio cage (containing the EVO950) into the fascia adapter (50-329). Once the cage and adapter are mounted correctly, release the tabs on the cage into the fascia. The assembly should resemble the provided diagram.
If the cage is mounted correctly to the fascia adapter, remove it from the dashboard to prepare for wiring installation.
STEP 3 - Installing the Wiring to the EVO950
Before beginning, ensure the patch lead is assembled correctly and the DIP switches on the 39-FIA-01 are set appropriately. Pin 3 is not used. The DIP switch settings are indicated as '1-Jack Base', '2-Jack Mid', and '4-Jack Tip'.
PLEASE NOTE: If the recommended option does not work, consult the troubleshooting section for alternative DIP switch settings.
Connect the power lead supplied with the radio to the back of the EVO950. Move the green, pink, and purple wires of the radio harness aside; these are used later in the installation.
- Connect the black and brown ISO connectors from the steering wheel control interface (39-FIA-01) to the black ISO connector on the EVO950's power lead.
- Connect the 3.5mm jack of the Pioneer patch lead (from the 39-FIA-01) to the back of the EVO950, specifically to the port labeled 'wired remote input (11)' in the EVO950 manual.
- Connect the loose purple (Reverse), pink (Speed Pulse), and green (Parking Brake) wires from the 39-FIA-01 to the corresponding purple, pink, and green loose wires on the radio harness.
- Connect the DIN aerial connection to the back of the aftermarket radio.
- Connect the bullet connector on the blue wire to the blue/white wire on the Pioneer radio harness.
STEP 4 - Connecting the EVO950 to the Dashboard
With the steering wheel control interface (39-FIA-01) and the antenna adapter (21-120R) correctly connected to the back of the Pioneer EVO950, the installation should start to look like the provided image. It is now time to connect it to the vehicle's original wiring.
Connect the black female connector from the steering wheel control interface (39-FIA-01) to the grey factory male ISO connector in the vehicle.
Connect the female red connector from the steering wheel control interface (39-FIA-01) to the black factory male connector in the vehicle.
Connect the antenna adapter (21-120K) to the male antenna connector in the vehicle.
When all connections are made as per the diagram, turn on the vehicle's ignition.
Upon successful connection, the Green LED on the steering wheel control interface will illuminate, indicating it is recognizing the vehicle's CANbus. The Yellow LED will indicate that the interface is providing an ignition power supply.
If the Green light is not illuminated, check the connections and refer to the troubleshooting section for guidance on adjusting DIP switch settings.
Once both LEDs are illuminated, replace the black cover on the interface. Turn off the vehicle ignition.
STEP 5 - Connecting the Aftermarket DAB Antenna
Please refer to the instructions provided with the aftermarket DAB antenna (70-923) for installation details.
STEP 6 - Connecting the GPS Aerial
Please refer to page 17 of your Pioneer quick start guide for installation instructions.
STEP 7 - Connecting the Microphone
Please refer to page 18 of your Pioneer quick start guide for installation instructions.
STEP 8 - Mount the System into the Dashboard
With all necessary connections made, it is time to mount the EVO system into the vehicle dashboard.
- Carefully feed all cabling behind the dashboard, ensuring sufficient space for the radio cage to slide into the Single DIN slot.
- Slide the radio cage into the vehicle's dashboard and ensure the system is secure.
- Turn on the vehicle ignition; the system will power up.
The system should now be ready to use.
