Cable Requirements

Power Supply for SALTO RFnet

Parameter Min Typ Max Unit
Input Voltage 7 12 28 V
Current consumption - - 45 mA (Note 2)

Power Supply for BLUEnet

Parameter Min Typ Max Unit
Input voltage - 25 - V
Current consumption RFNode - - 45 mA (Note 2)
Current consumption RFNet - - 75 mA (Note 2)

Note 2: Power supply must be calculated considering the current consumption of both the SALTO Gateway and the Nodes.

Mechanical Installation

The installation requires a standard 1-gang electrical box. The diagram shows the dimensions for mounting the node within the box.

Diagram Description: A diagram illustrates the mounting of the BLUEnet Node or RFnet Node into a standard 1-gang electrical box. It shows the box with the node inside, connected via RS485 bus and power supply. Dimensions are provided in inches and millimeters.

RS485 Bus Termination: A warning indicates that an RS485 bus termination resistor is needed (in the ON position) when the node is located at the end of the bus.

Installation Example

Diagram Description: A series of diagrams show the typical setup for connecting SALTO devices. It illustrates a SALTO Gateway connected via UTP CAT5e cable (1 pair RS485, 1 pair 12v Power) to multiple BLUEnet Nodes or RFnet Nodes. The maximum distance between devices is indicated as 25m, and the RF link to the node is up to 5/10m.

Signalling

The green LED (for RFnet Node) or blue LED (for BLUEnet Node) on the device indicates that the device is powered correctly.

Operational Test

After installation, perform the following steps to verify correct operation:

  1. Ensure the SALTO Gateway and locks are installed.
  2. Check that the RFnet Node or BLUEnet Node is active in the SALTO software.

Maintenance

It is recommended to perform an operational test at least once a year. Keep the device in a safe place.

Radio Information

The surrounding environment significantly impacts radio range due to factors like metal and concrete walls. Ensure the receiving device's antenna is positioned to face the product's antenna. The recommended connectivity distance is 5m - 10m.
