Connections and Ports
The dock features a range of ports on the front and back for versatile connectivity:
Front Ports:
- 1 x Thunderbolt™ 4 port (up to 40Gbps, 5V/3A power delivery)
- 1 x USB-C® 3.2 Gen 2 port (up to 10Gbps, 5V/0.9A)
- 1 x SD/Micro SD Card Reader (Supports UHS-II, SD4.0)
- 1 x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port (up to 10Gbps, 5V/0.9A)
Rear Ports:
- 2 x Thunderbolt™ 4 ports (for display or data)
- 2 x DisplayPort 1.4 ports
- 1 x HDMI 2.1 port
- 1 x Gigabit Ethernet port (10/100/1000Mbps)
- 1 x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 port (5Gbps, 5V/0.9A)
- 1 x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 port (5Gbps, 5V/0.9A)

Connecting the Dock
- Connect the power adapter to the dock's DC input port.
- Connect the appropriate power cord for your region to the power adapter.
- Connect the Thunderbolt 4 cable from your computer to one of the Thunderbolt 4 ports on the dock.
Display Configurations
The dock supports various display configurations depending on your host device's capabilities (Thunderbolt™ or USB-C® Alt Mode) and the technology used (Thunderbolt™ or DisplayLink®).
Thunderbolt™ Connectivity:
- Windows Thunderbolt™ Laptop: Supports up to 2 x 4K @ 60Hz displays via Thunderbolt™ ports. Can also support 1 x 8K @ 60Hz + 1 x 4K @ 60Hz.
- MacBook Pro and Max Chipsets (macOS): Supports up to 2 x 6K @ 60Hz displays. For M3 base chipsets, this can be 5K + 6K with the lid closed.
DisplayLink® Connectivity:
- Windows Thunderbolt™ Laptop: Requires DisplayLink® driver installation. Supports up to 2 x 4K @ 60Hz displays.
- Windows USB-C® Alt Mode Laptop: Requires DisplayLink® driver installation. Supports up to 2 x 4K @ 60Hz displays.
- MacBook M series (macOS): Requires DisplayLink® driver installation. Supports up to 1 x 6K @ 60Hz display.
Note on USB-C® Alt Mode and M1/M2 MacBooks: Laptops using USB-C® Alt Mode and MacBooks with M1 and M2 base chipsets may not support dual plug-and-play displays. Connect to at least one DisplayLink® port to achieve dual displays.
Connecting Peripherals
Connect USB devices, keyboards, mice, and other peripherals to the available USB-A and USB-C® ports.
Networking
Connect to your network using the Gigabit Ethernet port for a stable wired connection.
Security
The Kensington SD5920T EQ Thunderbolt 4 Dock is compatible with Kensington security locks (sold separately) to prevent theft. Recommended locks include the Kensington MicroSaver® 2.0 Keyed Lock (K65020WW) and the Kensington Slim NanoSaver® 2.0 Keyed Laptop Lock (K65021WW).
Mounting Options
The dock can be mounted using Kensington docking station mounting solutions (sold separately), such as the Kensington K34050. Ensure the monitor weight does not exceed 13.2 lbs (6.0kg) when using a mount.
