Components
The heat gun includes the following components:
- 1. Heat Outlet Nozzle
- 2. Handle
- 3. ON/Heat Level Switch
- 4. Reflector Nozzle
- 5. Deflector Nozzle
- 6. Scraper
- 7. Concentrator Nozzle

Diagram Description: An illustration shows the heat gun with numbered components. The main body of the gun has the handle (2), trigger switch (3), and power cord (8) exiting the rear. The front features the heat outlet nozzle (1). Four separate attachments are shown below: Reflector Nozzle (4), Deflector Nozzle (5), Scraper (6), and Concentrator Nozzle (7). The Vertical Resting Base (9) is not explicitly shown attached but is listed as a component.
Accessories
The following accessories are included or available:
- Reflector Nozzle: Suitable for defrosting (metal only) frozen pipes or bending plastics.
- Deflector Nozzle: Use to remove paint or varnish from large, flat surfaces such as skirting boards and doors.
- Scraper: Best suited for scraping already loosened paint from most surfaces.
- Concentrator Nozzle: Ideal for removing paint in awkward corners, crevices, mouldings, beading or architraves.
Working Positions & Operation
Working Positions:
- Attaching nozzles involves fitting them onto the heat outlet.
- The scraper (6) is used with the heat gun, often held by hand.
- The deflector nozzle (5) is shown being attached and used to direct airflow.
- The concentrator nozzle (7) is shown being attached and used, with a note indicating a 50mm distance from the surface.
Operation:
The heat gun has three temperature settings:
- Position 0: *0°C (Note: The temperature at position 0 will remain extremely hot after use until given time to cool. Place the Heat Gun on the Vertical Resting Base (9) after use to allow the gun to cool safely.)
- Position 1: 350°C
- Position 2: 550°C
Before Use - Paint Stripping
It is important to determine if the paint to be stripped contains lead. This can be done using a test kit or by a professional decorator.
- Do not smoke, eat, or drink in a work area that could be contaminated by lead. Lead-based paints should only be removed by a professional and not with a heat gun.
- Take care not to burn the paint, as this could cause a fire. Direct the hot air at the working area to heat the paint.
- Keep the nozzle at least 50 mm from the surface.
- When the paint softens, remove it using the paint scraper attachment (6). Do not allow it to burn.
- Scrape the softened paint immediately or it will harden again.
- Scrape with the grain of the wood wherever possible.
- Do not allow paint and debris to collect on the scraper.
- When scraping from a vertical position, scrape downwards to prevent paint from falling back into the nozzle.
- When stripping paint near glass, take measures to protect the glass from heat.
- IMPORTANT: Use the Deflector Nozzle (5) when stripping paint from metal or wood-framed windows.
- Dispose of all paint debris safely and ensure the work area is thoroughly clean after use.
- Do not allow paint to adhere to the nozzle, as it could ignite after some time.
