Thank you for purchasing a GEENI smart home product. Get started by downloading the Geeni app, which allows you to manage your devices from your phone or tablet. Connect easily to your home Wi-Fi and control multiple devices.

Your Geeni Smart Wi-Fi Outdoor Camera package includes:

Get Ready
- Know your Wi-Fi network name and password.
- Locate a suitable mounting location, but do NOT mount until setup is complete.
- Ensure your mobile device is running iOS® 9 or higher or Android™ 5.0 or higher.
- Connect to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Geeni cameras do not connect to 5GHz networks.
Step 1: Download the Geeni App
Download the Geeni app from the App Store or Google Play.

Step 2: Register an Account
Open the Geeni app and register an account:
STEP 1: Enter your mobile phone number or email address.
STEP 2: Enter the verification code sent to your phone and create a password.

Step 3: Plug In
Important: Set up and connect the camera before mounting. Setup works best near your home router. If the camera loses power, it will automatically reconnect when plugged back in.

Indicator Light Status:
- Solid Red: Starting up
- Blinking Red: Ready to connect
- Solid Blue: Connected
Note: The camera may appear inactive for up to two minutes while booting up.
Step 4: Add Device - Method 1: Easy Mode
STEP 1: In the Geeni app, on the Devices screen, tap the '+' icon in the top corner and choose "Video Camera".
STEP 2: Ensure the camera's indicator light is blinking red. If not, follow reset instructions (see page 5) to make the light blink red, then tap "Next Step".

Step 4 (cont.): Connect to Wi-Fi
STEP 3: Enter your Wi-Fi network name and password.
STEP 4: The Geeni app will attempt to connect your device. The camera may beep and its light will blink red, then turn solid green upon successful connection.

NOTE: Geeni cannot connect to 5GHz networks. If connection fails, try resetting and connecting using QR Code Mode.
Step 5: Add Device - Method 2: Backup QR Code Mode
STEP 1: Ensure the device's indicator light is blinking red (refer to reset instructions on page 5).
STEP 2: In the Geeni app, on the Devices screen, tap the '+' icon, choose "Video Camera", then select "QR Code" in the top corner.
STEP 3: Click "Next" and enter your Wi-Fi details.

STEP 4: Scan the QR code with the camera.
STEP 5: If you hear the camera beep, tap "I heard the beep" to add your camera.

Settings
Access camera settings by tapping on the camera from your main device list, then pressing the [more options] button (represented by '...') in the top right corner.
- Modify Device Name: Rename your camera (e.g., "Porch", "Backyard").
- Device Sharing: Share camera access with family and friends. They must have the Geeni app and an account.
- Device Info: View camera details.
- Basic Feature Settings: Adjust settings like Indicator Light (on/off), Flip (rotate image), and Time Watermark.
- Motion Detection Setting: Enable motion detection notifications and adjust sensitivity (Low, Medium, High).
- SD Card Setting: Format your microSD card.
- Remove Device: Delete the camera from your account.

Step 6: Mount the Camera
STEP 1: Screw the included antenna onto the connector on the back of the camera.
STEP 2: Use the included screws and wall anchors to mount the camera in your desired location.
STEP 3: Use the allen wrench to loosen the mounting screws. Angle the camera as needed and tighten the screws to secure the position.

NOTE: If you unplug the camera, it will automatically reconnect to your Wi-Fi network without needing to repeat setup steps.
Live View & Playback
View live footage and recorded videos:
- Live View: Access the live camera feed.
- Full screen: Expand the view to full screen.
- Set video quality: Choose a quality setting for smoother broadcasting.
- Motion Alerts: Enable push notifications for motion detection.
- Screenshot: Save a screenshot of the live video to your phone.
- Record: Save the live camera footage to your phone's memory.
- Playback: View recorded footage. You can change the date of playback.
- Save stored footage: Save recorded footage to your phone's memory.

Troubleshooting
Cannot connect to your Wi-Fi network:
- Ensure you entered the correct Wi-Fi password during setup.
- Check for general internet connection problems.
- If the Wi-Fi signal is weak, try resetting your Wi-Fi router.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Can I share with family and friends?
Yes, you can share camera access. In the Geeni app, go to Profile > Device Sharing to grant or revoke permissions. The other user must have the Geeni app and an account.
- Recording and microSD card usage:
Without a microSD card, the camera can show live video, save screenshots/videos to your phone, and record motion alerts. Installing a microSD card enables continuous video recording and playback on your phone. Video is encrypted and only viewable via the Geeni app.
- How much video can the camera record?
The camera uses approximately 1GB of storage per 24 hours of footage. This can be continuous recording or multiple days of motion-only recording. The oldest footage is automatically replaced when the card is full.
- How many cameras can I control?
The Geeni app supports an unlimited number of devices across multiple locations. Your router may have a limit on the number of connected devices.
- My Geeni device has a funny name. How do I rename it?
From the main device list, select the device, tap the [more options] button (represented by '...') in the top right, and choose "Modify Device Name" to give it a more familiar name.
- The device appears offline or unreachable, what should I do?
Ensure your Wi-Fi router is online and within range. Check for firmware updates in your device settings.
- What's the wireless range?
Wireless range depends on your home router and environmental conditions. Consult your router's specifications for exact range data.
- If my Wi-Fi/Internet goes down, will Geeni still work?
Geeni products require a Wi-Fi connection for remote use.
