1) Factory setting. 2) Do not use salt at this level.
Set the correct water hardness level to keep the salt refill indicator active. Multi-tabs with salt are not effective enough for hard water.
Regeneration process: The water softener resin needs regular regeneration for correct operation. This is automatic and part of normal dishwasher operation. A new regeneration process starts between the final rinse and programme end after a prescribed water quantity is used.
Water softener level | Amount of water (l) |
---|---|
1 | 250 |
2 | 100 |
3 | 62 |
4 | 47 |
5 | 25 |
6 | 17 |
7 | 10 |
8 | 5 |
9 | 3 |
10 | 3 |
High water softener settings may trigger regeneration mid-programme. This may prolong the programme by 5 minutes in certain cases. Softener rinsing lasts 5 minutes and may start mid-cycle or at the beginning of the next. This increases water consumption by 4 litres and energy by 2 Wh. Rinsing ends with a complete drain.
ℹ️ Consumption values are determined under standard laboratory conditions with water hardness 2.5mmol/L (softener level 3) according to regulation 2019/2022. Water pressure, temperature, and mains supply variations can affect values.
8.3 The rinse aid empty notification
Rinse aid helps dry dishes without streaks. It's released during the final rinse. The indicator turns on when the rinse aid chamber is empty. You can deactivate the notification if drying results are satisfactory with multi-tablets, but always use rinse aid for best performance. Activate the notification if using standard detergent or multi-tablets without rinse aid.
8.4 End sound
An acoustic signal sounds when the programme is completed. Acoustic signals also sound for malfunctions and cannot be deactivated.
8.5 Dry Assist
Improves drying results by automatically opening the appliance door during the drying phase.
⚠️ CAUTION! If children have access, deactivate Dry Assist as automatic door opening may pose a danger.
Dry Assist is activated with all programmes. Door opening time varies by programme and options. The display shows the remaining programme time when the door opens. ⚠️ CAUTION! Do not close the door within 2 minutes of automatic opening, as this can cause damage.
8.6 Key tones
Buttons make a click sound when pressed. This sound can be deactivated.
8.7 Latest programme selection

10.10 End of the programme
When complete, the display shows 0:00. Auto Off switches the appliance off. All buttons are inactive except the on/off button.
11. Hints and Tips
11.1 General
- Washing dishes in the dishwasher uses less water and energy than washing by hand.
- Load the dishwasher to full capacity to save water and energy. Arrange items as instructed and do not overload for best cleaning.
- Do not pre-rinse dishes by hand; it increases water/energy consumption. Use a programme with a prewash phase if needed.
- Remove large food residues and empty cups/glasses before loading.
- Soak or scour cookware with firmly cooked-on food before washing.
- Ensure items in baskets do not touch or cover each other for complete water access.
11.2 Using salt, rinse aid and detergent
- Use only dishwasher-specific salt, rinse aid, and detergent. Other products can cause damage.
- For hard/very hard water areas, use basic detergent (powder, gel, tablets without additives), rinse aid, and salt separately for optimal results.
- Detergent tablets may not dissolve fully on short programmes. Use tablets with longer programmes to prevent residues.
- Use the correct detergent quantity. Insufficient detergent leads to poor cleaning and spotting. Too much detergent with soft water causes residues. Adjust detergent based on water hardness.
- Use the correct rinse aid quantity. Insufficient rinse aid reduces drying. Too much causes bluish layers.
- Ensure the water softener level is correct. Too high a level with excess salt may cause rust on cutlery.
11.3 What to do if you want to stop using multi-tablets
- Set the water softener to the highest level.
- Ensure salt and rinse aid containers are full.
- Start the 50° programme without detergent or dishes.
