The following items are included with your Smart Wi-Fi Camera:
Please ensure all items are present. If any items are missing or damaged, contact support.
Before you begin, ensure you have the following:
Follow these steps to get your Geeni app ready:
Download the Geeni app from the App Store (?) or Google Play Store (?).
Search for "Geeni" and install the application.
Open the Geeni app and follow the on-screen instructions to register a new account.
You will need to enter your mobile phone number or email address and verify it with a code sent to your device.
Create a secure password for your account.
Once your account is registered, log in to the Geeni app using your credentials.
Enter your country/region, mobile number/email, and password.
Connect your Smart Wi-Fi Camera to a power source using the provided USB cable and power adapter.
How do I reset my device? Use the reset pin (included or a paperclip) to press and hold the Reset Button on the camera for several seconds until the camera starts to beep.
Easy Mounting: Use the included 3M™ Mounting Adhesive sticker to securely attach the camera to a surface.
Optional: Insert a Micro SD card (sold separately) into the designated slot for local storage.
The LED indicator light on the camera provides status information:
In the Geeni app, navigate to the Devices screen. Tap the add icon (➕) in the top corner. Select "Video Camera" from the list of device types.
Ensure the camera is plugged in and the indicator light is blinking red. If the light is not blinking red, follow the reset instructions provided earlier.
Once the light is blinking red, tap "Next Step" in the app.
Enter your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password. Ensure you are connecting to a 2.4GHz network.
Tap "Confirm" to proceed.
The Geeni app will now attempt to connect to your camera. This process may take a few moments. During this time, the camera may beep and its indicator light will continue to blink red before turning solid blue upon successful connection.
If the connection fails, try resetting the device and connecting again using QR Code Mode.
Ensure the camera is plugged in and its indicator light is blinking red. Refer to the "Plug In" section for reset instructions if needed.
In the Geeni app, tap the add icon (➕) on the Devices screen. Select "Video Camera", then choose "QR Code" from the top corner options.
Enter your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password. Tap "Confirm".
A QR code will be generated on your phone screen. Hold your phone approximately 20cm (8 inches) away from the camera lens and point the QR code towards it.
The camera will attempt to scan the QR code.
Once the camera successfully scans the QR code, it will beep. Press "I heard the beep" in the app to confirm and add the camera to your account.
Note: Geeni cannot connect to 5GHz networks.
Access camera settings by selecting your camera from the main device list in the Geeni app and tapping the three-dot menu (...) in the top right corner for advanced options.
Access the live video stream from your camera:
Review recorded footage:
Yes, you can share your cameras with family and friends who will have access to view the camera and control your bulbs, plugs, and other Geeni devices. In the Geeni app, press the Profile button and click on the “Device Sharing” button, and you will be able to give or revoke sharing permissions. In order to share, the other user should already have downloaded the Geeni app and registered a new account.
Without a Micro SD card (optional, sold separately), the smart Wi-Fi camera can show live camera video, save screenshots or videos of the camera stream to your phone for later, and record still snapshots of motion alerts when notifications are turned on. Installing a Micro SD card will further enable video recording and playback from your phone. When the card is installed, the camera will continuously record and play back video to your phone until the card is full (up to 128GB supported). Video is encrypted and only viewable through the Geeni app on your phone, so do not try removing the Micro SD card to view video.
Depending on video quality, the camera will use around 1GB of storage per day, so a 32GB card can provide weeks of continuous video. As the card fills up, the oldest footage will automatically be replaced by new video, so you don't have to ever worry about running out of storage space.
Geeni's app can control an unlimited amount of devices in an unlimited amount of locations. Your router may have a limit of how many devices can be connected to one router.
From your main device list, click on one of the devices you want to rename, press the three-dot menu (...) on the top right for advanced settings, and click "Modify Device Name". You'll then be able to choose a more familiar name.
Make sure your Wi-Fi router is online and in range. Make sure you have the latest Geeni functionality by clicking “Check for firmware update” in your device settings.
The range of your home Wi-Fi is heavily dependent on your home router and the conditions of the room. Check with your router specifications for exact range data.
Geeni products need to be connected to Wi-Fi in order to use them remotely.
Make sure you entered the correct Wi-Fi password during the Wi-Fi setup. Check whether there are any Internet connection problems. If the Wi-Fi signal is too weak, reset your Wi-Fi router and try again.
