Situations Encountered During Installation and How to Deal With Them
Problem 1: Cartridge Prompts
Issue: The machine prompts 'used original cartridge/non-HP cartridge/empty cartridge/insufficient cartridge', or other similar messages.
Solution: Click on the 'Continue' or 'OK' button on the printer or computer. Printer manufacturers often include protections for original cartridges, which may trigger these prompts. Clicking 'Continue' usually allows normal use.
Problem 2: No Print After Installation
Issue: After installing the ink cartridge, the print document does not appear.
Solutions:
- Confirm that the blue tape (transparent tape protecting the nozzle) has been torn off.
- Gently wipe the nozzle on a paper towel to check for ink. If no ink appears, you can soak the nozzle in warm water (around 60 degrees Celsius) for 10-30 seconds. Ensure the water level covers the nozzle but does not submerge the chip (copper-colored contacts). If ink still does not dispense, contact customer service.
Problem 3: Cartridge Failure or Problems
Issue: The machine prompts 'cartridge failure / cartridge problems / ink cartridge problems', or other related issues.
Solution: This problem is often caused by the cartridge chip not being identified. First, try restarting the printer. If the issue persists, use an eraser or alcohol to gently wipe the chip (copper contacts) on the cartridge and test again. If there is still no improvement, contact the manufacturer for testing or replacement.
Ink Cartridge Refilling Diagram
Caveats:
- Do not wait until all the ink is used up before refilling, as this can easily damage the ink cartridge.
- Recommended ink injection amounts: Black ink into the 3-5ML range; Color ink into the 2-3ML range. Insert the needle into the cartridge approximately 1CM deep.
- Refilling is done at the user's discretion and may not be covered by warranty or sales scope.
Ink Refilling Steps
-
Remove the printer's label to expose the ink hole.
-
Plug into the ink cartridge holes. For color cartridges, use holes 2 (solid) and 3 (hollow). For black cartridges, use holes 4 (solid) and 1 (hollow).
-
Before inserting the ink, use a toothpick to test the ink color to prevent mixing of colors.
-
Inject ink into the corresponding ink cartridge hole.
Solution for Adding Ink But Not Producing Ink
If ink is added to the cartridges but the print output is not appearing, it is likely due to internal bubbles in the ink cartridge. A suction clip can be used to remove these bubbles and discharge the internal air.
Using the Suction Clip Set
-
Insert the green silicone gel into the ink absorbing clip.
-
Place the ink cartridge into the ink-sucking clip and snap it into place.
-
Insert the syringe from the bottom of the clip and draw out the ink, which will also draw out air bubbles.
Precautions for Use of Ink Cartridges
Cartridge 'Disable Protection' Setting
If your printer has the 'cartridge protection' feature enabled, newly installed cartridges will be protected and can only be used with that specific printer. They cannot be used in any other printer. It is recommended to set up this 'disable protection' option before installing cartridges.
HP Cartridge Protection: This feature allows printer owners to configure HP cartridges so they are exclusively usable with that printer. If an attempt is made to use a protected cartridge in another printer, it will be blocked with a message indicating its intended use for the original printer. (Further details available via a link, not included here).
- Enable HP Cartridge Protection: All current and future installed HP cartridges will be permanently protected and usable only with this printer.
- Disable HP Cartridge Protection: Future cartridges will not be protected. However, previously protected cartridges will retain their protection status.
Remember to click 'Save Settings' (保存设置) to apply your choices.
Cartridge Chip Protection
The ink cartridges feature an intelligent chip. Please do not tear it off. If the chip shows signs of peeling or warping, contact customer service for assistance. Accidentally tearing the chip will prevent the printer from identifying the cartridge, and the merchant will be unable to provide after-sales service.
Emphasis: PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THIS CHIP.
