Installation Preparation

It is important that all areas where the bed cover mounts are clean and free of debris prior to installing.

Tools Recommended:

Step 1: Bulkhead Seal Installation

If a bulkhead seal (D) is included with the cover, clean the top of the bulkhead. Peel the backing and adhere the seal from one bedrail edge to the other. Remove any excess with scissors or a utility knife. If the truck has a drop-in bedliner, no seal will be needed.

NOTE: Position bulkhead seal (D) flush with the inside edge of the bulkhead.

Step 2: Corner Seal Installation

Remove cab corner seals (E) from the adhesive backing. Place onto both cab end corner plugs on the driver and passenger side rails (A & B).

Step 3: Cover Assembly Placement

Place the cover assembly (C) on the truck's bulkhead near the cab. The cover assembly should be oriented as shown and be parallel with the bulkhead.

Illustration shows cover assembly being placed against the truck's bulkhead.

Step 4: Side Rail Installation

Place the side rails (A & B) onto the truck bed rails, while inserting the side rail corner plugs into the front header, as shown below.

NOTE: Insert side rail into the red shaded area of header guide.

Step 5: Clamp Placement

Evenly space 3 clamps (G) along the driver side rail (A). Ideally, the front clamp should be positioned as far forward as possible. The rear clamp should be positioned as far rearward as possible. Finger tighten only. Repeat on the passenger side rail (B).

Step 6: Cover Alignment and Front Header Seal

Evenly position the cover assembly (C) and rails (A & B) squarely over the truck bed opening. Align front header seal with the inside face of the bulkhead.

Step 7: Tighten Tailgate Clamps

Tighten the TAILGATE clamps (G). Align the grooves of the clamp with the grooves in the side rail. Do this on both driver and passenger side rails (A & B).

Tighten to 9 Nm, 7 ft lb.

Step 8: Tighten Center Clamps

Tighten the CENTER clamps (G). Roll the cover back past the center bow. Slide the clamps toward the tailgate side of the bow. The clamps cannot be directly under the center bow. Do this on both driver and passenger side rails (A & B).

Tighten to 9 Nm, 7 ft lb.

Step 9: Tighten Cab Clamps

Tighten the CAB clamps (G). Make sure the clamps are positioned as far forward as possible. Do this on both driver and passenger side rails (A & B).

Step 10: Final Cover Roll and Tailgate Seals

Unroll the cover assembly (C) towards the tailgate. Check that the side rails are centered on the truck bed. Note that the spacing between the tailgate header and the side rails is 1/8" or 3.2 mm per side.

Illustration shows checking side rail centering and spacing.

Fold back the cover (C) at the tailgate, remove the adhesive backing and install tailgate corner seals (F), as shown below.

Step 11: Secure Tailgate Header

With the tailgate open and the cover unrolled, hook the tailgate header into the header stops on both sides of the truck. Push the tailgate header down until the latches on both sides engage with the tailgate header. A clicking sound will indicate a secure attachment.

NOTE: BOTH LATCHES MUST BE FULLY ENGAGED!

Illustration shows hooking the tailgate header into the header stops.

Step 12: Engage Latches

Make sure the cover (C) latches on both sides of the truck. The latches will provide an audible click.

Step 13: Secure Hook and Loop Fasteners

Once the cover is closed, grab the fabric flap and evenly pull it over the hook track engaging the loop to the hook.

With both sides of the hook and loop engaged, use the palms of your hand to firmly push the loop strip into the hook track. Do this to both driver and passenger sides. You are ready to drive with the cover in the closed position.

HOOK AND LOOP MUST ALWAYS BE ADJUSTED AFTER ROLLING COVER CLOSED!

Pre-Set Tension Control

There is no need to adjust cover tension. The latch assembly is already factory set to the correct tension amount. Any modification done to the latch will void the warranty.

To keep the cover taut, periodically check the hook and loop and re-stretch the cover fabric across the bed.

Periodically clean the hook and loop and latch with high-pressure water to remove dirt and dust for continued ease of operation.

NOTE: The cover may appear looser or relaxed in cool and cold conditions and tighter in warm and hot conditions.

Troubleshooting Tips

Wrinkles on the Vinyl Fabric After Rolling Cover Closed

Wind Lifts Up the Edge of the Vinyl Fabric

Vinyl Fabric Flutters Excessively When Driving

Snow and Ice Accumulation on the Vinyl Fabric

Tonneau Cover Will Not Latch

Vinyl Fabric Has Shifted Too Far to One Side

Cover Care and Maintenance

Clean with mild automotive soap and water or TruXedo Pro-Tex. A soft bristle brush may be used. Do not use vinyl conditioners (i.e. Armor All®) because they will shrink the vinyl. The cover can be cleaned in a car wash.

FAQ

Why is my cover holding water after it rains?

Water pooling on the cover is normal because our cross bows are not arched. Since they are designed to sit flat some water may accumulate on the top of the cover. Once you drive your truck, the water will shed from the cover. Make sure to retighten the hook and loop fasteners along the length of the bed.
