Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, you can share camera access. In the Geeni app, go to Profile > Device Sharing to grant or revoke permissions. The other user must have the Geeni app and an account.

  2. Recording and microSD card usage:

Without a microSD card, the camera can show live video, save screenshots/videos to your phone, and record motion alerts. Installing a microSD card enables continuous video recording and playback on your phone. Video is encrypted and only viewable via the Geeni app.

  3. How much video can the camera record?

The camera uses approximately 1GB of storage per 24 hours of footage. This can be continuous recording or multiple days of motion-only recording. The oldest footage is automatically replaced when the card is full.

The Geeni app supports an unlimited number of devices across multiple locations. Your router may have a limit on the number of connected devices.

  5. My Geeni device has a funny name. How do I rename it?

From the main device list, select the device, tap the [more options] button (represented by '...') in the top right, and choose "Modify Device Name" to give it a more familiar name.

  6. The device appears offline or unreachable, what should I do?

Ensure your Wi-Fi router is online and within range. Check for firmware updates in your device settings.

  7. What's the wireless range?

Wireless range depends on your home router and environmental conditions. Consult your router's specifications for exact range data.
