1. Introduction
This document provides a guideline on operating and configuring Castles V3CT3 terminal.
The scope of this document includes setting up the terminal, basic operation, application life cycle, and some advance features.
Regulatory instruction of usage
- Before using the terminal, please check if it has been disassembled, modified, or showed abnormal situation. If yes, please do not use.
- Please stay away from strong electromagnetic waves. (Example: Microwave ovens, magnets, shoplifting prevention devices, high-voltage wires, automatic doors, communication antennas, etc.)
- Condensation can occur when moving from a cold place to a warm place. If condensation occurs, do not use the unit until the water droplets evaporate.
- Static electricity may occur in some places (such as where you use a carpet).
- Please do not leave it in the sun for a long time.
- Please operate the unit carefully as it is a precision instrument. Do not apply impact, drop, or heavy objects on top of the unit.
- Do not attach dust, oil, etc. to any part of the terminal. Also, please do not scratch.
2. Hardware Setup
2.1. Parts of the Terminal
Front View Description:
The front of the terminal features:
- 1. LCD Display (Color TFT): The main screen for user interaction.
- 2. Keypad: Numeric and function keys for input.
- 3. Smart Card Reader: Slot for inserting smart cards.
- 4. Magnetic Stripe Reader: For swiping magnetic stripe cards.
- 5. Contactless Card Landing Zone: Area for contactless payment or data transfer.
- 6. Paper Roll Handle: Lever or mechanism to access the paper roll compartment.
Rear View Description:
The rear of the terminal includes several ports and features:
- 7. Com Port 2: Serial communication port.
- 8. Modem Port: Reserved for engineering usage only.
- 9. USB Port 1 (Type C): Universal Serial Bus port.
- 10. USB Port 2 (Micro USB): Another USB port type.
- 11. Product Label: Contains device information and certifications.
- 12. DC Jack: Power input connector.
- 13. Com Port 1: Another serial communication port.
- 14. Back Cover: Access panel, likely for battery or internal components.
- 15. Micro SD Card Slot: For memory expansion.
- 16. Ethernet Port: For wired network connectivity.
- 17. SAM Card Slots: Slots for Secure Access Module cards.
Left Side View Description:
The left side of the terminal shows its profile.
Right Side View Description:
The right side of the terminal shows its profile.
2.2. Inserting the SAM Card
Step 1: Remove the battery cover / back cover.
Step 2: Insert the SAM card into the desired slot.
- SAM 1 & 2: Ensure the gold contact is on the upper side of the card and facing down into the slot.
Step 3: Reverse the operation of Step 1 to install the cover.
2.3. Inserting the Memory card
Step 1: Remove the battery cover / back cover.
Step 2: Insert the Micro SD memory card.
- Micro SD: Ensure the gold contact is on the lower side of the card and facing down into the slot.
Step 3: Reverse the operation of Step 1 to install the battery cover.
2.4. Inserting the Paper Roll
Step 1: Pull up the paper roll box handle.
Step 2: Gently open the paper roll cover.
Step 3: Insert the paper roll as direction showed.
Paper Specification:
- Width: 57mm
- Outside diameter: 40mm

Radiation Exposure Statement:
This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. This equipment should be installed and operated with a minimum distance of 20cm between the radiator and your body.
Note: The country code selection is for non-US models only and is not available to all US models. Per FCC regulation, all WiFi products marketed in the US must be fixed to US operation channels only.

This device complies with ISED's licence-exempt RSSs. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

- Warning: This product is intended to be supplied by a Listed Power Adapter "L.P.S." (Or "Limited Power Source") and is rated at 9 Vdc, 4.5 A min., Tma = 40 degrees C.
