01 Introduction
This user manual provides essential information for the proper use and maintenance of the iGRAVELX bicycle (models EC296, EC286, EC276, EC246, EC226). Please read the entire manual carefully. Type of Assembly Compound

02 BH Warranty
BH BIKES is committed to producing durable bicycles that meet high-quality standards. In addition to the statutory warranty, BH BIKES offers extended coverage.
Statutory Warranty
The statutory warranty covers manufacturing defects and non-conformities for the original purchaser. It applies to BH-manufactured frames and components. The warranty period is determined by the laws of the country of purchase and begins on the purchase date. During this period, manufacturing defects will be repaired or replaced free of charge, including transport expenses and resulting losses. Conditions for coverage include:
- This warranty does not affect consumer rights under local laws.
- Faulty items are covered based on BH Technical Service decisions.
- Parts subject to normal wear and tear are not covered.
- Defects from improper use, competitions, non-original accessories, or incorrect maintenance are excluded.
- The warranty requires proper pre-delivery and periodic inspections documented by an authorized BH dealer.
- If repairs are unsatisfactory, the purchaser may request replacement or a refund.
- The warranty period is interrupted during repairs and renewed for replaced items.
- Claims must be submitted within six months after the warranty expires.
- All warranty claims must be processed through an authorized dealer.

Lifetime Frame Warranty
BH Bikes offers an extended commercial policy for frames beyond the statutory warranty, applicable to frames sold through authorized BHBIKES EUROPE S.L. stores. Key points:
- Registration must be completed online within 30 days of purchase, including the bike's serial number.
- This warranty is non-transferable and is void upon sale to a third party.
- Bicycle servicing must be performed by an authorized BHBIKES EUROPE establishment following the user manual instructions.
- The LIFETIME warranty does NOT cover: rear swingarms on dual suspension models, forks, kids' bikes, paint defects/fading, rust from natural deterioration, accidents, improper/negligent use, non-compatible accessories, improper handling, scratches/stains from cleaning agents or UV exposure, normal wear and tear, material fatigue, use in competitions/demos/rentals.

Extended Warranty of Up to 5 Years on BH Motors
Activating the Lifetime Frame warranty also activates a 5-year extended warranty for BH motors. This warranty covers manufacturing defects in BH motors beyond the statutory period, provided the bike and motor were purchased through authorized BHBIKES EUROPE S.L. stores. Registration within 30 days of purchase is required. This warranty is non-transferable and void upon sale. Servicing must be done by authorized establishments. It does not cover paint fading, corrosion, accidents, improper use, non-compatible parts, improper handling, scratches, wear and tear, use in competitions/demos/rentals, or motors on MONTY range bicycles.

Extended Warranty for BH Batteries
BH offers an extended warranty for its e-Bike batteries, covering manufacturing defects beyond the statutory period. This applies to batteries installed in BH bikes sold through authorized stores. Registration within 30 days of purchase is required. The warranty is non-transferable and void upon sale. Servicing must be done by authorized establishments. It does not cover paint fading, corrosion, accidents, improper use, deterioration due to age (after 500 cycles if capacity drops below 30%), non-compatible parts, improper handling, scratches, wear and tear, use in competitions/demos/rentals, or auxiliary batteries.

Registering Extended Warranties
To benefit from BH BIKES additional warranties, register your bicycle within 30 days of purchase. The process involves registering on the BH BIKES website for the Lifetime Frame Warranty and 5 Years Warranty on BH Engines. A video guide is available at youtu.be/47aLVgUI248. The serial number is located on the bottom of the bicycle, on the seat tube, above the bottom bracket.
Submitting a Warranty Claim
All warranty claims must be processed through an official BH dealer. The dealer will assess the claim and submit it to BH. BH will then define corrective measures, communicated via the dealer. Inspect the Bicycle Before Use
Before each ride, perform the following checks to ensure the bicycle is in perfect working order:
- FRAME: Check for cracks, damage, or unusual noises.
- CHAIN: Ensure it is lubricated and the transmission operates smoothly.
- BRAKES: Verify proper function. When stopped, squeeze brake levers firmly to ensure they do not reach the handlebars.
- TYRES: Check correct pressure and inspect for cuts on the tread and sidewalls. Ensure tread wear is within limits.
- WHEELS: Ensure wheels rotate freely and are properly centered within the frame and fork. Check brake pad clearance and frame-to-tyre clearance.
- STEERING: Confirm smooth steering operation without strange noises.
- SWINGARM ROTATION POINTS: Check suspension function and listen for noises under load. Play in moving parts may indicate incorrect torque or worn bearings.
- BEARINGS: Ensure bearings operate smoothly and quietly. Replace worn bearings to prevent damage to other components.
- ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: If equipped, verify the electrical assistance mode, motor, display, and speed sensor are functioning correctly. Check all connections for damage.
❗ Do not ride a faulty bicycle. If unsure, contact a BH workshop. Failure to follow tightening torque recommendations can lead to accidents.
Bicycle parts are subject to fatigue and wear due to dynamic loads. Regularly inspect for signs of wear, scratches, bent parts, finish wear, or cracks. Parts may fail suddenly after their service life; have them replaced by an authorized BH workshop.
Keep the Bicycle Clean
Follow these measures for optimal performance and to prevent premature wear:
- Clean dust and mud with a damp sponge and mild, neutral cleaning product.
- Wash plastic parts with soapy water only.
- Wash tires with a sponge or brush and soapy water.
- After cleaning, dry thoroughly with a smooth cloth.
- Lubricate transmission elements after each cleaning.
❗ Never use pressure washers or steam cleaners. Dirt can cause damage and accidents.
Keep the Transmission Lubricated at All Times
After washing, the chain may require re-lubrication. Apply lubricant sparingly to avoid attracting excess dirt, which can cause premature wear.

Part Maintenance
Regular maintenance and inspections are necessary. Frequency depends on usage type (leisure, road, mountain) and conditions.

Spare Parts
Use original parts for optimal performance and safety. Non-original parts may cause damage not covered by warranty. Common spare parts include tires, inner tubes, brake pads, disc brakes, rims, headlights, position lights, batteries, and accumulators.
- TYRES: Replace with equivalent ETRTO standard tires. Ensure clearance to frame and fork.
- INNER TUBES: Use suitable inner tubes matching the tire type and ETRTO standard.
- DISC BRAKES AND BRAKE PADS: Follow manufacturer instructions.
- HEADLIGHTS AND POSITION LIGHTS: Replace bulbs with the same type.
- CHAIN, COG AND CHAIN RINGS: Follow manufacturer instructions.
- BATTERIES AND ACCUMULATORS: Replace with the same type.
Remember that using non-original parts may lead to damage not covered by warranty.
After a Fall, Blow or Impact
If you experience a fall or impact:
- Ensure you are okay to continue cycling. Seek medical assistance if injured.
- If okay, check the bicycle for proper working order:
- Wheels: Verify secure attachment and centering. Adjust brakes if necessary for wheel clearance.
- Handlebars/Frame: Check for twists or breaks. Ensure the front is securely seated on the fork.
- Chain: Check for correct fitment and operation, especially if the bicycle fell on the transmission side. Ensure gears are not bent, which could cause the chain to come off or damage components.
- Other Components: Check saddle, upper tube, and bottom bracket box for defects.
- Bolts: Lift the bicycle and let it drop slightly; check for loose bolts if noises occur.
- General Inspection: Re-inspect the entire bicycle for bent areas, worn finish, or cracks.
Ride cautiously if no issues are found. If unsure, do not risk an accident and seek assistance. Inspect the bicycle again at home.
❗ Bent aluminum parts must not be straightened; they must be replaced due to the high risk of breakage.
04 Warnings on Use
- MAXIMUM TYRE SIZE: Ensure at least 6mm clearance between the tire and frame/fork when using different tire sizes.
- MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM INSERTION LENGTH OF THE SEAT POST: Failure to adhere to these limits can cause frame damage and serious accidents. Warranty does not cover damage from incorrect seat post insertion.
- MAXIMUM FORK LENGTH (AXLE-TO-CROWN): Observe the specified maximum fork length to prevent frame damage and accidents.
- MAXIMUM NUMBER OF STEERING SPACERS: Do not exceed the specified number of steering spacers under the stem to prevent material damage and accidents.
- POSITION OF THE SPINDLE INSIDE THE FORK TUBE: No steering spacers should be fitted above the stem, as this can cause material damage and accidents.
- INTENDED USE: This bicycle is designed for road use. Wheels must maintain constant contact with the asphalt for frame and fork longevity.
05 Warnings on Use of the Electrical Assistance System
Care and Instructions for Use of Electrical Components and Batteries
BH products are designed for splashes and rain, but certain practices can cause damage or short circuits. Avoid:
- Washing the bicycle with pressure devices.
- Using the bicycle in adverse weather conditions.
- Transporting the bicycle on the exterior of a vehicle during rain.
- Exposing batteries to temperatures above 70°C, which can cause leaks or fire risk.
- Ignoring working temperature, storage, and charging ranges.
Recommendations to Maximise Battery Life
- Charge on a flat, stable surface, away from direct sunlight.
- Ensure children and pets are not near the charging area.
- Charge in a well-ventilated, dry place, protected from rain and dampness.
- Maintain a temperature between 15-25°C during charging.
- Avoid using the battery with less than 10% charge, as this can affect cell lifespan.
❗ Unauthorized handling of electrical system components can cause serious accidents and void the warranty.
Warnings on the Use of Batteries
Improper battery use can cause damage and accidents. Follow these guidelines:
- Always use the original battery charger.
- Keep the battery away from heat sources.
- Do not heat or incinerate the battery.
- Prevent battery connections from contacting metal objects.
- Do not submerge the battery in water or expose it to splashes/dampness.
- Do not hit or drill the battery.
- If battery liquid contacts skin or eyes, flush immediately with water.
- Do not use a damaged battery.
- Clean the battery only with a dry or damp cloth.
Unsuitable Charging and Discharging Environments and Solutions
Extreme temperatures can cause charging to enter standby or sleep mode without fully charging.
- Winter Discharging Sleep Mode (DUT): Below -20°C, the battery enters deep sleep to protect itself, disabling pedal assistance. Sleep mode automatically deactivates when the temperature rises above -20°C.
- Winter Charging Sleep Mode (CUT): Below 0°C, charging enters sleep mode. If temperatures drop further during charging (e.g., overnight), charging stops to protect the battery. Sleep mode deactivates automatically when the temperature exceeds 0°C.
- Electronic Interference: Charging near TVs, radios, or computers may cause static or interference. Recharge in a different location.
Recycling
Lithium-ion batteries are recyclable. Dispose of them responsibly according to local regulations for electrical components and batteries to prevent environmental harm.
Motor
The DC motor is located at the bottom bracket axle. Its service life is comparable to other bicycle parts, typically lasting 10-20 years or up to 100,000 km under normal conditions.
06 Pedal Assistance System Operation
Components of the Pedal Assistance System
The BH Bikes pedal assistance system comprises:
- A. Motor: Drives the bicycle.
- B. Control Panel: Used to select assistance modes.
- C. Battery: Powers the motor.
- D. Torque Sensor: Measures pedaling force.
- E. Display (CORE DISPLAY): Shows system information.

Pedal Assistance System
The system provides optimal assisted power based on pedaling force, speed, and transmission. Assistance is not provided in the following situations:
- Control panel is off.
- Speed exceeds 25 km/h.
- Not pedaling, or throttle released at 6 km/h.
- Battery has no remaining capacity.
- Assistance mode is set to 0%.
Parts of the Control Panel
The Core display features a ring of 12 LEDs and a central multifunction button.

Switching the Pedal Assistance System On and Off
To turn the system ON, press the power button on the Core display (located on the stem). The display will show a blue animation and the current assistance mode. To turn the system OFF, press and hold the multi-function button for 3 seconds until the screen turns off.
Selecting the Pedal Assistance Mode
The system offers several assistance modes:
- Boost (Red LED): For maximum power.
- Trail (Orange LED): For climbing difficult terrains.
- Eco (Green LED): For maximum range.
- No Assist (White LED): For unassisted riding, allowing use of other functions.
Cycle through modes by pressing the multifunction button once to increase assistance level, and twice to decrease it.

Assistance Level
Assistance levels are limited based on battery charge to preserve battery life:
- Above 20% charge: 100% of the highest assistance level is available.
- 10%-20% charge: Assistance limited to 50% of the highest level.
- 5%-10% charge: Assistance limited to 25% of the highest level.
- 1%-5% charge: Assistance is not permitted; only lights can be used.
Walk Assist Mode
This mode aids in pushing the bike by foot. Activate by pressing and holding the '+' button on the control panel. The CORE DISPLAY LEDs will flash blue. Release the button to exit.
Start of Pedalling
Sit on the saddle and hold the handlebars firmly before placing feet on the pedals. Use caution with high assistance modes (TRAIL, BOOST) as the motor provides immediate thrust. Starting with a lower gear ratio and ECO mode is recommended for control, safety, and energy efficiency, ensuring a longer range. Avoid sudden acceleration or braking.
When walking the bike, ensure the system is disconnected.
Displaying the Battery Charge Level
A full charge can provide up to 190 km range. The battery level is indicated on the display. Garmin devices can also show the battery level.

Battery and Charger
BH batteries use advanced lithium-ion technology. They do not require full discharge before recharging and are not affected by incomplete discharges. For maximum operating range, a full charge is recommended.
Battery Charge Process:
- Turn on the display. Charging will not occur if the display is off.
- Open the charging port cover located at the bottom left of the frame.
- Connect the battery first, then plug into the power socket.
- View the state of charge and errors via the display LEDs (100% Charged, Charging, Standby, Charging Problem).
- Always disconnect the charger first, then unplug from the power socket.
- Close the charging port cover securely.
- The XPRO DD battery charges when in the bottle holder and the bicycle is charging with the display ON.
❗ Handle batteries with care. Avoid dropping them.
❗ Never charge or use a damaged battery. Be cautious of hot chargers. If a fault occurs, unplug and let the battery cool. Never touch plugs or contacts with wet hands. Ensure battery contacts are clean and dry before installation. Do not force connections. Turn off the system before removing the battery.
XPRO Dual Discharge Battery
The Xpro DD is an optional 180 Wh external battery that extends range. It fits a specific bottle holder and connects via a Plug&Ride system, requiring no additional wiring.
XPRO DD Bottle Holder
The bottle cage features a waterproof connector. A conventional water bottle can be mounted, or it can be left empty.
Energy Saving Modes
The battery employs energy-saving modes to ensure longevity:
- Transport Mode: For shipping, the battery is in this mode. Charge to 100% before first use to exit.
- Standby Mode: Activates automatically after 10 minutes of inactivity (no charging, discharging, or communication) to minimize consumption. The control panel may turn off. Exit by turning on the control panel.
- Deep Sleep Mode: For long periods of inactivity or storage, the battery enters Deep Sleep mode based on charge level and standby duration (e.g., below 1% charge after 10 mins standby, below 10% after 48 hours standby, etc.). Exit by pressing the power or multifunction button.
App BH Bikes iConnect-Z
The BH Bikes iConnect app allows customization of the pedal assistance system, including changing assistance level colors and adjusting assistance (0-100%) and acceleration parameters for each level. Download from the App Store or Google Play. Follow app instructions to link your bicycle.

Operation with the Garmin Device
ANT+ connection to a Garmin device enables additional display and control functions. Heart rate straps can also connect via Garmin. Follow these steps to connect:
- Tap "ADD SENSOR".
- Tap "EBIKE".
- Pair with your Garmin device.
- Select the E-BIKE.
- Select the sensor you have created.
- Garmin Connected: View bicycle battery status and select pedal assistance level.

Error Codes
Errors are indicated on the display via LEDs. Below is a description of common errors and required actions:
