Whirlpool Microwave Oven: Safety, Installation, and Usage Guide

Important Safety Instructions

Before using this appliance, read all safety instructions carefully and keep them for future reference. The manufacturer is not liable for damage resulting from failure to observe these instructions, improper use, or incorrect control settings.

Child Safety: Keep very young children (0-3 years) away from the appliance. Young children (3-8 years) should be supervised. Children aged 8 and older, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience, may use the appliance only if supervised or instructed on safe use and understanding the hazards. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance should not be performed by children without supervision.

General Warnings:

  • The appliance and its accessible parts become hot during use. Avoid touching heating elements.
  • Never leave the appliance unattended during food drying.
  • Use only temperature probes recommended for this oven.
  • Keep flammable materials away from the appliance until it has cooled completely.
  • Be vigilant when cooking foods rich in fat, oil, or when adding alcoholic beverages.
  • Use oven gloves to remove pans and accessories.
  • Open the door cautiously at the end of cooking to allow hot air or steam to escape gradually, preventing burns.
  • Do not obstruct hot air vents at the front of the oven.
  • Exercise caution to avoid hitting the door when it is open or down.
  • Do not operate if the door or door seals are damaged; have it repaired first.
  • Do not heat liquids or foods in sealed containers; risk of explosion.
  • Heating beverages can cause delayed eruptive boiling; handle containers with care.
  • Do not dry food or clothing, or heat warming pads, slippers, sponges; risk of fire.
  • When heating food in plastic or paper containers, remain vigilant; risk of fire.
  • Stir or shake contents of baby bottles and jars, and check temperature; risk of burns.
  • Do not heat eggs in their shell or whole hard-boiled eggs; risk of explosion.
  • Use only microwave-safe utensils. Do not use metallic containers; risk of injury.
  • If smoke is emitted, switch off or unplug the appliance and keep the door closed to stifle flames.
  • If installed above 850 mm height, be careful not to displace the turntable when removing containers; risk of injury.
  • Do not use for deep-frying as oil temperature cannot be controlled.

Permitted Use

This appliance is not intended to be operated by external switching devices like timers or remote controls.

It is designed for household and similar applications, such as staff kitchens, offices, farm houses, hotels, motels, and bed & breakfasts.

Other uses, such as heating rooms, are not permitted. The appliance is not for professional or outdoor use.

Do not store explosive or flammable substances (e.g., gasoline, aerosol cans) inside or near the appliance.

Installation

Installation requires two or more persons. Use protective gloves to unpack and install to avoid cuts.

Installation, water supply (if applicable), electrical connections, and repairs must be carried out by a qualified technician. Do not repair or replace parts unless specified in the manual.

Keep children away from the installation site. After unpacking, check for transport damage and contact the dealer or Aftersales Service if problems occur.

Store packaging waste (plastic, styrofoam) out of reach of children to prevent suffocation.

Disconnect the appliance from the power supply before installation to avoid electric shock. Ensure the power cable is not damaged during installation.

Activate the appliance only after installation is complete.

This appliance is intended for built-in installation only. Do not use it freestanding or place it in a cabinet.

After unpacking, ensure the door closes properly. Contact the dealer or Aftersales Service for any issues.

Perform all cabinet cutting operations before fitting the appliance and remove all wood chips and sawdust. Do not obstruct the minimum gap between the worktop and the upper edge of the oven; risk of burns.

Do not remove the oven from its polystyrene foam base until installation.

After installation, the bottom of the appliance must no longer be accessible; risk of burns.

Do not install the appliance behind a decorative door; risk of fire.

Electrical Warnings:

  • The rating plate is on the front edge of the oven, visible when the door is open.
  • The appliance must be disconnectable from the power supply via plug or a multi-pole switch, in accordance with wiring rules, and must be earthed.
  • Do not use extension leads, multiple sockets, or adapters. Electrical components must not be accessible to the user after installation.
  • Do not use the appliance when wet or barefoot.
  • Do not operate if the power cable or plug is damaged, if it is not working properly, or if it has been damaged or dropped.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid hazards. Contact an authorized service center for cable replacement.

Cleaning and Maintenance

WARNING: It is hazardous for anyone other than a competent person to perform service or repair operations involving the removal of protective covers against microwave energy exposure.

Failure to maintain cleanliness can lead to surface deterioration, reduced appliance life, and hazardous situations.

Clean the oven regularly and remove food deposits.

WARNING: Ensure the appliance is switched off and disconnected from the power supply before any maintenance. Never use steam cleaning equipment; risk of electric shock.

Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scrapers on the door glass, as they can scratch the surface and potentially cause breakage.

Ensure the appliance is cooled down before cleaning or maintenance to prevent burns.

Disposal of Packaging Materials

Packaging material is 100% recyclable, marked with the recycle symbol . Dispose of packaging responsibly according to local regulations.

Disposal of Household Appliances

This appliance is made from recyclable or reusable materials. Dispose of it according to local waste disposal regulations.

Contact your local authority, waste collection service, or retailer for information on treatment, recovery, and recycling.

Energy Saving Tips

  • Preheat the oven only if specified in the cooking table or recipe.
  • Use dark lacquered or enamelled baking trays as they absorb heat better.
  • Food requiring prolonged cooking will continue to cook even after the oven is switched off.
