Bodet Style Clock Support Bracket Installation Guide
This manual provides instructions for installing Bodet Style clock support brackets.
I - Initial Verification
Thank you for choosing a BODET Style clock support bracket kit. This manual refers to support brackets for clocks in the BODET Style II range.
1.1 Safety Instructions
The metal parts of the bracket must be connected to the earth if the clocks are powered by the mains. A 16A phase-neutral circuit breaker must be used in the power line for protection and to allow for disconnection during maintenance. Powering up should only occur after installation is complete. Screws and wall plugs must be suitable for the wall type and capable of supporting three times the weight of the clocks (minimum 5 Kg).
II - Installation
The assembly principle is identical for the entire Style II range. Specific features may vary by model (e.g., earth wiring for Style 10 and 10S).
Step 1: Choosing the type of installation
Two types of installation are possible: flag-mounted or ceiling-mounted.
Flag-mounted installation: involves cutting the blanking plate on the shorter flange of the support bracket.
Suspended installation: involves cutting the blanking plate on the longest flange of the support bracket.
Visuals show double-sided support brackets for flag-mounted Style 10 clocks. Reference numbers for hardware (screws, nuts, etc.) in this document may refer to the double-sided support bracket for Style 10/10S (ref: 946005). Match hardware references with the parts list for your specific bracket.
Step 2: Closing up the support bracket
- Route the power supply and synchronization cable (for wired clocks) into the support tube. This cable is from the client installation.
- Mount the bracket arm to the wall. Refer to page 11 for screw hole distances.
- Fit the spacers to one of the bracket side plates using screws (ref: 601070) through the holes opposite the cut-out blanking plate. Ensure the spacers are flat and parallel to the bracket arm.
- Attach bracket side plates 1 and 2 to the bracket arm. Use the supplied screws to attach the second side plate to the spacers on the first.
* Applies to clock models: Style 10/10S/10D/10SD
Step 3: Electrical connections
3.1 NTP-PoE Clocks
3.1.1 Single sided:
Connect the client's Ethernet cable to the RJ45 socket of the synchronization card.
3.1.2 Double Sided:
Connect the client's Ethernet cable to the RJ45 socket of the master clock. Connect the supplied RJ12 cable to the RJ12 sockets of both the master and slave clocks.
3.2 100-240 VAC Clocks
3.2.1 Single sided:
3.2.1.1 Grounding
Connect the earth from the main wire bundle (client wiring) to the bracket arm. Fit a cable lug. Connect earth to bracket side plate 1, bracket side plate 2, and clock bracket 1. If the bracket arm is shortened, the earth connection must be moved to the bracket arm.
3.2.1.2 Power supply and synchronisation connections
Power supply connections are made using blue and brown cable kits. Synchronization signal connections are made using white and grey cable kits.
3.2.2 Double sided:
3.2.2.1 Grounding
Connect the earth from the main wire bundle (client wiring) to the bracket arm. Fit a cable lug. Connect earth to bracket side plate 1 and 2. Connect earth to clock bracket 1 and clock bracket 2 (for double-sided) or to the rear casing (for single-sided). If the bracket arm is shortened, the earth connection must be moved to the bracket arm.
3.2.2.2 Power supply and synchronisation connections
Power supply connections use blue and brown cable kits. Synchronization signal connections use white and grey cable kits.
Step 4: Clock bracket and cover
Mount the brackets using 4 screws (ref: 601104) and 4 nuts (ref: 601213).
Single sided: Connect the grounding wire (Style 10 only) to the terminal block, insert the spacers (ref: 607869), and attach the cover with 2 screws (ref: 601071). The cover hides the electrical wiring.
