Application Diagram
The diagram illustrates the SM-EDPN-8D KVM switch connecting two computers to two monitors and various peripherals. Each computer connects to the KVM via DisplayPort for video (Video In/Out), USB for keyboard and mouse (USB In/USB K/M Out), and audio (Audio In/Audio Out). The KVM switch then outputs the signals to the monitors and peripherals (Video Out, USB 2.0 Out, Audio Out).
Flexible Control
RS-232: Any external device or program supporting RS-232 can control the SM-EDPN-8D. The SM-EDPN-8D uses a very simple protocol, enabling easy integration with RS-232 control devices.
USB/Keyboard: Hot keys enable the user to switch and control all the different functions of the KVM Switch.
Flexible Sharing
Independent Simultaneous Device Selection: Flexibility is key with the SM-EDPN-8D. It enables the use of a USB keyboard and mouse on one computer while other USB peripherals such as speakers, scanners, and printers are connected to other computer sources. The SM-EDPN-8D maintains the ability to switch all connected devices to any one of the computer sources, similar to other KVM Switches in the market.
