Product Performance Details

The fixture features a motion sensor that detects movement and activates the light. The integrated solar panel charges the battery during the day, providing power for the light at night or when motion is detected.

Diagram: Shows the fixture mounted to a wall, with the solar panel positioned above it, connected by a wire.

Installation Steps

Before Installation

Step 1: Check Junction Box

Diagram: Shows a standard electrical junction box on a wall. Text indicates to ensure the box is suitable for mounting the fixture and that power is off.

Ensure the junction box is securely mounted and suitable for supporting the weight of the fixture. Verify that the power supply to the junction box is turned off at the breaker or fuse box.

Step 2: Prepare Wiring

Diagram: Shows the junction box with wires exposed. Text indicates to connect the fixture wires to the house wires using wire nuts.

Identify the house wiring (typically black for hot, white for neutral, and green or bare copper for ground). Strip approximately 1/2 inch of insulation from the ends of the fixture wires and the house wires.

Step 3: Connect Fixture to Junction Box

Diagram: Shows the mounting bracket being attached to the junction box.

Attach the mounting bracket to the junction box using the provided screws.

Step 4: Mount the Fixture

Diagram: Shows the fixture being attached to the mounting bracket.

Feed the house wires through the opening in the fixture base. Align the fixture with the mounting bracket and secure it using the provided screws.

Installation

Step 1: Connect Wires

Diagram: Illustrates connecting wires using wire nuts. Shows black-to-black, white-to-white, and ground-to-ground connections.

Connect the fixture's black wire to the house's black wire using a wire nut. Connect the fixture's white wire to the house's white wire using a wire nut. Connect the fixture's ground wire (green or bare) to the house's ground wire using a wire nut or by attaching it to the grounding screw on the mounting bracket.

Step 2: Secure Fixture to Bracket

Diagram: Shows the fixture being attached to the mounting bracket, possibly with screws.

Carefully tuck the wires into the junction box. Align the fixture with the mounting bracket and secure it using the provided screws.

Step 3: Mount Solar Panel (if separate)

Diagram: Shows a separate solar panel being mounted, likely on a roof or wall, with a wire connecting it to the fixture.

Mount the solar panel in a location that receives direct sunlight. Connect the solar panel's wire to the corresponding connector on the fixture.

Step 4A: Adjust Motion Sensor Sensitivity

Diagram: Shows a dial or switch on the fixture for adjusting motion sensitivity.

Adjust the sensitivity of the motion sensor to detect movement within the desired range. Refer to the fixture's controls for specific adjustment methods.

Step 4B: Adjust Dusk-to-Dawn Sensor

Diagram: Shows a dial or switch for adjusting the light sensitivity for dusk-to-dawn operation.

Adjust the light sensor to ensure the fixture operates correctly during dusk and dawn. This setting determines when the light turns on and off based on ambient light levels.

Step 5: Final Mounting and Positioning

Diagram: Shows the fixture being fully mounted and the heads being positioned.

Ensure the fixture is securely mounted. Position the adjustable light heads to direct illumination as needed.

Step 6: Secure Fixture to Mounting Plate

Diagram: Shows the fixture being attached to a mounting plate on the wall.

Attach the fixture to the wall-mounted plate using the provided screws.

Step 7: Final Wiring and Securing

Diagram: Shows final wire connections and securing the fixture cover.

Complete any remaining wire connections and secure the fixture's cover or housing.

Step 8: Adjust Fixture Heads

Diagram: Shows adjustable light heads being positioned.

Adjust the angle and direction of the floodlight heads to cover the desired area.

Step 9: Test Operation

Diagram: Shows a hand waving in front of the sensor to test motion detection.

Turn the power back on at the breaker or fuse box. Test the motion sensor by walking in front of the fixture. Verify that the light activates and deactivates as expected.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Light does not turn on No power to fixture. Check circuit breaker or fuse. Ensure wires are connected correctly.
Solar panel not charging. Ensure solar panel is clean and receives direct sunlight. Check connection to fixture.
Motion sensor not detecting movement Sensitivity set too low. Adjust motion sensor sensitivity to a higher setting.
Obstruction in sensor path. Ensure the sensor is not blocked by any objects.
Light stays on continuously Motion sensor stuck in 'on' state. Reset the fixture by turning power off and on. Check for continuous motion.
Dusk-to-dawn sensor malfunction. Ensure the sensor is clean and not exposed to artificial light sources that could trick it.
