CAUTIONS

  • This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules and RSS 210 of Industry & Science Canada. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
  • Only operate the device in accordance with the instructions supplied. This device complies with FCC and IC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. In order to avoid the possibility of exceeding the FCC and IC radio frequency exposure limits, human proximity to the antenna shall not be less than 20cm (8 inches) during normal operation.
  • Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.

1. Declaration of Conformity

Hereby, Carrier declares that this AC is in compliance with the essential requirements and other relevant provisions of Directive 1999/5/EC. The declaration of conformity may be consulted with a sales agent.

3. Precautions

  • Applicable system: iOS, Android. (Suggest: iOS 7.0 or later, Android 4.0 or later)
  • Please check the service website for more applicable devices.
  • Disclaimer: Due to the special situation existed during App use, we explicitly claim as follows: Not all Android and iOS systems are compatible with the APP. Carrier will not be responsible for any issue as a result of incompatibility.
  • SMART KIT wireless safety strategy: Smart kit only supports WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK encryption and none encryption. WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK encryption is recommended.
  • Smart Phone camera needs to be 5 million pixels or above to ensure QR code scanning works well.
  • Due to different network situations, request time-outs may occur, necessitating network configuration again.
  • Due to different network situations, control process may return time out. If this situation occurs, do not be confused; the display on the board and APP may not be the same.

4. Installation

4.1 Internet Work

Wi-Fi router, smart mobile, and smart air conditioner are needed for this function.

4.2 Smart Kit Installation

  1. Remove the protective cap of the smart kit.
  2. Open the front panel and insert the smart kit into the Wi-Fi adapter.
  3. Attach the QR code packed with the SMART KIT to the side panel of the machine, ensuring it is convenient to be scanned by the mobile phone.

4.3 APP Installation

  • iPhone: Scan the QR Code or go to the App Store and search for the 'Carrier air conditioner' app and download it.
  • Android system: Scan the QR Code or go to Google Play, search for the 'Carrier air conditioner' app and download it.

5. Configuration

5.1 User Registration on APP

Please ensure the mobile device is connected to a Wi-Fi router, and the router is already connected to the internet before registration and network configuration.

CAUTION:

  • It is advisable to log into your email box and activate the registration account by clicking the link to avoid forgetting the password.
  • Make sure the mobile device is connected to the Wi-Fi network.
  • Ensure the mobile Wi-Fi function works well and can connect to the Wi-Fi network automatically.
  • If the smart kit fails to connect to the router, please confirm the router's encryption setting is WPA

Step 1: Create Account

Click "Create Account".

Step 2: Enter Details and Register

Enter an available email address and create a password, then click "Registration".

Note: The password is only for this APP, not for the email system.

5.2 Set Air Conditioner into AP Mode

  1. Turn on the air conditioner. Press the ‘LED’ button on the remote controller 7 times continuously.
  2. When the display shows ‘AP’ and flashes, it means the smart kit has entered the Wi-Fi network setting mode.

Kindly reminder:

  • When the air conditioner is in Wi-Fi network setting mode, the remote controller cannot control the AC until the Wi-Fi network setting is finished.
  • If there is no setting operation under Wi-Fi network setting mode, the air conditioner will automatically quit this mode after 8 minutes. The user can then control the AC with the remote controller normally.

5.3 Add Device to the Account

Note: The configuration process differs for Android and iOS systems. First, open the APP and sign in with your registered account and password. If you are using an Android system, follow the process below. If you are using an iPhone, go to page 8 and follow that process.

5.3.1 Network Configuration for Android System Mobile

Step 1

Press "+ Add Device".

Select the Wi-Fi network (e.g., "Net_ac_xxxx") and click OK.

Select your Wi-Fi network (e.g., "My Home"), then enter the Wi-Fi password and click OK.

Configuration Success. The device can now be seen on the list.

5.3.2 Network Configuration for iPhone

Step 1

Press "+ Add Device".

Read the instructions above and press the "Home" button to return to the iPhone main interface.

Click mobile settings to enter the setting page, then select WLAN setting.

Choose the network (e.g., "net_ac_0010").

Type the default password: 12345678 and click "Join".

Return to the APP and click "Next".

6. App Operation

NOTE: When network configuration is finished, the APP will display success messages. Due to different Internet environments, the device status might still show "offline" and may not be accessible. If this occurs, pull down the device list to refresh the status to "online". If it does not work, turn the AC off and then on again.

6.1 Sign In

Please ensure both the mobile device and the air conditioner are connected to the Internet before using the app to control the air conditioner. Follow these steps:

Step 1

Enter your user account and password, then click "Sign in".

Select the target air conditioner to enter the main control interface.

6.2 Main Interface and Functions

Step 3

Touch the Carrier logo in the center to turn on the air conditioner.

Now, the air conditioner is available to be controlled by the APP.

NOTE: Not all functions of the APP are available for every air conditioner. For example, ECO mode is only available for inverter models, and vertical louver swing is only available for models with a vertical swing motor.

Function Descriptions:

  • ON/OFF: Press this button to turn on or turn off the unit.
  • Mode selection: Press this button to change the running mode (COOL, HEAT, DRY, FAN, AUTO).
  • Fan speed selection: Press this button to change the fan speed (High fan: 3 layer aura, Med fan: 2 layer aura, Low fan: 1 layer aura).
  • Turbo: Press this button to activate turbo mode (Only available for cool running).
  • Vertical louvers swing: Press this button to activate the vertical louvers swing.
  • Horizontal louvers swing: Press this button to activate the horizontal louvers swing.
  • ECO: Press this button to activate ECO mode.
  • Celsius / Fahrenheit: Press this button to change the temperature unit shown on the AC display.
  • Setting temperature: Touch the screen near the temperature display, then slide up or down to change the temperature. Do not loosen your finger until the number reaches the target.

6.3 Special Functions

Includes: Timer on, Timer off, 8°C Heat, Sleep, Check.

NOTE: The smart kit will check the software program in the air conditioner control parts and only show the available functions on the APP.

6.3.1 Timer on / Timer off

Weekly, users can schedule appointments to turn the AC on or off at specific times. Users can choose to repeat the schedule to keep the AC under schedule control every week.

Step 1

Choose "Timer on" or "Timer off".

Choose the setting time to turn on or turn off the air conditioner.

Choose the date, then confirm with "OK".

6.3.2 Sleep Function

This function customizes comfortable sleep by setting the target temperature.

Choose "Edit", "Young", "Elder", or "Children" mode. In "Edit" mode, users can choose the setting temperature within 8 hours. Finally, confirm with "OK".

6.3.3 Check Function

This function allows users to check the AC's running status. After completion, it displays normal items, abnormal items, and detailed information.

Step 1

Choose the "Check" function.

Finish check.

Press "Done". The APP will show the details.

6.3.4 8°C Heat Function

In this mode, the air conditioner will run at 8°C Heat. When people go outside, this function can protect the furniture from frost damage.

6.4 Change Device Information

Users can modify their information and nominate names for the devices.

6.4.1 Modify User Information

Step 1

Press the picture (profile photo area).

Choose the information that needs to be changed, then press "Save".

6.4.2 Nominate the Device

Step 1

Press the setting logo (gear icon) associated with the device.
