Introduction
This document is the user's manual for the Skytec STC-50 Professional Dual USB/SD Player. It provides information on the product's functions, controls, connections, warranty, and specifications.
IMPORTANT: Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than those specified herein may result in hazardous radiation exposure.
Player Function

POWER BUTTON
Press the power switch to turn the unit on. To switch the POWER off, press the POWER switch again.
JOG & SHUTTLE WHEELS
The control values functions are as follows:
- Speed control: Rotating the wheel in play mode will change the playback speed accordingly. Rotating clockwise increases the player speed; rotating counter-clockwise decreases the speed.
- Searching: Rotating the wheel in pause mode allows the player to move forward or backward to the desired point. The searching speed changes according to the dial speed and can be carried out one frame at a time.
TIME BUTTON
Used to choose the time mode: Elapsed time, remaining time, or total remaining time.
TRACK/FOLDER
Press this control to display the name of the folder currently selected.
IN BUTTON (LOOP SYSTEM)
This button sets the beginning of the loop. The Loop indicator on the display flashes.
CONT./SINGLE BUTTON
Press these buttons to switch between SINGLE and CONTINUOUS play modes. The selected mode is indicated on the LCD. In SINGLE mode, the unit stops after each track. In CONTINUOUS mode, the unit plays all tracks consecutively.
SD CARD SLOT
Slot for inserting SD/MMC cards. The contacts of the card must point downwards. The unit cannot read cards with a capacity of more than 4GB. The unit is not compatible with SDHC cards and only supports the MP3 format.
OUT BUTTON (LOOP BUTTON)
Pressing this button sets the end point of the seamless loop and starts the loop. To finish the loop, press this button again.
TRACK SELECT BUTTONS
Press the button to switch the function of the jog dial between SEARCH, PITCH BEND, and SCRATCH modes. When the indicator LED is off, the jog dial controls pitch bend. If the jog dial is not moved for 8 seconds, the indicator turns off, and the jog dial is set for pitch bend function. When the indicator LED is lit, rotating the jog wheel enters scratch mode. When the indicator LED is flashing, the jog dial performs a quick search forward and backward.
RELOOP BUTTON (LOOP SYSTEM)
This button is used to start the last saved loop. To finish the loop, press the reloop button.
PITCH BEND - BUTTON
The pitch will drop while the '-' button is pressed and return to the original pitch when it is released.
CUE BUTTON
Pressing the CUE button during playback provides a return to the position at which playback was started.
PITCH BUTTON
Pressing this button allows adjustment of the pitch potentiometer.
PLAY/PAUSE BUTTON
Each time the PLAY/PAUSE button is pressed, the operation changes from play to pause or from pause to play.
PITCH CONTROL
Use this fader to increase or decrease the speed of the track.
DISPLAY
LCD Display indicates the Track/Numbers/Time/Remain/Pitch/Continue/Single status.
PITCH BEND + BUTTON
The pitch will automatically rise when the '+' button is pressed and return to the original pitch when it is released.
USB PORT
Allows the connection of any USB memory stick.
USB/SD
Selector switch for choosing USB or SD storage media in pause or cue mode. The LCD will verify which storage media is active.
DSP/REVERSE
Push the reverse button to play your track in reverse. Push the reverse button again to cancel this feature.
DSP/BRAKE
In play mode, push the brake button first, then push the play/pause button. The operation changes from play to a slow pause. Push the play/pause button again to cancel this feature.
Connections

LINE OUT
The audio for each SD player is output from these jacks. Connect to the line input of the mixer.
AC CORD
Use this cable to connect the power cord unit to an AC wall outlet with the proper AC voltage.
Warranty Conditions
Skytec equipment is covered by a 1-year warranty on parts and labour, except for faders (90 days). The following rules apply from the day the equipment leaves the factory:
- The date on the invoice is considered the start of the warranty period.
- Only companies approved by Skytec are authorized to work on the equipment. Warranty becomes void if other service technicians open the equipment.
- During the warranty period, defective equipment must be sent by pre-paid mail in the original box.
- Skytec will return the goods by pre-paid mail during the first year of warranty; thereafter, the mailing cost is to be paid by the recipient.
- Potentiometers have a limited lifetime and are not covered by the manufacturer for more than normal use.
