Badger Meter Recordall® Industrial Meters

Nutating Disc Meter, Bronze and Thermoplastic

DESCRIPTION

The Badger Meter Recordall (RCDL) positive displacement meters are among the most cost-effective methods for metering industrial fluids. The RCDL meter features a simple, efficient design that provides high accuracy and repeatability across its entire flow range. Available in five sizes, from 1/2 to 2 inches, these meters are suitable for flows up to 170 gpm. They are exceptionally rugged and reliable, requiring minimal maintenance that can typically be performed in a few minutes. All components are designed and manufactured using materials that meet specific application requirements, ensuring an enduring and trouble-free, precision flow meter.

To complement the RCDL meter line, Badger Meter offers a comprehensive range of accessories, including totalizers, electromechanical and electronic transmitters, rate-of-flow indicators, and batch/process controllers.

OPERATION

The metering principle employed is positive displacement, which relies on the continuous filling and discharging of the measuring chamber. Precise measurement of each volume cycle is achieved through controlled clearances between the disc and the chamber. As the disc nutates (wobbles), the center spindle rotates a magnet. This magnet's movement is detected through the meter wall by a follower magnet or various sensors. Each rotation of the magnet corresponds to a fixed volume of fluid, which is then converted into any engineering unit of measure for totalization, indication, or process control.

Diagram Description: Liquid entering the meter chamber (A) causes the disc (B) to nutate or wobble. This motion rotates a spindle (C) connected to a drive magnet (D). The rotation is transmitted through the meter wall to a second magnet (E) or a sensor pickup.

LEAD-FREE MODELS AVAILABLE

The Recordall Disc Series meters meet or exceed the latest revision of AWWA Standard C700 and are available with a lead-free bronze alloy. These meters comply with the lead-free provisions of the Safe Drinking Water Act and are certified to NSF/ANSI Standards 61 and 372, carrying the NSF-61 mark on the housing. All components of the lead-free bronze alloy meter, including the housing, measuring element, and seals, are part of the certified system.

Mechanical Register non-Resettable, Model RCDL

DESCRIPTION

The Recordall® (RCDL) non-resettable mechanical register is a basic totalizer designed for inventory and process control where totalization is the sole functional requirement.

OPERATION

The RCDL register is available for both RCDL disc meters and Industrial Turbo meters. The standard RCDL register for RCDL disc meters is intended for liquids up to 120° F and is offered in various units of measure. For Industrial Turbo meters, the register is designed for liquids up to 250° F. Higher temperature units are available in U.S. gallons for both meter types, in liters for disc meters, and in cubic meters for Industrial Turbo meters. If a higher temperature register is selected for use with an RCDL disc meter, the appropriate higher temperature rated disc meter option must be used.

Diagram Description: Two dial faces are shown. The left dial is for a Model 25 nutating disc meter with a standard dial face in U.S. gallons, displaying '0000000'. The right dial is for a 2" Industrial Turbo meter with a dial face in U.S. gallons, also displaying '0000000'.

Diagram Description: Two schematic drawings show meter configurations. The left shows an 'RCDL (Register) shown on Turbo meter'. The right shows an 'RCDL (Register) shown on Disc meter'.
