ENERMAX EMK3201 2.5-inch SATA Hard Drive Enclosure User Manual
This manual provides instructions for installing and using the ENERMAX EMK3201, a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive enclosure, including hot-swap capabilities.
Basic Usage and Installation
Step 1: Prepare the Hard Drive
Attach the included mylar film to the hard drive as shown [diagram]. This film serves as insulation.
Step 2: Open the Enclosure Door
Pull the spring lock mechanism to open the front door of the EMK3201 enclosure [diagram].
Step 3: Install the Hard Drive
Place the 2.5-inch HDD into the EMK3201. Ensure the hard drive's printed label is facing upwards [diagram].
Step 4: Secure the Enclosure Door
Close the front door by pressing it until it locks into place, securing the hard drive [diagram].
Unloading the Hard Drive
Step 1: Prepare for Removal
Gently pull the spring lock to open the front door. Make sure the key lock is in the unlocked position to avoid damaging the lock mechanism.
Step 2: Remove the Hard Drive
Carefully take the hard drive out of the EMK3201 enclosure.
Important Notes
- To utilize the hot-swap function, your host computer system must also support hot-swap.
- Avoid operating the device in environments with high temperatures or high humidity.
- ENERMAX is not responsible for compensation or repair if the device or the hard drive is damaged due to improper operation.

Installation into PC Case
Step 1: Prepare Drive Bay
Remove the cover from an empty 3.5-inch drive bay in your computer case [diagram].
Step 2: Insert Enclosure
Insert the EMK3201 into the prepared drive bay. Align the screw holes on the enclosure with the mounting points in the bay [diagram].
Step 3: Secure Enclosure
Use two screws on each side to securely fasten the EMK3201 to the computer case [diagram].
Note: The included dedicated cable enables the HDD access LED to function even with SATA HDDs that do not output access signals through their power connector.
