Setting the TIMER
TIMER ON/OFF: Set the amount of time after which the unit will automatically turn on/off.
TIMER ON setting
Press the TIMER button to initiate the ON time sequence. Press the TEMP [up arrow] or [down arrow] button multiple times to set the desired time to turn on the unit. Point the remote to the unit and wait 1 second; the TIMER ON will be activated.
TIMER OFF setting
Press the TIMER button to initiate the OFF time sequence. Press the TEMP [up arrow] or [down arrow] button multiple times to set the desired time to turn off the unit. Point the remote to the unit and wait 1 second; the TIMER OFF will be activated.
NOTE:
- When setting TIMER ON or TIMER OFF, the time increases by 30-minute increments up to 10 hours. After 10 hours, it increases in 1-hour increments up to 24 hours. The timer reverts to 0.0 hours after 24.
- Cancel either function by setting its timer to 0.0 hours.
TIMER ON & OFF setting (example)
The time periods set refer to hours after the current time.
Example: If the current time is 1:00 PM, setting the timer as described will turn the unit on 2.5 hours later (at 3:30 PM) and turn it off 5 hours later (at 6:00 PM).
How to Use Advanced Functions
Vane function
Press the VANE button when the unit is turned on. This activates the louver setting feature. Each press cycles through selected louvers: -1 → -2 → -3 → -4 → -0 (where -0 indicates all four louvers are selected). The system exits louver setting mode after 10 seconds of inactivity.
Press the SWING button to start/stop the auto swing feature of the selected louvers.
Swing function
Press the SWING button. The horizontal louver auto swing feature is energized. Press again to stop it.
FP function
Press this button twice within one second under HEAT Mode with the temperature set to 16°C. The unit will operate at high fan speed (while the compressor is on) with the temperature automatically set to 8°C. This function is for heat pump air conditioners only. Pressing ON/OFF, Sleep, Mode, Fan, or Temp. buttons during operation will cancel this function.
ECO/GEAR function
Press this button to enter energy-efficient modes: ECO → GEAR (75%) → GEAR (50%) → Previous setting mode → ECO...
ECO operation:
Under cooling mode, pressing this button adjusts the temperature to 24°C and sets the fan speed to Auto to save energy (if the set temperature is less than 24°C). If the set temperature is above 24°C, the fan speed changes to Auto, and the set temperature remains unchanged.
NOTE: Pressing this button, modifying the mode, or adjusting the set temperature to less than 24°C / 75°F will stop ECO operation. For optimal cooling, the set temperature should be 24°C or above. If uncomfortable, press the ECO button again to stop it.
GEAR operation:
Press this button to enter GEAR operation: 75% (up to 75% electrical energy consumption) → 50% (up to 50% electrical energy consumption) → Previous setting mode. Under GEAR operation, the display alternates between electrical energy consumption and set temperature.
Silence function
Keep pressing the FAN button for more than 2 seconds to activate/disable the Silence function. Due to low-frequency compressor operation, this may result in insufficient cooling and heating capacity. Pressing ON/OFF, Mode, Sleep, Boost, or Clean buttons during operation will cancel the silence function.
LOCK function
Press the BOOST and VANE buttons simultaneously for more than 5 seconds to activate Lock function. All buttons will be unresponsive except for these two buttons, which can be pressed again for two seconds to disable locking.
SET function
Press the SET button to enter function setting. Then, press the SET button or TEMP [up arrow]/[down arrow] button to select the desired function. The selected symbol flashes on the display; press OK to confirm.
To cancel a selected function, repeat the same procedures. Press the SET button to scroll through operation functions: Active clean [icon] → Fresh* [icon] → Sleep [icon] → Follow Me [icon] → AP mode* [icon] → Active clean... [*]: Model dependent.
Active clean function [icon] (some units)
The Active Clean Technology washes away dust, mold, and grease that cause odors by automatically freezing and thawing frost on the heat exchanger. When this function is on, the indoor unit displays "CL". After 20 to 45 minutes, the unit turns off automatically and cancels the CLEAN function.
Sleep function [icon]
The SLEEP function reduces energy use during sleep when different temperature settings are needed. This function can only be activated via the remote control. For details, see sleep operation in the "USER'S MANUAL". Note: The SLEEP function is not available in FAN or DRY mode.
FRESH function [icon] (some units)
When the FRESH function is initiated, the ion generator energizes to help purify the air in the room.
Follow me function [icon]
The FOLLOW ME function allows the remote control to measure the ambient temperature at its location and send this signal to the air conditioner every 3 minutes. When using AUTO, COOL, or HEAT modes, measuring ambient temperature from the remote control (instead of the indoor unit) optimizes temperature for maximum comfort.
NOTE:
- Press and hold the BOOST button for seven seconds to start/stop the memory feature of the Follow Me function.
- If the memory feature is activated, "On" displays for 3 seconds.
- If the memory feature is stopped, "OF" displays for 3 seconds.
- While the memory feature is activated, pressing ON/OFF, shifting mode, or a power failure will not cancel the Follow Me function.
AP function [icon] (some units)
Choose AP mode for wireless network configuration. For some units, this may not work by pressing the SET button. To enter AP mode, continuously press the LED button seven times within 10 seconds.
