10 User Maintenance

NOTE: To maximise the performance of your vacuum cleaner, you should clean the filters regularly.

If the filters are broken or worn, replace them before continuing to use the vacuum.

New filters can be purchased from Customer Service.

10.1 Cleaning the Filters

Important Note – The Filters must be cleaned regularly for the best suction performance and to prevent overheating and damage to your vacuum cleaner.

Cleaning is best done at the same time when emptying the dust Canister after you have finished vacuuming for the day.

Using a wet or damp filter may damage and may cause severe damage to the vacuum cleaner and will void your warranty.

To access the filters, first remove the dust canister from the vacuum cleaner body as described in the section "Emptying the Dust Canister".

Grasp the small White Pleated Filter and pull it straight out.

Diagram Description: Images show the dust canister components, including the white pleated filter being pulled out.

Next, grasp the inner filter housing and pull it straight out.

Only wash the metal filter in warm mild soapy water, rinse in clean fresh cold water and let completely dry.

DO NOT wash the white pleated filter. Just tap the edge of the filter on a firm surface to dislodge any dust and debris.

Replace the White Pleated Filter every 3 months or sooner if needed.

Diagram Description: Images show the inner filter housing being removed, the metal filter being washed, and the white pleated filter being tapped to remove dust.

10.2 Cleaning the Dust Canister

IMPORTANT: DO NOT PLACE THE WHOLE DUST CANISTER IN LIQUID OR GET IT WET.

The dust canister needs to be disassembled for washing so that the electrical circuit and electrical contacts do not get wet.

Remove the Dust Canister and Filters as described previously.

With both filters removed from the dust canister, the transparent canister can be removed.

This is the only component that you can wash.

Wash the Dust Canister (transparent part) in warm mild soapy water, rinse in clean fresh cold water and let completely dry.

When the Dust Canister and Filters are clean and dry, refit the Dust Canister Transparent part to its mating part by first aligning the front of the transparent part with the location tabs in the mating part as shown, then swing up.

Diagram Description: Images show the transparent part of the dust canister being removed, washed, and then refitted by aligning tabs and swinging it up.

Whilst holding the two parts together, insert the metal filter.

Then refit the White Pleated Filter (or replace it with a new one).

Then refit the Dust Canister to the vacuum cleaner body as described previously.

Diagram Description: Images show the metal filter being inserted, the white pleated filter being refitted, and the complete dust canister being reattached to the vacuum cleaner body.

10.3 Cleaning the Vacuum Body and Tools

Clean only the outside of the vacuum cleaner.

Use only a lightly moist cloth and mild detergent for cleaning the vacuum cleaner, stand, components, and accessories.

After cleaning, wipe off any excess moisture with a dry cloth.

11 Storage

When finished using the vacuum cleaner, empty the dust canister and clean the filters.

Place the vacuum cleaner in its Base Stand and recharge the battery in a dry cool place.

Switch off and unplug the battery charger when not in use, or when fully charged.

Static Shock In some rare instances, one or two users may feel an electric discharge when touching or using the vacuum cleaner during or after use. This is a well known phenomenon of Static Electricity discharge that happens mostly when the user vacuums a synthetic fibre carpet or other synthetic surfaces. It can also be more prevalent in dry and cool environments. Although the feeling of Static Electricity can be unpleasant for the user, it is not dangerous and is not a fault of the vacuum cleaner. If this static discharge is a problem for the user, the user could try wearing insulating footwear during vacuuming (i.e., rubber or leather soles) or increase the humidity / heat level in the surrounding environment or both.
