SAFETY DEFINITIONS: DANGER, WARNING, CAUTION, and NOTICE are used to highlight important safety information.

SAFETY SYMBOLS:

DANGER: Generator exhaust contains high levels of carbon monoxide (CO), an invisible, odorless, and extremely poisonous gas. NEVER operate generators indoors. Doing so CAN KILL YOU IN MINUTES. Only operate generators outside, in a well-ventilated area, and direct exhaust away from occupied spaces. Install battery-powered carbon monoxide detectors in living areas.

DANGER: Fire and electrocution hazard. DO NOT connect to a building's electrical system unless properly installed with a transfer switch by a qualified electrician. Failure to do so can cause property damage and kill or injure utility workers.

DANGER: Electrocution hazard. NEVER use the generator in wet or damp locations. Protect from rain, snow, water spray, or standing water.

WARNING: Become familiar with all instructions, warnings, illustrations, and specifications. Failure to follow instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or carbon monoxide poisoning.

GROUNDING:

DISCONNECTING THE BONDED NEUTRAL: This should only be done under specific circumstances and requires consulting a qualified electrician. It involves removing a green/yellow bonded jumper wire.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR GASOLINE AND GASOLINE VAPOR:

LIQUID PETROLEUM GAS (LPG/PROPANE):

LEAK TESTING: Brush connections with a soapy solution. If bubbles form, there is a leak. Contact customer service if leaks persist.

UNDERSTANDING THE GENERATOR:

Assembly

WARNING: Always have assistance when lifting the generator due to its weight. Use proper lifting techniques.

REMOVING CARTON CONTENTS:

INCLUDED LIST: Generator, Wheels, Axles, Washers, Hitch Pins, Bolts, Stabilizers, Key Fob, Charger, Propane Gas Hose, Engine Oil (SAE 10W 30), Funnel, Spark Plug Socket Wrench, Quick Start Guide, User Manual.

If parts are missing, contact customer service.

INSTALLING THE STABILIZERS:

  1. Place the generator on a flat surface.
  2. Lift the handle side of the generator to access the frame's crossbar.
  3. Support the generator temporarily.
  4. Align stabilizer holes with frame nuts.
  5. Insert bolts and tighten securely.
  6. Repeat for the second stabilizer.

INSTALLING THE WHEELS:

  1. Place the generator on a flat surface.
  2. Lift the muffler side of the generator to access the frame.
  3. Support the generator temporarily.
  4. Insert axles through wheels, washers, and frame.
  5. Secure axles with hitch pins.

CONNECTING THE BATTERY:

OVERVIEW: This portable generator powers household appliances, job-site tools, camping equipment, and more.

NOTICE: Do not attempt to start the engine before it has been properly serviced with oil. Failure to add oil will result in serious engine damage not covered by warranty.

Operation

DANGER: Generator exhaust contains carbon monoxide (CO), a poisonous gas. NEVER operate indoors. Operate only outdoors in well-ventilated areas, directing exhaust away from occupied spaces. Install CO detectors.

WARNING: Do not alter or modify the product. Use only recommended attachments.

NOTICE: Consult a qualified electrician for grounding requirements if necessary.

WARNING: Avoid skin contact with engine oil or gasoline. Wash exposed skin.

NOTICE: Inspect the product's physical condition before each use.

NOTICE: Ensure wheels and stabilizers are properly installed before adding fuel or oil.

KNOW HOW TO SAFELY LOCATE AND OPERATE THE GENERATOR:

KNOW THE REGULATIONS FOR THE USE OF PORTABLE GENERATORS: Familiarize yourself with local ordinances. Contact a qualified electrician or governing agency if needed.

ADDING OIL/INSPECTING OIL LEVEL:

GASOLINE REQUIREMENTS:

USING FUEL STABILIZER: Add fuel stabilizer to prolong fuel life and prevent clogs. Follow manufacturer's instructions.

CONNECTING AN LP GAS CYLINDER TO THE GENERATOR:

SELECTING THE FUEL SOURCE:

DATA CENTER: Displays voltage, frequency, lifetime hours, and run/maintenance timer. Use the mode button to cycle displays. Maintenance codes indicate required service.

PAIRING THE KEY FOB:

  1. Bring key fob near generator.
  2. Ensure battery is connected and fuel selector is OFF.
  3. Turn battery switch ON.
  4. Press and hold engine START/STOP button for 10 seconds until LED flashes green, then release.
  5. Press and hold start button on key fob for 1 second, then release.
  6. Successful pairing: LED turns solid green. Unsuccessful: LED continues flashing; try again.
  7. Turn battery switch OFF after successful pairing.

BREAK-IN PERIOD:

STARTING THE GENERATOR:

ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION OPERATIONS: The EFI system runs a self-test on startup. If the EFI System Fault Status LED blinks, discontinue use and have the generator inspected.

STOPPING THE GENERATOR:

CIRCUIT BREAKERS: If a circuit breaker trips, turn off connected devices, remove them, and reset the breaker.

TRANSPORTING:

WARNING: Disconnect the spark plug boot before performing maintenance.

WARNING: Replace damaged or worn items with recommended parts.

WARNING: Allow hot components to cool for 30 minutes before maintenance.

WARNING: Avoid skin contact with oil or gasoline. Wash exposed skin.

MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE: Regular maintenance improves performance and extends service life. Follow hourly or calendar intervals. Service more frequently under adverse conditions.

Replacement Parts: Air Filter, Oil Drain Plug, Drain Plug Assembly, Oil Dip Stick, Spark Arrestor, Carbon Brush, Spark Plug. Visit parts.wpowereq.com.

Troubleshooting

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE CORRECTION
Engine starts, then shuts down Fuel level low or depleted. Add gasoline or connect propane cylinder.
Low engine oil level stopped generator. Fill oil to proper level. Ensure generator is on a flat, level surface.
Dirty air filter. Clean the air filter.
Contaminated fuel source. Drain fuel and refill with fresh gasoline or replace propane cylinder.
Defective low oil level switch. Contact customer service at 1 (855) 944-3571.
Engine lacks power Air filter restricted. Clean or replace air filter.
Fuel system malfunction, ignition malfunction, or valves stuck. Contact customer service at 1 (855) 944-3571.
Engine will not start Fuel level low or depleted. Add gasoline or connect propane cylinder.
Stale gasoline or generator stored improperly. Drain gasoline tank. Refuel with fresh gasoline.
Dirty air filter. Clean the air filter.
Low engine oil level stopped generator. Fill oil to proper level and ensure the generator is on a flat, level surface.
Spark plug wet with fuel (flooded engine). Wait five minutes. Turn fuel selector to OFF. Pull recoil handle several times. If still not starting, remove and dry spark plug.
Spark plug faulty, fouled, or improperly gapped. Gap or replace the spark plug.
The fuel selector switch is in a wrong position. Turn the fuel selector switch to the appropriate position.
CO sensor removed or modified. Return to original configuration.
CO sensor activated or system fault occurred. Relocate generator or contact customer service at 1 (855) 944-3571.
Engine runs rough or bogs when load applied Dirty air filter. Clean the air filter.
Generator overloaded. Unplug some devices.
Faulty power tool or appliance. Replace or repair tool or appliance. Stop and restart the engine.
Fuel system malfunction, ignition malfunction, or valves stuck. Contact customer service at 1 (855) 944-3571.
No power at AC receptacles AC circuit breaker/s tripped. Inspect AC loads and reset circuit breaker/s.
Faulty power tool or appliance. Replace or repair tool or appliance. Stop and restart the engine.
Faulty generator. Contact customer service at 1 (855) 944-3571.
